Great Fisherman’s Location / Great Non-Fisherman Getaway!

I was a little nervous renting this property since it had no reviews and a short (but it turns out very accurate) description. But my worries were for naught— everything worked out perfectly!! First the building itself - a very cute, cozy cottage reminiscent of the good old days. It is very well decorated and clean as could be. There was a small but functional kitchen, with an efficiency size fridge, a stove and working oven, and a good assortment of pots, pans, dishes, silverware and such. There was even a starter supply of coffee and sugar (thankfully since we had forgotten ours). The combo living area/bedroom was sized for two… a love seat facing a nice sized TV, a dresser and a very comfortable queen sized bed. The bathroom was small but functional, with a sink, shower, toilet - all the essentials. There was internet service and Sling TV available, The outside of the cottage was also well maintained, with a nice porch with rockers, enough yard for our 21’ bass boat and our long bed crew cab truck. There was also a wonderful community garden with tomatoes, herbs, eggplant, as well as a cute little apple tree. There was a bike shed and a notice that you could use bikes around town, but we didn’t have the opportunity to try them out as we were there on a fishing trip. The location is perfect for fishing — it is about 1/10 of a mile from the boat launch, and just a short run to Lake Ontario or up the St. Lawrence. There is such a great abundance of good water for fishing - bass, walleye, pike, perch…. It’s about 15-20 miles to Clayton on the water, and there is on-water gas available there for convenience. Up another 15-20 miles and you hit the American Narrows and then Alexandria Bay. We found the location and the owners very pleasant and will definitely connect again should we have the opportunity to be in the area!
