We had a great stay. The location was central to everything we wanted to do in and around Asheville. The house had more than enough room. Was well stocked with all you need for a week’s stay. We will definitely visit again.

Fabulous place, superb vacation
We (all 5 of us …friends for between 40 and 47 years) met here, coming from Connecticut and Florida. The home is amazing. We wanted for absolutely nothing. The views, the decks, and every room was stunning. We could not have had a better place! Thank you so much. Every little touch was so greatly appreciated! We visited Asheville, the Biltmore and Chihuly exhibit, and took the Great Smoky Mountain Railway during our stay. Eating at Curate was such a treat! Everything was perfect.

Beautiful and well appointed home
We came for the herb festival at the ag center and it was only about 15 minutes away, so the location was great. We did lots of cooking and visiting and the home was perfect for this. The kitchen is very well equipped. The only thing that was less than ideal were the stairs. I just didn’t realize they were steep and rather short so my oldest sister had some trouble with them. Other than that, everything was really lovely and perfect for my siblings and I to gather and enjoy each other’s company. Highly recommend!

Relaxing trip to Asheville.
Cold Moose was lovely. It had plenty of space for the 6 of us. Our kids loved the basement, the intercom system and the catwalk above the living room. The space was clean and well stocked. The four full bathrooms were great. There were plenty of towels, toilet paper, paper, towels, trash bags, etc. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We were approximately 20 minutes from each Asheville attraction we wanted to visit during our stay. We are definitely considering coming back and bringing our other family members.

Our 7th time staying at Cold Moose Cabin
You read that correctly. My group of 6 friends (women now in their forties) have stayed in this house every year, for 7 years straight. We don’t even discuss where to stay for our annual Girl’s Trip anymore! Perfect location, great views, great decks, plenty of space, and a terrific host. You will not be disappointed!

Great house, great location
We loved this house. It was in a rural setting but 10 minutes to restaurants and stores and 20 minutes to downtown Asheville, The Biltmore, and the Arboretum. We felt like we had the best of all worlds. It was the best-stocked rental we have ever had. Would highly recommend this house for anyone interested in spending some time near Asheville in a very bucolic setting.

Mountain Peace
We chose Cold Moose Cabin for the location, its welcoming descriptions and its being very dog friendly. The house is so clean and organized—probably the most thoughtful short stay rental place we’ve visited—everything well stocked and labeled. Love the colors and decks. Like being in a tree house. We accidentally packed a flex retractable dog leash with ours and will send it back this week. Oops! Dog walking supplies right by the door. Also the library’s worth of books downstairs is amazing. Incredible variety of classics etc.

Great location and house
This house is in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to Asheville, Black Mountain, the Blue Ridge Parkway and many other sites. It had plenty of room for our family of 6 adults and one teen and provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay. I would highly recommend it and definitely consider returning. (Also no scary driveway.)

Great place to gather family
The place was very clean. We had a great time meeting family here plenty of room. Was pretty close to ashville The place had plenty of beds and plenty of supplies for everything we needed. We brought supplies not knowing what we would need but everything was there for us. Only suggestion would be to trim some of the trees in front of the deck for a little better view but it stay was awesome. I would definitely go back to this house again

Close to the city but far away
This is our fifth time staying at Cold Moose Cabin and every time we cant wait to come back. It's close enough to Asheville we can run in for breakfast and close enough to Hendersonville we can drive down for lunch. Aside from the peace and quiet there's that mountain view that never seems to be quite the same evert day. My wife is already bugging to make another reservation.

Christmas in the mountains
We had a lovely time spending Christmas at Cold Moose Cabin and made many new memories together. There are many sliding doors on all three floors and seeing the mountains everyday was just lovely. The home is filled with comfortable beds, furniture, and a complete kitchen with all the things you need to use to cook. Having 4 bathrooms was great! Our grandchildren, ages 2, 6, and 10 had plenty of room to play. They were excited as we made ornaments for the tree and baked cookies to decorate. We are very familiar with the Asheville area and enjoyed visiting our favorite places, the Biltmore, NC Arboretum, downtown Asheville and especially Twin Leaf Brewery (our son's brewery). The owners are very quick to answer you too if you have any questions. We would totally recommend staying here. Happy New Year! Linda & Scott

Great family place !!
Love this place ! We stayed at Cold Moose Lodge several years ago and it's even better now. It was immaculate. Everything we needed was provided. And being dog friendly was the icing on the cake. My (adult) kids were thrilled with the deer walking past the house. Close to downtown Asheville. Just a great all around home. If there is anything negative I could say, it would be the stairs. It's a tri-level house.

We moved to Asheville in 2005 from Denver, Colorado. We wanted to live out in the country and found our house in a small rural neighborhood south of Asheville. We loved the open floor plan and views of Mt. Pisgah on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Over the years we hosted many parties and overnight guests and received so many positive comments about the house that we decided to try the vacation rental option in 2015. We love Asheville and wanted to continue to use our home so this seemed like the perfect arrangement.
We have worked in the field of natural resources throughout our careers. I enjoyed a 32-year career with the US Forest Service that took me throughout the southeast and Colorado. In 2011 I retired from the National Forests in North Carolina. Bill continues his forestry career mapping forest resources across the US. When we’re not enjoying the Asheville scene, we live on our farm in Georgia. In the foyer is a charcoal sketch done by our daughter of our farm house that Bill built. We have three children and five grandchildren.
Needless to say, Asheville and western North Carolina have been a mecca for us with our lifelong interest in the outdoors. We know some of the best places in the area for outdoor recreation. For instance, we know where you can view up close wild elk in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We can direct you to some of the most outstanding waterfalls in the southeast and places to whitewater raft and kayak. Our favorite spot is Max Patch near the North Carolina/Tennessee border where you can hike a short section of the Appalachian Trail and picnic in an open meadow with panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
We know you’ll love your visit to Asheville. Your biggest challenge will be deciding what to see and do during your visit. There is such a variety of options! You will want to return time and again to see it all!
