About this property

Log cabin , riverfront,Hot Tub, mins to Chimney Rck /Lake Lure , Fishing

This vintage log cabin was built in 1944 and comes with all the classic charm and the peaceful sounds of the Rocky Broad River, just out your back door. This quaint one bedroom cabin sports a luxurious king bed, all the kitchen necessities, hot tub for two, and is close to all the fun mountain activities. Located in Bat Cave NC along the main road leading into Chimney Rock, it is only a few minutes to both Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. You can also get to the town of Hendersonville within 20 min or Black Mountain within 35 min. Asheville is about a 40 min drive. Come stay and relax in this peaceful retreat, fish for some trout just out the back door, wade or kayak in the river. With a short drive to Chimney Rock you can find some great shops and restaurants, and of course great hiking experiences. Lake Lure is a beautiful mountain lake so get on a boat or kayak and explore the lake. Hendersonville is known for their apple orchards in late summer. Asheville has so many tourist attractions including the Biltmore Estate. Come hike, bike, zip line, raft. If it’s outdoor fun , you will find it here. We do have WiFi set up in this home and we have great cell signal. This home has a step up, slight slope in floor in kitchen, and stairs to get to the water, so it is not considered accessible for disabled. The 1940 a chimney is not safe to use so we have electric insert for ambiance and warmth.

Cozy kid- free time
Such a great, clean, and comfy/cozy spot! We loved hiking, exploring the area during the day. The evenings were spent relaxing in the river out back and enjoying local restaurants.

Best Friend Getaway
What an amazing piece of paradise!! This was our first visit to the Chimney Rock/Lake Lure area and we are already making plans to go back with our families and have designated this as our cabin and vacation spot for our girls’ trip next summer. Everything about your cozy riverside cabin was perfect from the moment we walked in. We were greeted with a personalized note, baked goods and all of the necessities needed for our stay. The owners were extremely responsive to any questions throughout our stay and the check-out process was the simplest that I have experienced with a VRBO rental. Our favorite part of our stay was all about the river - whether it was coffee on the deck in the morning, drinks on the deck listening to the river in the evening or wading in the afternoons- IT WAS MAGICAL!!! On our final morning while having our coffee, a bald eagle flew down the river as a farewell. Thank you so much for sharing your cabin and hospitality with us. We cannot wait to return!

Had a wonderful stay at the cozy cabin. The riverfront deck was so relaxing and was our favorite place to spend time. The cabin was very cute and clean. It was also stocked with everything we needed. We definitely look forward to another stay in the future!

Great area
The house is adorable, very clean, had absolutely everything we needed in the way of whole household products. The deck overlooks the river, we spent a good amount of time just sitting on the deck listening to the river roll. My husband did some fly fishing and my little pups enjoyed the great outdoors. After the long relaxing day we hopped in the jacuzzi, which was very clean and maintained. The house is super close to a lot of downtown activities, wineries, restaurants, music, and antique shops. I would highly recommend!

A wonderful home!
We enjoyed our stay so much! The house was just as it is portrayed on the website, was very clean and quaint. Getting down to the river was easy and we enjoyed listening to the water while rocking on the deck. We did a lot of walking while there so we used the hot tub in the evenings. I would highly recommend this little cabin to anyone. And Lee and Amanda are so so easy to work with! Very nice people!

What a great little spot!
We had a great time at this little cabin. Very cozy! Loved the easy access to Hendersonville, chimney rock, etc. The cabin is on the main road and the bedroom faces the road, so since I’m a light sleeper, I did have a little trouble with the car noise early in the morning but I knew that going in because their description of the property is very detailed. It didn’t discourage me from booking or staying again. Bed and couch are comfy! I loved the river access and can’t wait to come back when it’s warm. They had everything we needed for a great long weekend. Thanks for a great stay!

Great rustic creekside cabin
We loved this cabin! Great location on the river that gave plenty of opportunity for fishing or just sitting on the deck and relaxing. Short drive to the restaurants and shops of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. We've fallen in love with the area and will stay at this cabin as often as possible.

Cabin getaway
We had a wonderful stay at the cabin with amazing views of the river and woods behind the cabin. It was clean, cozy, had a wonderfully comfortable bed. It is located in a tiny town and had many options for meals. We also drove 30 minutes into Asheville to go see Old-time Country Music and Blue Grass music at Jack of the Woods, a bar & grill. We also enjoyed Burntshirts Wine tasting bar, in Chimney Rock Village, which serves small plates and entrées. We went hiking in Chimney Rock State park & the Wildcat hiking trail. We were a little early in the season for fall leaves, but mangaged to find the south end of the Blue Ridge Parkway had a lot of trees changing (10/4). Thank you Amanda for your hospitality!

