Everything was wonderful. The house is very clean and very well decorated. Great location close to the park and just a short walk to the beach. Cape Charles has become our new go to beach.
This property and host were fantastic. We loved the historical aspect of this home with the added modern touches. The location is perfect - can walk anywhere you want to go.
We would definitely stay here again.
Our group was made up of four adults and two kids ages 6 and 9. The house was clean and well appointed for our needs. We had a wonderful stay. The supplied beach cart was a simple thing but helped quite a bit. We would stay again.
We enjoyed our stay at this duplex. It has tons of historic charm. The beds are extremely comfortable. Everyone slept great! We especially liked having a king sized bed in the master.
The kitchen is well stocked but doesn’t have a dishwasher which wasn’t an issue for us. We enjoyed our mornings on the front porch and loved the proximity to the park. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
It was our 4th time staying at this property—close to the park, an easy walk to the beach and the shops in town. Love sitting on the front porch with coffee and a book!
Great stay! first time in Cape Charles. This house had a central location close to the park in downtown. Walkable great description great place with friends and pups would stay again.
This was our 5th visit to Cape Charles and we have stayed at different properties each time. We spent 5 nights at Cape Serendipity with our family of 5 in June 2024. We very much appreciated the modern bathrooms, strong air conditioning, plentiful hot water for showers, and comfortable beds. The house was also very well-stocked in terms of beach gear and toiletries (we didn't cook much so can't speak to the kitchen, but it certainly had everything we needed). The house was spotless when we arrived. My only note for future renters: the two smaller bedrooms get a lot of natural light but don't have thick drapes, so if you have kids who go to bed early, I'd recommend bringing temporary stick-on shades in the summer. Thanks for a great stay!
We loved our stay at Cape Serendipity. Elizabeth was readily available during the check-in process, and the home was clean and well stocked. Our kids, 8 and 6, really enjoyed the nearby park. The beach was also in walking distance, and we loved the sunsets in the evening.
We had a great trip to Cape Charles. The house was perfect for our two kids and dog. You're walking distance to everything at Cape Serendipity and the beach was still pleasant in October and great for the kids with the water being so shallow. They had a pack and play, child gate, and a high chair there already! The only thing that could have made the stay better would have been blackout curtains. The kids were up with the sun each morning, but that did help us enjoy our trip to the fullest! We highly recommend this house!
We chose Cape Serendipity because of it's central location to the beach, bars/restaurants and the park for the Saturday night concert. It did not disappoint! We were pleasantly surprised at the spacious rooms, the lovely back porch, and how well supplied it was. Elizabeth was very helpful with several logistics as we prepared to ride our bicycles from Snow Hill, MD to Cape Charles for the weekend. It was a great value and we would definitely stay again!
We had a wonderful vacation in Cape Charles, we have been coming down for years, it never disappoints! The house was wonderful, had everything you need for a great vacation. The house was clean and had all the essentials plus, loved the front porch and back deck. The host was great, answered any questions or requests we had. We looked forwarded to another stay in the future.
We had such a lovely time staying at Cape Serendipity. The kitchen had everything you need to make cooking easy. The home is cozy and inviting. We felt at home there. Our kids absolutely loved it. It sits in the heart of Cape Charles, and the neighborhood is charming. We will definitely stay there again!!
We came for the Chincoteague Pony Swim and are so glad we stayed in Cape Charles. It was so charming we just wandered around Cape Charles on Thursday. The house is charming, every item you would ever need is there!! We stayed cool even is a heat advisory.
We had the pleasure of spending our Cape Charles vacation in this lovely home. Well maintained, great location, well stocked kitchen and absolutely wonderful showers and beds! The home is charming and cares for. Love the porch and deck!
The house is perfect for a family, great location with nice outdoor space and proximity to all the fun Cape Charles has to offer! Host was very communicative with check in and any needs we came upon during our stay. We will definitely be back!
This was our 3rd time staying at this lovely historic house! We were so excited to see the new first floor bathroom and deck. The house is close to everything and beautifully decorated. It has everything you need for a wonderful vacation in Cape Charles. We can’t wait to come back again!
We loved our relaxing stay at Cape Serendipity -- such a charming historic home. The home offered so many thoughtful amenities throughout, and it has a newly added extra bathroom on the main floor, which was super convenient for our kids. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality!
From the moment we arrived we fell in love with Cape Serendipity. It was perfect for our family. Location, character, and amenities. The front porch was delightful!
We loved this house! It had so much character, was very clean and comfortable. They left us some wine and coffee too! We had a wonderful stay and absolutely would return!
Only thing I might say is this house is not baby proofed for a toddler. Our granddaughter was not crawling yet so it was no problem.
Well maintained old 1/2 house with nice amenities and thoughtful extras; ideal for a couple or small family with young kids. An easy 10-12 minute walk to the beach.
The one bathroom is nicely equipped with both tub and shower, but it is just one bathroom and that may be an issue for larger groups.
We were briefly locked out due to dead batteries in the keypad, but Property Manager Elizabeth came to our rescue and all was promptly resolved.
All in All, Cape Serendipity was a wonderful place to stay for this couple and our two dogs!
The house is a lovely and quaint house with great accommodations for young children. The furniture
is also comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the front
porch also. It was a very relaxed atmosphere. Being so close to the park is also a benefit.
The caretaker was immediately available when we had a
situation that needed attention in the house.
