Contemporary self contained, one bedroom container home with closed in deck set amongst the bushland and wildlife of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands.
Ideal short-stay retreat for couples, writers hideaway or for bird watchers.

Getting there
Travel by vehicle barge or ferry from Redland Bay to the Southern Moreton Bay Islands. Complimentary bus to RSL or Bowling Club on island. Amenities on island include Supa IGA, bakery, cafes/restaurants, fuel, fishing gear etc. There is a ride share service called ‘Island Ride’.

Fab getaway

Magical spot

Piece and quiet surrounded by bushland. With lots of birds to watch. The tiny home is perfectly fitted out with an excellent screened enclosed veranda to sit and enjoy the surroundings.

A wonderful location with lots of wildlife!

The Birdhouse was just as it was named, the large flyscreened verandah meant we could spend most of our stay where we were at the accomodation out in the elements, taking in the huge variety of animals that came past. Peaceful and quiet, and in a good location away from the main noise of the island, close to lots of nature walks and a quick swim.

Good stay

We enjoyed our stay at the 'Bird House'/Island tank Avairy for a few days of relaxation. Compact, but everything there. We did experience the full range of Queensland weather - sun, rain, heat, cold over the week but were comfortable. Only drawback was the biting insects.

Perfect Getaway

We were super impressed with this accommodation….it was amazing. We thought it would feel small but it felt anything but. Really well designed and they have thought of everything you will and could possibly need. The enclosed deck give the property another dimension and it was lovely to sit outside and not be bugged by insects. Well done on the fit out and the incidentals, we did not want for anything during our stay.

My family has lived on the island for 26 years and I always enjoyed visiting them, the ferry ride, the birds and wildlife, the fresh air and escaping the 'rat race', so I bought this tiny home as my special place.

Why they chose this property

I'm an advocate of tiny homes and this one is made from a 40 foot shipping container and is very liveable especially with the bifold doors onto the deck bringing the outside into the home.

What makes this property unique

In a tiny home every item must be carefully selected to enable full enjoyment of the space and versatility and be uncluttered. The home has a 5 Star Building Energy Rating including insulated ceiling, walls and floor, double glazed tinted windows with ceiling fans in the bedroom and family room.
