Lots of potential

The house looked fantastic online in pictures and description. Like several other reviews have said, property lacks curb appeal upon entry and needs a major refresh. The cleaning job when we arrived was inadequate. What it really needs is a major deep clean. Many bedspreads were dirty, some with stains and the pillows were gross (lumpy and most had stains). We went out and bought our own. The sheets were supposed to be “higher quality” but were scratchy and uncomfortable to sleep on. The house is huge, lots of space for multiple families to stay. The outdoor space needs a major power wash too. Bugs everywhere on the house (and many inside the house) and lots of rust/dirt. My daughter even stepped on a rusty nail on the deck. Lots of potential for the house to be great. Location is perfect. Sandbridge is quiet, there’s an easy path to the beach which was never very busy or overcrowded. I would not stay in this house again.

The location and set up of the house were awesome but the property definitely needs some TLC.

Part of our party arrived 20 minutes before check in and nothing has been touched, o we contacted the management company and they told us they would send people over. The house was finished when we went back 2 hours later but we suspect many beds had not been changed as they were sandy. We washed the sheets and remade the beds ourselves. Three of the toilets on the first floor were ready to be replaced, one had a broken flushing mechanism, one ran non-stop and one had a broken seat which presented a problem for my 80 year old father. I contacted the property manager but never heard back. The location and set up of the house were great, but it definitely needed a deep clean inside and out.

Ruined my vacation week in this house

Upon checking in we noticed a huge hole in the ceiling and that the outside grounds were very dirty. The pool table needs to be replaced and one stick was broken. The kitchen was huge and had adequate cooking items. The oven was filthy and the coffee pot was dirty and had coffee still in it. The bedrooms were all clean and very spacious. We had ants on the wet bar area first night and a very nice gentleman came and sprayed and we had no other issues. The outside back area was very dirty needs to be power washed. The grill was also filthy and had no propane. We could barely light it without it almost catching fire. The basement bedroom shower kept over flowing. It was supposedly fixed twice. The hot tub did not work the entire time we were there so we could not use it. The pool guy was very rude. Some guys showed up to work on the deck and replace wood although they were pleasant it was so inappropriate and loud. I called the manger several times and was always told she was busy or not working. I left several messages she has not responded at all. For the amount of money we paid the house it not worth it at all . We deserve some sort of refund but we have yet to hear back from the manger. This property is not worth the money look and some other places trust me . I had to call customer service daily for some type issue.

Nice big home, made for a fun time

The pictures looked amazing on the VRBO website and that’s what sold us on this property. There were pluses and minuses to staying here. Pluses are there is plenty of room, loved that each bedroom has its own bathroom, plenty of tvs, pool table, the extra fridge came in handy, and Alexa was fun for everyone to play music for dancing. Cons: Not the cleanest. Guests who choose to walk barefoot indoors had the bottoms of their feet turn completely black. We had the maid come out to mop, it was slightly better after the mopping but their feet still turned color afterwards; this time the color blue likely from pool table chalk. The garbage disposal did not work and a plumber had to come out but could not fix it, then an electrician was sent out who DID fix the disposal. Yay! Then we got to washing clothes on the first floor and the washing machine did not work. We were done with waiting around for handy men and decided to not bother with calling to report the washing machine so we all used the upstairs washing machine instead. When we sat outside by the pool we had ants crawling on us. And the upstairs deck areas look quaint and inviting to sit outside and read, but the area was filled with spider webs and “I don’t know what?“...maybe they are tiny bugs of some sort that died....it definitely needs a power washing. The walk to the beach is perfect, there is a walking trail that takes you right to the beach. Overall, my group had a great time. You have to love the Sandbridge area, it’s away from the hustle of VA Beach and so charming and cute.

Beautiful house and space, short walk to beach

Loved our stay at this house! The set up of the living space and bedrooms is perfect for a big group and the kitchen had everything we needed. We utilized the hottub, pool, and volleyball court so were very satisfied with the outdoor amenities too! Very convenient to pathways to the beach too. I would definitely look into staying here again if in the Sandbridge area in the future!

