Jean and Bob are the best people ever! They are genuine, kind, and the most giving souls we have met. We stayed for a month in July. Jean and Bob both welcomed us upon arrival. Jean made sure I was all connected to the internet at 9pm the night I arrived since I worked part of the time I was staying and had to work the next morning. The refrigerator was stocked with some drinks and healthy snacks to get started for the night and next day! Jean and Bob are very knowledgeable about the area and can tell you about hikes, float trips, where to find huckleberries, what restaurants to eat at, where to shop for specialty groceries (vegan items), and gems of places to visit. My husband arrived later and Bob graciously offered to drive 70 miles each way to pick him up at the airport in Missoula. Bob also taught me how to change the oil on my car before departing for the 4 day drive home. If you love old cars, you must get to know Bob! Jean is the best cook ever. We were invited for the 4th of July potluck with the neighborhood and two dinners. We loved and enjoyed every second. If you are staying long enough, take a pottery class with Jean. Her sgraffito work is amazing. We made 3 plates with her guidance and wish we could bring her home with us to teach and learn more. Their dogs are adorable and super friendly. Bob even pet sat for us while we went to Glacier National Park for 4 days and he did a fabulous job with our dog and 6 birds who stayed at the apartment.
Aside from Jean and Bob being the most amazing hosts and people ever, their place was outstanding. The king bed was cozy and comfortable. There is a couch bed with a comfortable topper for 1 extra person. The AC was a blessing in the heat wave. The porch was like a retreat every morning just looking over the mountains. The doggie door which could fit up to a 75 pound dog with the small ramp was so helpful for our 12 hour outings. There is no large oven but the Oster oven allowed use to make cookies, pizza, huckleberry bread, and all kinds of other goodies. The Nuwave cooktop plate was awesome for making soups and spaghetti. The kitchen is stocked with every gadget you would think of even tupperware for the leftovers. All the chairs were cozy. The decoration was spot on and well thought out. Lots of bathroom space with extra towels and bedding items. And, if you needed something you could not find, Jean or Bob had it to borrow! The internet access was never an issue (excellent!).
