This is our 3rd Vrbo stay. Once a year, we go for 2 weeks. This was the quietest and best equipped property we've experienced. Nice place. Excellent location. We'd go back!
My husband and I stayed at Chic’s Nest house while on a travel nurse assignment for about a 3 month period. The house was close to the beach, and all amenities were as described!
Patrice was easy to reach out to, but we did come across some difficulties while staying there with increased moisture/dampness in the house/ appeared something was wrong with the HVAC. When we reached out with our concerns, it took some continued push before interventions were made. Ultimately, she was responsive to us and had technicians inspect everything. We were very thankful for all the interventions made, but we definitely received pushback before we felt heard.
The Chic's Nest is a comfortable place to stay. It provided everything that we needed (clean, AC worked, firm mattresses, working TV, internet, utensils, etc. Although there are several (beat-up) beach chairs), you have to provide your own beach towels, coolers, etc. Please note that although there are two bedrooms; all the guests have to share one full bathroom. It could get a little crowded for four people. The owner and agent are very professional and pleasant and will get right back to you if you need any assistance. The great news is that the Chic's Nest is only about a 3-minute walk to the beach...you just can't beat the location. You also have two restaurants that you can walk to in 3-5 minutes. The heart of town is only about a 5 minute car ride. I would give the Chic's Nest an 8 out of 10 rating!
Just returned home from our second winter at Chic’s Nest. We were so comfortable there, it was like coming back home again. The house is decorated in a way that makes it feel warm and cozy. It is clean and well cared for. The kitchen is equipped with everything you’d need. The shower in the upstairs bathroom is amazing!! New outdoor lighting was installed this year, which illuminates the driveway and walkway. Very nice. We really love the Chic’s Beach area. The house is perfectly located with just a short walk to the beach. We are looking forward to spending a third winter in Chic’s Nest in 2025!!!
My wife, 16 year old son and myself stayed for five days over Christmas. The unit was quite clean and is well equipped with all the comforts of home. It made for a very pleasant getaway. Thank you!
We are local and stayed at Chic's Nest for over a week while undergoing a home renovation project. We very much enjoyed our stay at Chic's Nest in Chic's Beach. The house was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. We loved the neighborhood and location with the beach one block away and restaurants within walking distance. We highly recommended this property and area of Virginia Beach for a get away or vacation.

Virginia beach
The location of this unit is amazing. Everyday we were 2 blocks from pristine Chesapeake Bay beach ( Chic’s Beach)
There were some service issues ( plumbing) that we were able to communicate with the owner and get working within 24 hours.
There was a Weber Kettle as part of the unit. It was filled with charcoal and grease from another tenant, despite the $25 charge assessed for a grill left dirty.
The owner was unable to come up with a solution to this problem and we were left with cleaning the grille before and after use.
The unit did not meet VRBO standards for cleanliness evidenced by mold stains in the kitchen and 1/2 bath vents. The owner was unable to take care of this problem during our stay.
The unit is very convenient to shopping, eating, and fun that only a beach community can provide.
The property was delightful and very walkable to the beach and local restaurants. The perfect escape for my sister and I who wanted to spend some quality time together.
About as close to the beach as you can get without renting a pricey beachfront place. Everything you need and no fuss. Close to all the places the locals love, as well as, all the great places to eat on Shore Drive.
My husband and I just returned home from a wonderful three month stay at charming Chic’s Nest. From the minute we stepped through the doorway, we felt right at home. The house was spotless and exactly as shown in the photos. The owner’s style of decorating gave our “home away from home” (as we liked to call it) a very warm and cozy feeling. The kitchen was well stocked. We had everything we needed, and then some. Both bathrooms were nicely updated. I have to say, the shower was amazing!!! The two bedrooms upstairs were quite spacious, with good size closets as well. The queen size beds were very comfortable. We had more than enough pillows, sheets, blankets and towels. Oh, and the location was perfect. We loved being able to walk to the beach, which was only a few minutes from the house. There are two restaurants within walking distance, as well. We felt very comfortable walking throughout the neighborhood. We highly recommend Chic’s Nest. If you should decide to stay there, I’m sure you will not be disappointed. We are hoping we will be able to return to Chic’s Nest.
We enjoyed our stay. The condo was cozy, clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a meal. The bathrooms had plenty of towels and wash clothes. This host truly paid attention to the detail. Would love to stay here next time we visit.
AC did not work during hot days. Heat not working during cold. Owner would not respond to problem and found out hvac had been out for more than 30 days. Uncomfortable living conditions.
We enjoyed our stay at Chic’s Nest. Very quiet setting with a short walk to the beach. Loved the way the house was decorated. We had everything we needed and the property manager Julie was very nice. Would definitely stay here again.
Chic’s Nest is exactly as advertised. My husband and I stayed (without a car) to visit our boys. They live within walking distance, so we were thrilled to be able to walk to so many of our favorite places - Commonwealth, HK on the Bay, Buoy 44, Leaping Lizard, and Taste. I have to admit that we barely spent any time at the condo, but it was exactly what we were looking for at the end of the day. We would definitely stay there again!!!
Chic's Nest - Cute Cottage Close to Beach-Nestled in Trees
Overall, this home is cute, very clean, with nice furniture - it does have the feeling of a beach house, but still being nestled in the lovely trees. Two lovely decks downstairs, and one upstairs off one bedroom as well. Very nice neighborhood and homes, and just a minute or two walk to the beach. Very convenient that the home comes with a 2 car in-tandem parking off the street. Two bedrooms upstairs (not three) but air mattress for extra bedding was more than sufficient. Great shower. We did not have great weather during our visit (after-effects of hurricane) - but the house was cozy and a great place to spend time with family.
Patrice the owner was very responsive and worked well with us before the trip regarding travel changes and other questions. She even communicated an issue at the house that happened just before we arrived (A/C), but was very accommodating with fans, etc which worked very well for us that week.
It was really nice to find some supplies already provided so that we did not have to go shopping on the long (blustery!) travel day (t.p, paper towel, soap, etc - even coffee!). What was very disappointing was that there were no knives in the house (butter or steak knives, chopping, etc) which we discovered when trying to prepare first meal! We let the property manager know about it right away, via text and phone, but unfortunately, we never got a response during our stay. We were lucky that we had family in the area to borrow from after a couple of days. I'm sure this is an odd, one-off instance, so do not let this deter you from staying at this very lovely home. It is lovely, charming, in a great quiet neighborhood so close to the beach - you will not regret it!
Chic’s Nest was comfortable and quiet and we immediately felt like it was “home away from home.” Location was excellent and the property had everything we needed to cook most meals at home. We chose a hot week and even though we had some difficulty with the A/C, the unit stayed reasonably cool thanks to the shade from the trees. Ceiling fans in the bedrooms would make it even more comfortable.

