About this property

Rata St is a well appointed two bedroom property at Otaki Beach, on a high elevated section with big views from a deck that wraps around the property. At the front are awesome sea views and at the rear are great views towards the Tararua hills and Otaki Forks. This property will suit a couple, or two couples, who want a relaxing beach holiday.

The property has been recently renovated and is well appointed with a new kitchen. There is a big TV with fast fibre internet and Chromecast for Netflix etc. The house is warm in winter with a firebox in the living room and lots of dry wood.

Please note that to keep costs down for our guests, linen is not included. If you are an international traveller without linen, please ask and we can often make arrangements for you.

while working in Otaki with Rangatahi this accommodation was a peaceful space with comfort Apart from the Driveway - I would not recommend Trailers - very steep but awesome once you get to the top to the Homestead Was amazing - welcoming and a Home not a House Thank you so much

Thank you so much for having our guests. They absolutely loved their stay and we are so thankful for your support of the festival in this way. Also, so sorry, in all the busyness, I absolutely forgot to mention that our house manager went to clean your house that time you rang and found the lamp was broken, so she put it in the laundry. She thinks it was from whoever stayed before us but because I didn't tell you straight away, I'm happy to put something towards replacing it. Thanks

Otaki Christmas

Had family Christmas at Otaki beach. Bach was great and had everything we needed for Christmas festivities including views of lovely pohutukawa trees. Really enjoyed our stay and appreciated being able to bring some extra family members too!

Otaki oasis

We had an excellent relaxing 3 night stay. Cosy evenings with the wood fire and lovely sunny days on the big deck. Otaki beach and forks provided just enough temptation for us to adventure out. Lovely gardens and fantastic views make this a beautiful getaway spot. All the facilities and comforts of home. Thx

Just as good the second time

This our second time staying at this property. Very clean and sunny, beautiful gardens and nice deck. Owners were relaxed and good communicators. Definitely recommend.

We came to Otaki Beach for a wedding with friends and Mark & Shirley’s was the best spot! We loved how homely it felt and we all said that we could definitely live there full time! Thanks for having us, we would definitely return :)

Very pleasant short stay

We stayed only two nights, but we enjoyed our time. The bed was comfortable, and we appreciated the sun (when available!) and views. Clearer written instructions for the oven, induction hob, and CD/DVD player would be helpful (but Mark was good when we telephoned). Some of the art could be reconsidered …..

Wonderful, relaxing weekend away!

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Mark and Shirley’s cute, comfortable beach house. Communications were excellent and Mark was very friendly and flexible, catering for our logistics. Highly recommended. And thanks guys.

Well setup and panoramic views

We really enjoyed our stay in this cool 2 bedroomed house. The beds were really comfortable and the property had everything you needed - a well equipped kitchen; lots of outdoor furniture on the deck so you could admire the great view of the beach, rolling farmland and the tararua ranges plus a fabulous wood burner.

Perfect couple getaway

Beautifully appointed home that is tastefully elegant with all modern conveniences. Elevated site with spectacular rural and sea views. A short walk to the beach and a short drive to Otaki township. A wonderful log fire for those chilly nights. Definitely returning to enjoy some summer days on the expansive decking. Highly recommended and many thanks to Mark and Shirley.

Great views, great home

A well presented, newly renovated, light and airy home with awesome views from extensive decking. Sunrise over the Tararuas across farmland to the east to colourful sunset into the Tasman in the west with a clear view of Mt Taranaki on the horizon. And a bonus for this stay, an unimpeded view of the super moon rising. If the weather's not great then the dining area still allows those magnificent views. The home is roomy, the kitchen fully fitted out and a modern bathroom. Couldn't fault home, positioning, or contact with owners.
