For our family thanksgiving, we enjoyed staying at this magical house. It’s the perfect quick city getaway to be completely removed from the stresses of normal life.
What we loved about the home: aside from the aura of peace and tranquility in the remote location, we enjoyed the many open spaces in the house for gathering or personal activities. The live plants, musical instruments and eclectic artwork add character that is hard to describe, other than extremely special and calming. For a historic house, it was surprisingly warm on a freezing winter weekend and the main fireplace was a joy to have with real wood that the owners thoughtfully provided.
Our group had several young children so we designated play areas that were safe for them (away from musical instruments for example). There is a large collection of toys, books and art supplies that they loved playing with.
The house is enormous and each bedroom is unique and cozy. Perfect for big groups or large families to each have a private room. The bathrooms are a bit unconventional (clearly modernized additions to the home).
The grounds are spacious and great for outdoor explorers. Take caution around the old barn (where old structures once stood) as little kids may want to explore.
The kitchen is spacious and perfect for a large family Thanksgiving gathering. Our only feedback is that it could have had some more kitchen supplies for large groups (e.g., microwave and more wine glasses).
We loved our stay at this property and would love to return. Adeeb is a communicative and kind host, deserving of the “super host” badge. Thanks for a lovely stay!
