***Thanks for your interest in our cabin. We're not currently taking reservations.***
We found this amazing property in 2012, then built & moved into our permanent home near the cabin (~450 ft up the road) in the summer 2015.
The comfortable 1100 ft2 cabin is situated on 20 acres surrounded by National Forest on 3 sides with beautiful Whitepine Creek flowing right through it. It’s on a well-maintained National Forest Service dirt road and is the last structure before millions of acres of the Kootenai & Coeur d’Alene national forests. The proximity to national forest affords us regular sightings of white-tailed deer, moose, elk, wild turkeys, coyote, hummingbirds and many other flora and fauna of the region. All you have to do is look up to see the Milky Way on clear nights!
The cabin has one bedroom with a comfortable queen-sized bed, two full-sized beds in the open loft upstairs, and one bathroom (shower, no tub). The kitchen is stocked with dishes, glasses, cookware, utensils, toaster, coffeemaker, microwave, refrigerator/freezer and gas range/oven. We can also provide basic spices and cooking ingredients for your convenience. Admittedly it’s a little small but I’ve made an entire Thanksgiving dinner in it!
There’s a 42” LED flat screen TV and Blu Ray/DVD player for watching movies or listening to music (no live TV). We have a library of DVDs, CDs and books for your entertainment (Redbox location in Thompson Falls). A compact stacked washer/dryer, detergent and fabric softener are available for use as well. A window A/C unit is provided in summer months.
The large patio boasts peaceful and relaxing views of the valley with patio chairs, umbrella, and BBQ. The backyard has a sturdy game hook and small outdoor fire ring (complimentary firewood provided).
We are off grid but you wouldn’t know it with our solar system and backup generators. Fiber internet that supports WiFi calls but no cell service – we don’t consider that a bad thing!
We are approximately 20 minutes from the village of Trout Creek. There is a small grocery store, hardware store, gas stations, motels, and restaurants/bars. The town of Thompson Falls is a little further away (~25-30 mins) in the opposite direction on Highway 200 but offers a larger grocery store, state liquor store, gas stations, and more bar/restaurant options.
The Clark Fork Valley is truly incredible and a beautiful drive in from every direction. The Spokane airport is ~3 hours drive to our cabin through Coeur d’Alene, Sandpoint, ID and Lake Pend Oreille from the west. Missoula is ~2 hours drive through the valley from the east, and Kalispell is ~2.5 hours from the northeast around the amazing Flathead Lake.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions. We hope to see you soon!
