Amazing views and beautiful setting.
Liz was available for any issues we had and was very friendly. The cottage is beautifully decorated, extremely clean and cozy. There were lots of personal touches that made our stay special (eg. homemade jams, vegemite, fresh plums, and personal recommendations from Liz). It would be perfect for a small family. ..fitted all 5 of us for a short stay, but would be a little cramped for a long stay. We loved the outdoor deck and ate most of our meals out there. The kids loved the trampoline and enjoyed berry picking next door. The property is located about 5-8 mins drive out of town in idyllic surrounds. The sunset was just beautiful out our windows. Just be aware that although there is a fridge in the property, there is no freezer...don't buy ice cream like we did before we arrived (but if you do, melted icecream and fresh crushed berry milkshakes are quite delicious!) Thanks Liz for a relaxing stay in your cottage.

Exploring the areas attractions
We chose this place to stay as it was fairly central to many of the things we wanted to do (caves, jet boats, hikes, Rotorua etc) but we wanted to stay somewhere rural and quiet. It is a beautiful property and cottage. There is a Berry farm right next door that does fresh fruit ice cream which is delicious! The property posting said there was laundry available but didn't mention it was 10 per wash/dry...would be good to add that detail for future guests. Would definitely stay here again!

Very nice and highly recommended
The charm of the unit rests in its surroundings. The view from the kitchen window or deck is stunning as the property is next to a berry farm. There are cows, chickens, and a few pheasants. The unit is approximately 400 square feet but has what's needed for a short to medium stay. It's close to town or the Pak'n Save, so it's possible to experience nature without being too far away from necessities. Liz and Martyn are helpful and charming as hosts.

Perfect get away
There were three of us at Berry View and there were two bedrooms so privacy for each. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchenette was well fitted out, clean, and had everything we needed for meals and snacks. The bathroom was beautifully clean and had some necessary items for those who might have forgotten certain things. The towel warmer ensured that you had dry and warm towels - lovely. The hosts were lovely and gave us the gift of some fresh mandarins, but were not invasive and gave us plenty of privacy. The view of the Berry farm was lovely and restful and watching the chickens wandering around was fun. Wifi worked very well which was important for us as we still had to be connected for work. Overall a lovely stay and well worth it. Many thanks for your hospitality and lovely clean premises.

A Central Oasis for Your Relaxation Needs
The area around Te Awamutu and Te Awamutu itself offer so many things to do that Berry View Cottage was the perfect oasis to come home to each night. I stayed for a few days while exploring the area and Liz provided suggestions for every possible type of traveler. Once in the cottage, it was pristine and well decked out for all your needs. She also offers a wide variety of add ons, should you need them or be interested. Parking was convenient, but the absolute best part was the view of the berry farm you get to wake up to each morning! I would highly recommend you book this gem before it gets snapped out from under you! A definite must-stay. Liz was always super responsive to all messages and very thorough in her user manual once in the cottage.

About the host

Hosted by Liz Owen

Host profile image
Hi, we are your hosts, Liz and Martyn. With our family we live on a fabulous quiet lifestyle property in the lush Te Awamutu countryside. We have a hobby orchard and garden, often selling our fresh produce at the local farmers market or turning it into wonderful jam and preserves. It is great we live so close to a fabulous lake to indulge our waterskiing passion.

Why they chose this property

Families, travelers, sporting participants and business people alike will enjoy the benefit of the fully self contained cottage with the convenience of linen provided. When we traveled we enjoyed meeting people in their homes and in the countryside. We fell in love with this property with it's tree lined drive, beautiful mature canopy, fruit trees and quiet ambiance, and we invite others to share in our little piece of paradise. The cottage sits adjacent to our family home.

What makes this property unique

Our cottage has such as beautiful countryside outlook over the majestic Mt Pirongia and sweeping country views of the Berry Farm and kahikatea trees. We opened our guest cottage after a major renovation and we are delighted with the results of our labour. Guests can enjoy a modern and private, well appointed cottage, with all the delights of home as we have invested in comfortable beds, electric vehicle charging, gas hot water controller, air conditioning, insect screens and a large outdoor deck for enjoying outdoor eating and fresh air.
