About this property

Charming converted Gozo holiday home

This 350 year old property has been lovingly converted retaining much of its character and I split it into two units, with separate entrances, with the older part being offered for rental and the other part I keep for my occasional visits and a place to keep my souvenirs collected on my travels . Its perfect for a quiet getaway, honeymoon or just a base for trekking. It's all on one floor and is the lower part of the house. The top part belongs to me but you have ample space in the shared garden to eat, bbq, relax on sun lounger or just rock in the hammock. I will give you all the info you need on arrival to make the best of your stay. A car is recommended but we do have a bus from the village square every hour where there is a supermarket and Victoria is 20 minutes walk. We have 2 and a half acres of land with the house so you can grab a directors chair or sunbed and go sit under a tree. It is NOT your normal rental house as we fully equip it as though we were staying there. Netflix and Wi-Fi are there for your comfort as well as books, games Tours can also be arranged. We also have a travel cot for infants and a high chair. The third person sleeps on a fold out bed.
Kitchen is equipped with a large fridge, microwave, eye level oven and Hob. Bathroom consists of a single bath and a hand held shower. Double bedroom. Living room in a lovely mill style arched room with views on the garden and the valley. Different areas to eat and BBQ outside. It's a quiet place away from it all. We provide fans for the summer months but having just installed air conditioning this is available if you need for a small daily charge and it can also be used for heating. Let us know on arrival and all is settled then.

Host profile image
I have traveled the world and I still hope to continue doing so! I am a licensed tourist guide for over 24 years now and I love meeting people. I was born in Malta but i fell in love with Gozo at the age of 15 and finally at the age of 20, I purchased a completely rundown 350 year old farmhouse and it has been my life project ever since, forever evolving and loving interior design, I am always looking for new ideas to adapt to the place.

Why they chose this property

Why this property? Because I walked into it and I thought, I can buy this and make it happen. My parents at the time thought i was a bit nuts getting an abandoned place with no water or electricity, but today I know they are proud of what I managed to achieve.

What makes this property unique

Its unique benefit today is where it is with fields that belong to it. Even people from Gozo call it a paradise and as time goes by, a location like this becomes more rare everyday. You also have free parking and can also put a sunbed under the trees up in the land or stay near the house.