Nice and Quiet
Good for small families, close to the beach and restaurants within walking distance. The living area is small. Kitchen is easy to cook in and front deck is shaded for outdoor comfort.
Chics Nest is a newly renovated home in a quiet neighborhood only a couple of minutes from the beach. The house was very clean and well decorated. The furniture and beds were very comfortable. The shower was spacious and had great pressure. The kitchen had all that was needed for cooking and serving. It was really nice to have some coffee, TP, and paper towels there to tide us over until we went to the grocery store. There is a table and four chairs on the front deck where we ate and hung out most of the time. There is also a dining table and four chairs inside. It is a very short and easy walk to the beach at a public access where there is also a bar and restaurant. For most of the time the neighborhood was very quiet except for one day when a house nearby played rap music pretty loudly. Chic's Nest is best for four people. There are two bedrooms upstairs close together. The listing says three bedrooms. We did use the air mattress for my grandson but there wasn't a lot of space for it in either bedroom. It is a great place for two couples or one couple and a child or two. It is in a great part of Virginia Beach and the people we encountered were very pleasant and friendly.
Family of four - stayed for 4 weeks in connection with our move. The house had everything we needed. Location is perfect for beach, restaurants, walking.
We had a few small issues but Julie, the property manager, replied promptly.
The house was in a wonderful neighborhood, very close to the beach and several restaurants with a small corner store. Everything else you need is only a short ride in any direction. The house was comfortable and clean. Definitely would want to stay here again if we come back to the area.
Stayed here with friends and my fur baby during Memorial Day weekend. Great place, off a main road, tucked in quiet place but a block away from the beach...which is gorgeous and not very crowded. The house is also near restaurants and other things to do. The house is very spacious and comfortable, we didn't do anything crazy but just relax, cook, eat and drink. Julie and Patrice were very responsive when we had questions. The only con was the mosquitoes but we managed! It was such a great time, I definitely recommend this property.

About the host
Hosted by Patrice Beck
Planting myself in Chic's Beach was by accident but I believe I landed on a little slice of heaven. I grew up in Indianapolis and Omaha; far far away from beaches. I enjoy the beach in the early mornings and evenings where I take my Golden Retriever for walks. Because this is a neighborhood where people live and own their properties, we find ourselves on the beach or out and about kvetching with neighbors.
Why they chose this property
This property is unique for many reasons. It is located in Chic's Beach which is Virginia Beach's best kept secret. It is a small and eclectic community made up of mostly homeowners. It is away from the tourist scene at the ocean front, although the ocean front is just 15 minutes away if you are interested in exploring. You will find homeowners and visitors alike out talking and visiting with one another, riding bikes, skateboarding, or just walking. It is a throw back to a bygone era. The best part is the rental unit that it is tucked up under the large live oaks, yet it is within yards from the beach. Very unusual indeed. It is a private mountain cabin at the beach.
What makes this property unique
Lovely community and beach, beach, beach. Need I say more?
