Just 15 miles from Colorado's world-class Breckenridge ski resort. Copper Mountain, Keystone, and A-Basin are also less than 50 minutes away. Our home is an eclectic mix of new and old. This is our second stay at the Eclectic Alma House! The location was perfect for our weekly activities. Our hosts have a beautiful home; the split floor design is perfect for 2 couples providing plenty of room for everyone to enjoy their relaxing time. The check in/check out process is a breeze and property is well equipped for meal preparation and evening relaxation. Will definitely plan to return for our next trip to Colorado.
The house couldn't have been more lovely! Very spacious inside with every possible amenity - and dog-friendly, too!
Responsibilities upon leaving (laundry, trash, etc.) were minimal compared to other properties. We would definitely stay there again!
My wife and I booked the Alma property online. The owners; Jan and Mark were incredible to work with. The property is perfectly located as our plans included not only the Breckenridge area but also southern Colorado/Arkansas River and Salida.
We already have the property booked for a second trip in early March for Summit Skiing.
Would highly recommend this property for your visit to Central Park/Summit County vacation.
What ann incredibly gorgeous property! Cleanliness was incredible and house was well appointed. Location is an easy walk to all things in Alma and a short drive to FairPlay and Breckenridge. Definitely one of my favorite stays!
Had an amazing stay - very nice place! Super clean house, met all of our needs. Jan was quick to respond back to a question we had, really appreciate that. Would highly recommend this place!
Architecture and interior design beyond our dreams.
Quiet and comfortable.
South Park City, Bristlecone Pines on Windy Ridge, good Mexican food at the former Fairplay Hotel.
Rainstorms, rainbows, wildflowers, what's not to like?
We were able to go on two memorable jeep trips. Both trails began in Alma. They couldn't have been closer! The cabin was beautiful and very comfortable.
The cabin was simply perfect and i loved being able to walk to Otto's Cartyard, the Al-Mart, Mojo's coffee, and down to the river. Nearby hikes with friends who came to visit were fabulous. The McCabes are great hosts and extremely responsive.
It was a great hiking trip for two girls and two dogs. Hiking, biking and shopping are way through an amazing week in Colorado! The alma house is perfect location to all our plans. The space was amazing
Very comfortable, well-thought out and roomy home for our stay at high altitude to be near the mountains. Close to trails and many places to explore. Hummingbirds and magpies out the front door. Everything you need at the General Store or in nearby Fairplay.
The stay was great!
The cabin was nice, well equipped, and clean.
The space was also a nice mix of old and new design very aesthetically pleasing! This rental I would refer to any other renter that is looking for a very nice place to stay while also being away from big towns or cities. the location is at the base of a mountain, with many nearby trails and mountain passes.
We loved our stay here. The house was welcoming and very comfortable. The view spectacular. The neighborhood amazing. It seems like everyone talks about the food truck when reviewing this house and it's with good reason. Best chicken sandwich I've ever had. But really, it doesn't matter where the house is located. It was beautiful and cozy enough to stay whether it was in the city, country, or mountains
This is a nice, comfortable house in a great little town. I stayed for a month in Alma and skied at many resorts in Colorado.
Loved Otto's food truck a block away and hiked and snowshoes in the forest behind the house.
The house is well equipped for a short or extended stay.
Good parking behind the house.
The hosts are nearby and accessible. I hope to come back again.
We took a weekend trip to see the beautiful Fall leaves. This home was the perfect location and perfect amount of space for 4 adults! The house was clean and every thing was as expected from the ad. They even let us bring our 2 small dogs! We will definitely stay here again!
We were in Alma to do the Decalibron loop and the house was perfect for us! Easy checkin with communication from host. The house was very well equipped with anything you might need. Clean and comfy too!
Very nice place easy access to a wedding we went to at Guyton Ranch

My husband, Mark, and I are transplants from Kansas City, Mo. I grew up in Kansas City and Mark moved to KC from Buffalo, NY. We moved here permanently after completing the remodel of our house, which took 5 1/2 years! Mark and I are both retired, me from the financial services industry and Mark from photography. We love to hike and go camping with our dog Murphy! In the summer I work for the Mosquito Range Heritage Initiative, leading their Rare Alpine Plant project. I also like to quilt and Mark is a project guy! In fact, Mark built our little house in Alma with some help along the way! We hope that you enjoy your stay!
Why they chose this property
We have always loved Colorado and through the years came skiing and camping with our kids. Then in 2006 life long friends bought a house in Fairplay. When we came to visit, we fell in love with Park County. We bought our home sight unseen in 2007, thinking we would do a fix and flip. When we saw the views, we knew this was the place for us. We moved into our home 5 1/2 yrs later and have no plans to leave any time soon. Park County has so much to offer and the people of Alma and Fairplay are so friendly, we can't think of a better place to live. In 2014, we bought a house in Alma (37 S Oak) thinking we would do a remodel and rent it. However, once we got into it, we realized there was no saving it; so down it came. We had plans drawn up and started from scratch.
