Superb

What a lovely week we had in this beautiful seaside home! Warm days on the beach, cocktails in the garden and falling asleep to the sound of the surf. The rooms are bright, lots of windows for wonderful ocean breezes. Beds are comfortable; appliances, furniture, etc are very good quality. We had everything we needed. We enjoyed local restaurants a few nights and went on the Matunuck Oyster Farm tour - just an hour but fun. We walked the trails at Trustom Pond Refuge - beautiful. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

Location and Relaxation

We couldn't ask for much more from a vacation rental. The location is superb being only about 100 yards to the beach through your own private hedge tunnel. It is also close to Rte 1 making all of southern RI very accessible. A theater and one-mile field trail are located at the end of the drive. The beach is a mix of sand and stone (rounded stone) which thins the crowds, but adds to privacy. Waves are usually good - bring water shoes. We were comfortable with four people in the first floor rental. The lodging is simple and clean, and if you like, you can listen to the waves all evening. Shelagh, the host, was welcoming and very helpful on local activities. We do recommend the rental and will likely be back.

A great week of beautiful sunrises, lovely gardens, beach picnics, sounds of waves and a full moon.

Shelagh's "cottage" was so cute, clean, and comfortably furnished. The kitchen was well equipped, the towels and sheets were fluffy, and the hot and cold outdoor shower in my mind the ultimate summer luxury. Shelagh and her adorable lab pup greeted me and were such a help suggesting great walks and enjoyable activities, including the near-by beach. I really enjoyed her cottage and look forward to returning.

Relaxing beach get away

The property was beautiful and even better than we thought it would be. Our host was incredibly friendly and helpful, and we truly enjoyed our stay. We loved the design and features of the space, the yard and surroundings, and the great proximity (5 minute walk down a beautiful path) to the beach and nature reserve. We will definitely plan to try to return!

Best Vacation !

We have stayed in many vacation homes, but I can’t think of one that beat this - the house was extremely comfortable and breezy, with incredible airflow throughout; the outdoor shower was fantastic (I never used the indoor one!); the garden is gorgeous, perfect for relaxing after being at the beach; and the beach access is insanely wonderful, with a beautiful natural path bringing you to a lovely private beach (we got to know the neighbors, or at least their dogs, who were there every day, too!). The water was wonderful, and there is a great little store down the beach a few minutes walk which sells really cheap popsicles (37 cents???) and lunch and water shoes and other fun beach items. Water shoes are really a good idea to have, as the beach and shallows can be rocky... We also saw a show at the Theater By the Sea (a five minute walk!!), and then met some of the cast on the beach the next day! All in all - I couldn’t recommend this place more highly (except during the weeks we want to be there in future summers!!)

A quiet retreat

Beautiful, well stocked, open and airy 2 bedroom, with bedrooms at either end of unit (nice for privacy). With large windows throughout, sitting inside feels like your outside. The ocean can be heard in every room. The birds, bunnies and ground hogs were a delight to watch. Lovely landscaped yard. The sun rising over the pond to the east was spectacular. The beach is a short walk (maybe 200 yards?) down a sandy path. The owner, who lives upstairs, is a lovely person, quiet and very attentive to any needs or questions. A quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle. Hope to return again!