Nicely laid out home

The home with 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms had a nice floor plan for our family group of 13( 8 adults,5 kids ages7-2) The bedrooms were on the first and third floor so it was relatively quiet. There were lots of tvs, the pool and hot tub were very nice and clean. The kitchen was very nice sized with 2 long tables that worked out well. There was lots of room for the kids and adults to play and hang out. The outside shower was very nice. When we got there we noticed some ants but as it turned out the ants were everywhere on all 3 floors. The property manager answered my texts right away and sent someone out to spray the whole home. He needed to come out a second time a few days later. This was disappointing. The kitchen did not seem well stocked with enough mixing bowls or platters. There were plenty of plates, bowls and silverware. I was also surprised that there wasn’t any salt, pepper, Saran Wrap that all other VRBO homes that we’ve stayed at have. The bedspreads and decorative pillow coverings in some of the bedrooms needed to be cleaned. We all had a great time there but I would unfortunately not go back to this home. I think a good deep cleaning; power wash decks, clean bed coverings, clean some cloth furnishings and this would be a great home. And get the ant problem under control.

Family vacation

The house had lots of room as advertised. We loved the pool and the proximity to the beach. The pool table was a big hit. We did have problems with ants requiring us to throw away some food. Also the televisions didn’t work for most of the week. Only other thing is that the hot tub shorted out several times and was difficult to restart.

Great place for a 40th

Rented for a long weekend to celebrate my 40th birthday. Friends and family were in town from NY and NJ and there was plenty of room for everyone. Property was as described. Would stay there again

A lot of room for the family

This home has a fantastic layout! Our large family had enough space to be really comfortable all week! Love the rooms on the top and bottom floors and the main space in the middle! Really close walk to the beach and we enjoyed the pool daily! It was great to have such a large kitchen and dining table. We loved being able to cook and have dinner together nightly. The only thing that I would say negatively is that the home, being as beautiful as it is, was not cleaned well. We found that the bathrooms, outside patio areas and floors were pretty dirty and maybe not cleaned from the guests before us. It just seems that this wonderful property needs a lot of maintenance too, I’m sure it takes a lot of wear and tear from being at the beach and being rented out frequently but we just felt like that for the money you spend, it did not live up to the pristine photos that it had. But overall we had a wonderful family week together at this fantastic home and loved the location.

Poor to Excellent

This a great house but poorly managed. This is a perfect house for a large family, the owner has provided a great venue. However, the place was not clean when we arrived, in particular the kitchen and dining area, but other areas as well. They brought someone over to clean, but, it was a waste of time. I sent a 2 1/2 page letter to the management company several weeks ago and they have not responded. The coffee (3) pots were so beaten up they would not work, the silverware drawer needed to be cleaned. To save time, we had to clean the place up. The dining chairs were so dirty, we did not use half of them. Finally, the ants were horrendous. While they did respond to inquiry about problems quickly, some of this could have been avoided by following a well thought out TO DO LIST, prior to arrival. I might mention that VRBO is not easy to make a complaint to either. We decided to have a great time in spite of the dirt.

Fantastic House

This is an amazing property. We had run out of propane on the second day, but after a quick call, someone was there in no time replacing it. There was plenty of space for my friends and family for our vacation last year. Having a private in the bedrooms was awesome. It was a quick 5 minute walk (if that!) to the beach. The beach volleyball court offered many many hours of entertainment for the adults as well as the kids! We are beginning to plan for next years vacation and we all would definitely stay at this house again.

Great Place

We celebrated our 60th Anniversary here with most of our entire family. The house was everything we thought it would be and more. We had a few issues but they were taken care of immediately. The house is spacious, well equipped, not far from beach, a great place to relax and enjoy. We loved it!!

Stayed here recently with extended family for a week. The house was amazing. Clean and beautiful. Whenever we had an issue (rarely) the management team handled it immediately. We had the best time here abd would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone! Fantastic.
