Two bedroom top level unit across the road from Home Beach.

Top level unit at the Islander Resort overlooking the pool, and the native bushland. It is just a short stroll to Home Beach.

Two air-conditioned Bedrooms (1 king, 3 singles) with ceiling fans, 1 bathroom. Kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and Nespresso Machine, WIFI, TV and DVD player, second TV in main bedroom. Front load washing machine, dryer. One undercover car park. Communal BBQ area in the complex.

Location!

Although being on the top floor and no elevator it was a great apartment for our needs,not perfect and some things need attention from the owners but I’m sure they are aware of this. Large beach breeze facing balcony and the layout was perfect for us. No air conditioning in the common area but has fans, lots of windows and natural light. We had a couple of issue that needed attention right away but Ray White who manage it were excellent with helping us out even though it was during the Christmas/Boxing day period. I don’t feel it is fair to go into details of what happened because I’m confident Ray White will make sure things are as should be for anyone’s visit. We would be happy to stay here again.

Great location facing away from the pool with ample space and small creature comforts. Fresh clean linen provided. Unfortunately floors were extrememly dirty and sandy and shoes inside were a must to avoid black feet. Also it would be a good idea to note there are no lifts and being on the top floor is quite a journey with fair luggage. If staying for more than a weekend be prepared to bring your own bin liners/bags, toilet paper, chux/cleaning cloth, cooking oil, tongs and BBQ utensils.

Furnishings old and shabby, outdoor decks grubby and unkept, indoor lampshades full of dead insects, verging on shamefull presentation. Glad it was just one night.

Great stay at the Islander

The property is quite spacious and has lovely views of the surrounding trees. Cross ventilation was great and the kitchen is huge. Suggestions: It could have used a good sweep as the floors were sandy. Information regarding the wifi should be listed on the welcome card. Otherwise a wonderful stay on Straddie.

Lovely Stay in Point Lookout

We loved our stay at the Islander. The pool and tennis court were good fun. Would have been nice to have racquets provided in the unit but that would have just been a bonus. Good location straight across the road from the beach. Lots of lovely cafes and the gelato at the Oceanic is the best! The bowls club is also lots of fun with barefoot bowls available and great food within walking distance from the Islander. The reception staff at the Islander were very helpful even though they weren't our hosts.

Comfortable and spacious

We had a good stay, very close to a beautiful beach, Not far to main shops and cafes at Point lookout Nice cafe right next door. Apartment could do with some work-lighting etc. Really needs a more secure door lock or a deadbolt. overall we had a great time here and would probably stay again.

Well situated apartment

The apartment was on the top floor of a white Spanish building which looked out on a pool, tennis court and well kept lawn. There was an open-plan kitchen, dining and loungeroom. Cylinder Beach was a short walk away and the local store was well stocked. A very relaxing place to stay. I stayed on the third floor - there is no lift.

17 Islander Resort

Very roomy, clean and beds were comfortable. Kitchen well appointed. Plenty of hot water. Pool excellent and if you like tennis, there are tennis racquets provided. A bit expensive for the age of the property. Undercover car parking spaces ridiculously small. Needs air con in the living area. If there hadn’t been a good breeze it would have been unbearable. However, good position and a nice place to stay.

Great Straddie Getaway not a traffic light no Macdonalds.

Reviewer Comments: We have been coming since 1975 and it is still a unique island with relatively untouched environment with unique habitat and special grey kangaroo tribe. We enjoy in our old age calm swimming at Amity Point and Brown Lake. The unit 17 whilst has challenging five flights of stairs is a very nice Villa. Palatial with nice coffee, we loved it.

Reviewer Comments: The unit is basically a nice spacious open light unit with a nice outlook but it is seriously very dirty and the furnishings are way below par. Although the unit had a good surface clean there are areas including verandahs that are disgusting, loads of junk left in cupboards, mould in lots of places, very smelly toilet - overall diminishes the joy.

Old and tired

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Needs some updating. Needed a better clean. Take your own toaster as the one there is so old and burnt and dirty it is a health hazard. Take toilet paper only 1 supplied. Can’t think of much good things to say other than kids loved tennis court. Was raining so didn’t use pool.

Best place for complete rest and restore.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was a time when we were looking for a complete overall relaxation. We found this at the Islander. A few stairs to travel for us 75 year olds. But it was good exercise which left us fit and rejuvenated and healthy once again. A complete rest and restoration, thank you and maybe in the future if affordable for retirees will definitely be back again.

Reviewer Comments: Our stay was let down by not having access to high speed internet (a requirement to remain in contact with work) despite being advertised on the website I phoned on arrival ( a week day Thursday) and was unable to have this rectified and did not get a return call back most dissatisfied . The verandas were quite messy and the internal floors had considerable sand on floor on arrival

Comfortable and easy access to home beach

Top floor unit #17 provides comfortable enough beds and lounge. Two tvs which is helpful. Good size balcony. Plenty of space in the unit. Good sea breeze. Minutes to walk to home beach and cafe next door. Only downside is no lift, so a lot of stairs but you do get use to it, just don't leave anything in the car otherwise it will stay till the next trip. Would be nice to have a bbq on the verandah rather than having to use the community one all the time. Great having a pool in the complex. Peaceful environment.
