Originally a US Navy building that was moved to it's present location in the early 50's. This is our family getaway that we share with guests, some who have been coming back for several years. It is within biking distance of attractions such as the nc aquarium, the Lost Colony Theater, and the Manteo waterfront and Centenial Park. The house has a/c, cable and internet. A backyard hammock, and an outdoor shower. It is an economical and fun place with something for everyone whether it be surfing, fishing or enjoying the many local attractions.

My family has enjoyed this cozy vacation get away for several years. Very clean, private, a short drive to beaches and attractions in Nags Head and Kitty Hawk. James, the property host, is always responsive and helpful. A+
I had a fantastic stay at James' property. It exactly fit my needs and appreciated the seclusion, but was close enough to access Nags Head. The property is nearby the local airport, but we were not bothered at all by the limited air traffic. Would definitely stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and spacious. We were a little nervous about the neighborhood as we were driving there since it’s in kind of an industrial area, but it ended up being so quiet and peaceful.
A wonderful, clean, nicely decorated, comfortable, well-stocked, slightly quirky home off the beaten path. We especially loved the screened in porch. The bed was comfortable and the welcoming touches from the host were very nice. We enjoyed our time here.
One of cleanest houses we have stayed in. James was a great host and communicated very well with us. The location worked out great with our 2 dogs. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you James for being a great host!
This home may be a little old but it has everything you could want for a vacation. Small rooms and only one bathroom makes it a little tight, however, there is a ton of room in the kitchen/dining room, the sunroom, and the backyard. We enjoyed hanging out and having a bonfire in the fire pit. Access to beach chairs, bicycles, and fishing equipment gave us so many things to do. We loved staying here. Thanks you!
This property has the best location. So close to a life guarded beach and the national seashore. It’s clean, quiet, and has everything you need. We’ve stayed here two years in a row and plan on next year as well!
Absolutely loved staying here. It truly is your home away from home. Super clean and the porch is incredible! We really appreciated all of the little touches that were included in the home. The pictures don't do it justice. We will be back for sure!

The stay was fantastic! The home was perfect and the communication from the owner was outstanding! We will be back soon.
Thanks!
Cute, cozy cottage. Nice owner to deal with and so easy to get a hold of if you need him. Private area. Only 10 minutes to beach in Nags head. Love the back screened in porch. And appreciate he allows dogs. Our shitzu loves the house.
The house had a nice layout for our family of 5, was clean and had all the essentials. The remodeled kitchen was a bonus as well as the beach gear - beach towels, toys, and umbrella. James was accommodating with flexing our stay dates on short notice and was responsive when we had a follow up. The location is slightly off the beaten path in a quiet area, which took us some getting used to but ended up really appreciating. Overall so much to see, do, and enjoy in the OBX area and would book here again!
It was my second time renting this fabulous home. It’s quiet, extremely clean, comfortable and had everything (and then some!) that I needed for my stay. James was a wonderful host, he stayed in communication with me as I decided last minute to extend my a few more days. I’m hoping to visit again next year, thanks, James!
The pictures do not do this place justice. It is spacious and was very clean. So much space for our family of 5 and our dogs. They go above and beyond with everything you need for your vacation. The home was surprisingly stocked with anything and everything you could possibly need. It was about a 15 min drive to anything you wanted to do. Within 5 minutes you could be at the boardwalk with quaint little shops and restaurants. Beach access is within 10 min drive. I will definitely be returning as this was one of the best places I have stayed in my many years travelling to the beach. The property owner is extremely helpful and kind. Easy to reach and quick to respond. 10 out of 10 would recommend!!
This would have been my third year staying in this wonderful cozy home in February. James was very accommodating, letting me book rather last minute this time. Unfortunately, the heat wasn’t working on the day of my check in and James did his best to get it back up and running before I arrived. Despite his best efforts and fantastic communications with me, he was unable to have it ready in time so I had to make other plans, which was not too hard to do in the off season. From past experiences, I know that the house and the heating system were fabulous, so I was sad I couldn’t stay there again this year. Hoping to return again next year though, this minor setback would not deter me from returning again. James’ communication was excellent! (Note: As far as ratings go, I didn’t get to check in/see cleanliness/accuracy, but my past two visits were 5 stars for all three so I am repeating that for this review since it’s required to make this post.)
The photos do NOT do this bungalow justice! It was so much more spacious than we imagined! The outdoor shower was a treat after hiking the nature preserves or walking the beaches for shells. Twice, we were joined by little friends. (Herbert the Anole and Larry the Treefrog). James was very quick to respond after we requested a last minute stay before Memorial Day to try to make-up for my 2 daughters losing their prom & graduation ceremony because of COVID. Located off the beaten path, it was central to EVERYTHING; we were able to try different things daily without driving FOREVER, (Day1: Lost Colony/Elizabeth Gardens, Day2: Nags Head Woods Nature Preserve, Day3: Pea Island Refuge/Bodie Lighthouse, Day 4: Corrolla Beach, Day 5: Manteo Waterfront & Marina, Day 6: The Pier and Nature Walk behind the Visitors Center.) The kids loved the hammock and screened in porch with swing. The VHS collection was a HOOT! They thought it was terrific someone still owned a VCR!
