Lyenna is situated on the East Coast of Tasmania at Orford about an hour's drive from Hobart. Orford is a quiet holiday town, filled with shacks primarily owned by families from Hobart. ‘Shacks’ are Tassie vernacular for holiday homes, normally coastal-based.

One of the owners of Lyenna spent childhood summers in Orford and despite moving away from Tasmania decades ago, never forgot the village and those childhood experiences. He has returned countless times over the last few decades and when the opportunity arose to build on a block of land at the mouth of the Prosser River, which runs through the town - he leapt at it. An architect was commissioned with a brief to design a three bedroom holiday home that would make full use of the stunning views, provide a number of areas for guests to relax and, importantly, to keep things simple - the magic of Lyenna lies in the environment immediately in front of the property.