Nice getaway
The pictures and description are as advertised. Clean and cozy cottage for two. Easy to find right off a main highway. Parking is adequate. There is one neighbor who is very close, but we never did see or hear them. The cabin is also very close to the road. We stayed during the week and the traffic did not interrupt our sleep. Just a warning—You have to be cautious if bringing pets. Keep them on a short leash when taking them outside or they could walk in the road very easily. There is a small patch of grass by the road for the dogs to relieve themselves. There is more grass down the steps by the river. However, we were warned by a neighbor that bears frequently use these same steps when searching the neighborhood for food at night. We did not see any bears on our trip. And just a friendly reminder, be a good pet parent and clean up after your dogs. We were hoping for a fire pit, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. The cabin was clean and organized. It had everything that we needed. The king size bed was comfortable. The bathroom and shower were on the small side for us along with the hot tub. (We are larger adults). It didn’t stop us though from enjoying our trip. The best part, in our opinion, was the deck overlooking the river. It was so peaceful and relaxing sitting out there watching the water flow over the rocks. The propane grill worked great and the outdoor rocking chairs were comfortable. I would highly recommend this cabin if you are looking to stay in the Bat Cave area.

River lovers dream
My husband and I enjoyed our 23rd anniversary in this rustic, fun, funky, and dog friendly cabin. The large balcony overlooks the beautiful Rocky Broad River which you can access by your private staircase. You can enjoy lounging on the huge boulders and dip your feet or body(if you’re daring enough)in the cool water. The sound of its gentle rushing will ease your stress away and lull you into a state of contentment. We found the location to be quite ideal as it was just minutes from downtown Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Also very easy to get to all the beautiful wineries in the Hendersonville area. The only thing not totally ideal for us was the close proximity to the road which made dog walking a challenge. There is so much to do and see in this area!! We look forward to coming back here!

Riverside Getaway
My husband and I celebrated our 40th anniversary traveling in the NC mountains. Our 4 days at this adorable cabin were our most relaxing! The cabin was clean, comfortable, and well stocked with anything we could have needed. The back deck overlooking the river was our favorite spot! The river runs through huge rocks and provides the most relaxing views and sounds. We fished and lounged on the rocks. My favorite thing was watching the sunset while sitting on the rocks. We enjoyed spending time in the Chimney Rock/Lake Lure area at Burntshirt Vineyard Tasting Room, Chimney Rock Brewing Co., and Appalachia Restaurant. Sierra Nevada Brewery and Postera Restaurant in Hendersonville were a short drive and we highly recommend. The cabin does sit close to the road, but that was not a problem for us. The location by the river was exactly what we wanted! We look forward to staying at this cozy cabin again soon.

River Cabin Charmer
This lil cabin packs in a lot of great features. Incredibly clean and well planned. Full access to play on and around the river rocks directly behind the house. The sounds of the rushing waters are so relaxing from the deck rockers. The hot tub is right around the corner in a tucked in garden area next to the side door. Perfectly relaxing. The home itself is roomier than you might think from the pictures. The bed was big and comfy and the furniture was too. Most of the necessary consumable supplies were provided and appliances were supplied and easily accessible as well. Just bring in your food. The deck views spectacular. We saw a Blue Heron, River Otters, hummingbirds, hawks, fresh bear scat in the back yard (no bear sighted though) and even saw a few water snakes in the water we were playing in. The full nature experience. The location is ideal to various recreational areas and food. Shops and restaurants are within a few miles of the house. *The only noteworthy negative is the road noise especially on the weekends with motorcycles and big trucks. BUT we believe the many positives about this home work to outweigh the noisy negatives. We had a great time and left relaxed and grateful for our time away at the cozy cabin in Bat Cave, NC.

What a cute and well-maintained cabin!! Just perfect for a getaway with my husband. The cabin was clean, comfortable and well equipped. To top it off, the bed was amazingly comfortable!! Very quaint cabin, well maintained and great location near all activities in Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Most special was the back deck overlooking the river. Cutest cottage on the river
Hubby and I wanted a quiet weekend. We could not have imagined a better short few days. The cottage is equipped top to bottom. Every inch was used in a way we needed nothing. If we weren’t in the river we sat on the porch listening to it. Cozy, quaint just perfect. Great location. The road was not an issue and either was the cute bear we saw. We were in awe every morning by a blue heron. Thanks for the coffee and muffins!

We loved this cabin! It was very clean and comfortable. The king sized bed was so comfortable, too. The hosts were very easy to work with. While there, we visited Chimney Rock and the village, Lake Lure, Apple Valley Golf Course, and took a short drive to DuPont Forest and Pisgah National Forest. The back deck with the river view was our favorite place to be in the morning for coffee and evening to relax after a fun filled day. We will definitely be back. Tami and Fount Delray Beach, FL
