Perfect little secluded cabin in the woods!

This secluded cabin was the perfect getaway for us and our adult children. The layout of the house could not have worked better! It’s location was perfect for us, with many trailheads nearby. It was only a short, breathtakingly beautiful drive into Estes Park and just minutes from the Village of Allenspark where the food was fabulous and people very friendly. We enjoyed a hike just behind the cabin that took us to 9,008 ft. And less than a mile down the dirt road was the most beautiful rock falls! It was awesome star gazing at night without the light pollution from the city. I highly recommend this location!

Great family mountain getaway!

Perfect size and accommodations for my family of five. The proximity to Rock Mountain National Park's Wild Basin was a real bonus.

Secluded w/ Great Access to Wild Basin Trailhead

We primarily hiked Wild Basin over 3 day period. This was definitely secluded. I saw one human apart from our travel party while at the cabin.during our entire stay. As an out-of-state guest, our cell phone in the entire Wild Basin area was non existent. To use my cell phone I had to go to Estes Park.

As advertised

This cabin was as advertised, a remote and rustic venue. Our favorite aspect was it is located only a mile from the Wild Basin Trailhead in the Rocky Mtn National Park. The Calypso Cascades/Ouzel Falls Trail is especially beautiful, a must hike if you stay at this cabin!

. Excellent place to get away from it all

We love our stay in the mountains to get away from the hectic city life down in Denver. This was our 2nd time staying in this cabin and we loved it once again.. We will absolutely be back.

Really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Cabin

Our party of 5 - two early twenties son's and one son's girlfriend, as well as my husband and I spent 3 nights at the cabin, and enjoyed beautiful surroundings and great weather! Very peaceful and relaxing, in addition to being very close to Estes Park, the Rockies and other great sites. Definitely recommend.

Great cabin for large group, plus nicely secluded

Photos on listing don't really give an accurate idea of how large the cabin is. Plenty of room to spread out. It sets on a dirt road that has next to know traffic. I think we saw two vehicles and two groups of hikers in three days. The cabin is nicely furnished and the kitchen very well equipped. The only thing missing is a great view from the deck, because the cabin is surrounded by forest and is located in a creek valley. Owners went the extra mile to accommodate a last-minute reservation, despite some logistical hurdles. I would gladly stay there again.

Family Vacation

This was the perfect cabin for us!! Quiet, tranquil, and relaxing. We loved being able to enjoy the great outdoors without all of the hustle and bustle of being in town. The kids had lots of space to explore and they loved the zip line. We look forward to returning someday!

Incredible location!

Incredible location with lots of great hiking right out the front door. And a short ten minute drive to incredible hiking in the Wild Basin area of RMNP. Cabin was nice with everything we needed. Owners were easy to work with and very responsive. We will definitely stay here again.

A great change of pace in a great place

My wife and I decided to get a cabin this year and day hike as opposed to a backpack trip. Niether of us had been to RMNP. This was a great secluded location for getting to and from the park. The picture windows were my favorite and having a comfortable place to get out of the afternoon thunderstorms was nice too. This cabin is great for a large family as well as couple. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the water quality. We did find a place in Allenspark to get free Spring Water, which was nice.

Perfect for anyone wantning to be near RMNP and away from the crowds.

When we rented the cabin we thought there would be more of us going. It was supposed to be a platoon reunion for 6 army buddies to fish, golf, hike, etc. However life happens, and as it turned out there were only two of us. But the cabin was fantastic, on a dirt road, off a secondary road, there wasn't many other people. There are a few other cabins on the dirt road but I only saw one other cabin being used. We felt like we had the whole area to ourselves and it is a beautiful area. Great hiking and exploring on the walk to St Vrain River. The cabin was clean and comfortable.

Beautiful mountain retreat

Wish we were still there! We enjoyed the hummingbirds, and the sound of the nearby creek. A couple of deer came very close to the cabin, and we enjoyed watching them as they circled us, and then went into the woods. We had a 3 night family reunion while gathering to attend a wedding in Estes Park. This was the perfect place to stay, with everything we needed for a restful time together. Hope to return someday!

Quaint cabin in the heart of the rockies

This cabin is perfect for a getaway in the woods. It is minutes from the quieter Wild Basin area of RMNP which we really enjoyed exploring. We had two families and were a little cramped - of note there is no laundry or dishwasher on site and the only shower is quite small but it is an older cabin so it is charming but rustic. The cabin is clean and comfortable and while small for a larger group, you will not be in it much because you just cannot beat the location. Not featured in the photos are the dramatic overlooks that are easy hikes right out the back door. The owners have taken the time to clearly outline everywhere you can wander off to in and around both the cabin and Allenspark which was really helpful. We had a miscommunication with the owner about how many guests were staying but it was easily cleared up and they proved friendly and easy to work with, but I do suggest leaving more explicit check out instructions.

Secluded and quiet

The location is amazing for those looking to get out there. The kitche lacked some basic amenities such as a can opener, wine glasses, and propane for the grill but all in all we really enjoyed our stay. Loved the zip line and creek! The view of Longs peak was beautiful.

Perfect peaceful vacation

Our family (2 parents and 2 teenaged boys) had a great 10 day stay. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, and the house had everything we needed. We spent our time hiking on trails within walking distance from the house, as well as those just a few miles away. The Estes Park entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park was also less than a 30 minute drive.

A Cabin with Heart

Great location! Easy access to Estes and RMNP but removed from all the crowds. Met our expectations. We hiked, fished and explored the area around the cabin, which had everything we needed. The heart collection had us seeing hearts everywhere we went. Only giving 4 stars due to rough driveway back to cabin. We were in a 4 wheel drive but drug bottom in places. I would not let this deter to you from staying here. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Family Cabin!

We booked a last minute trip to Estes Park in September, it was the same weekend if the Scottish Festival. I was worried we would have to cancel because we couldn't find could find a place big enough to hold the party of 6. Yes the cabin is not in Estes but a short pretty drive and you find an amazing cabin! I loved that this house felt like home!!! The beautiful family who shared this with us is very lucky to have such a peaceful place!!

Perfect get away for our family.

We loved this secluded rustic cabin for our family vacation. It was absolutely perfect for us. We like things off the beaten path with mountain charm. We walked trails from the cabin, played yard games, board games and had wonderful fellowship around the fireplace. Treasured memories were made with the ones we love. We will be back!

Love the fact that it's an older house with lots of space and a great feeling of "Home"

Dirt road wasn't as bad as other reviews made it sound, a car can easily get to the house. lots of space for friends, family, children to hang out inside and outside. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck with some music and the grill fired up. Great experience all around. We'll be back for sure!

Quite secluded..the approach is difficult for low to the road vehicles, but worth the drive on the unimproved road. Very comfortable. Nice for the family retreat.

cabin with charm, locate in beautiful area

Overall, our stay was great. We enjoyed the deck, large living room and fireplace. Located close to the St. Vrain river, just a short beautiful walk. We also enjoy feeding and watching the hummingbirds right outside the dining room window. Rarely did we see anyone else! The secluded location was great but the dirt road to the cabin was quite challenging and a little hard on vehicles. Would recommend arriving in daylight and with a 4 wheel drive.
