What a beautiful property! We loved the drive out from Calumet. The house is exactly as advertised. The entry is perfect for accommodating all of our gear with the washer and dryer right there also. Wonderful gathering spots in the kitchen, dining, and living room. The fireplace made the room so cozy. We would certainly come again.
Property exceptionally clean and just as described. Great outdoor space and access to waterfront. I appreciated the ramp and handicapped accessibility. This was our first UP visit, and we would definitely return to this area and stay at this property again. No complaints at all—we loved staying here!
Awesome setting! My family of 11 had a fabulous time staying at this property! The house was comfortable, very inviting and clean. We arrived to find a welcoming gift of treats…so thoughtful! Calumet and the surrounding areas were filled with lots of activity for all to enjoy (treasure hunts, site seeing, beaches, picnics, parks, fishing, shopping, rock picking, hiking, ATV rentals) The cooler weather did not prevent us from swimming in the lake… so refreshing especially after a sauna! We enjoyed this property and hope to return in the future!
Everything was wonderful! Plenty to do and see, including hiking, ice skating, tubing, skiing, etc. Our only complaints were the 2 very poorly regulated thermostats (upstairs and downstairs). This is a very resolvable problem and will likely not be a problem for future guests/stays, but is the rationale for our 4 star review, rather than 5 stars.
My great grandparents are from Calumet. My great grandfather worked at the Quincy mine. I always enjoy when we can stay in the area and visit the old store fronts downtown, learn history etc. We brought the kids on the "lights out" tour of the mine and they had a blast. With the storm that came through one night, my mom took the kids out (okay all kids, lol) and went Yooper light hunting. My son, who is 19, said it was the best vacation yet. Thank you for the prompt reply when a family showed up at 12:45am saying they were supposed to be there instead. We had that resolved in less than 30 minutes! The prompt replies put everyone at ease. All and all, beautiful house, wonderful stay. Would love to stay there again in a few of years when we come back. ( we make the trip every 3 years). Thank you!!!
This home and property is so amazing! We have a large family and we fit very well in this home with plenty of beds and spacious gathering areas inside when the weather or mosquitos don’t cooperate with outdoor plans. We enjoyed a sauna and swimming every evening. The 36° water feels amazing after a hot sauna. The property is within reasonable distance of everything we wanted to see and do. When we arrived, my family decided they didn’t want to leave the property to go do anything else because it’s so beautiful. The hosts were very accommodating with our questions and changes of plans on short notice which was amazing. We will definitely be back and other family members that visited us there all agreed that they would love to rent the home too. We would love to return for a family reunion and rent all of the cottages for our family.
The little neighborhood of rental cottages was quiet while we were there, I can't say how crowded or noisy it would be in the summer. The beach is easy to access. The house is cozy. It was fine for 2 people. The upstairs bathroom is very cramped and the bathtub caulk looked moldy.
I've stayed here twice, this time with my family and we absolutely loved it! They have really thought of it all. Beautiful views and access to the lake and just a short drive into Calumet. I will definitely be back!
We enjoyed the property, the lake, and the courtesy of the homeowner. We took the opportunity of Copper Country Rentals running the side-by-side’s. Spent two days on the trail. We took advantage of local beaches, pubs, breweries and trails. Had a fabulous time!
Our prime concern was having a handicapped accessible property to provide for my wheelchair using wife. All the necessary ramps, wide doorways, and hard floors worked just fine for our needs. The property is located in a wonderful setting overlooking Lake Superior
We had a wonderful stay with our adult children and grandchildren. Lots of room for the little ones to run and enjoyed walks on the beach. Our son took advantage of the sauna and we enjoyed a beach fire one evening.
The farmhouse was perfect for us- 4 bedrooms (all with great mattresses) and plenty of space. There is a good sized porch with lots of chairs/tables all having a view of the lake. There also are adorondeck chairs in the yard with a lake view, and are a great place to watch the sunset. The beach is enormous, and although it is shared by 1 or 2 other rentals, it stretches for at least half a mile so everyone has plenty of room. The rocks on this beach are spectacular, so it's a rock hunters dream. There are kayaks and paddle boards to rent. The kitchen had everything that you could need, even a salad spinner. The road leading to the property has a bubbling brook along it, so walks in the morning were lovely.
I would highly recommend this property- we had a blast.
The location on the lake was amazing and the cottage was as nice as shown in the pictures. We plan on returning!

Beautiful Property
The property, beach and views were great - just what we were hoping for. Kitchen was big and bedrooms were plentiful for 4 separate family units to have private space. The giant outdoor table was a nice surprise, though sturdy chairs were not easy to find. I would recommend making sure you have check-in procedures figured out before you get there, as there is not cell reception for a few miles. Property manager was easy to work with once we got back to an area with reception....and then WiFi was good once we got in the house and knew the password. I would come back.
We had a wonderfully relaxing getaway. The house was inviting and very comfortable. Great decor! The view can't be beat. Plenty of room to have our own space. Reading in the sitting room facing the water was my absolute favorite. So quiet. Excellent proximity to amazing sightseeing.
Absolutely loved our stay. House accommodated 10 of us perfectly. Beautiful views of a frozen Lake Superior. Picturesque sunsets, bald eagles and so many deer.
This place is absolutely beautiful. It looks like an Instagram post or a photo from a magazine or something. We loved just hanging out and taking it in — but it’s also right on the water, and you can have a bonfire on the beach, and it’s a great location to explore the whole peninsula, and the amenities are top-notch (my husband loved the coffee, I loved the snacks). It’s just absolutely beautiful and relaxing. We had an amazing time!
Very nice house with Lake Superior right there. Kitchen well-appointed. Enjoyed the log stove on a cold day. Sauna looked fun but we didn’t use it. Nice roads to walk on and a short drive to Calumet.
We absolutely loved this property with Lake Superior frontage from our rental, enjoying views and much time rock searching on the beach. We spent significant time in the mornings drinking tea/coffee in the front living area with big glass windows facing Lake Superior. Everything about this house was exceptional.
