Absolutely gorgeous!

I wish I had booked more days so we had time to take advantage of all the amenities. The owners thought of everything! The kitchen was equipped to actually cook for a family, and there were nice little details they thought of as well, such as small laterns around the house in case the power went out. Would definitely book again.

Fantastic Spring Break Vacation

We had an amazing time on our spring break vacation. We are only a family of 3, but we have a 16 year old teen who enjoyed having her own space in the lower level gameroom. My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub and firepit to relax. It was a short ride to downtown Ellijay, and we also took a few trips to Blue Ridge to the downtown area and Mercier's. Amicalola Falls is not too far and also an amazing experience. We had some friends who visited the area recently, and recommended visiting Helen, and though it was a little bit of a drive, it was so much fun. Lots of shopping and the mountain coaster was so cool. There was a lot of space in the cabin for a much larger family, and so much in the community for families to enjoy. Highly recommend Lightning Bug Lodge.

Great for families

This cabin was great for our family. Great size for four adults and two kids. The game room kept us occupied for hours! It was great for our elementary aged kids. Overall, the home is very nice. It had a comfortable feel. Great amenities. I love the location. It’s very close to downtown and Walmart/Ingles.

Great weekend getaway!

Lightning Bug Lodge is truly a little gem! Pictures are exact and represent cabin perfectly. The unit was clean and stocked with everything needed including extras like laundry detergent, towels by the hot tub, and toiletries. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and had 6 kids in tow- ages 13 & 16. There was so much to do - all kids were occupied and enjoyed themselves. We visited the Rec Center twice for swimming, working out, basketball & the arcade. David was super accommodating and easy to work with. I highly recommend and would definitely visit again!

Fantastic Cabin!

We had such a great week at this cabin! Beautiful porches, the fire pit, game room, and a kitchen with everything you need. And we loved watching all the deer. Great location for visiting all the near-by towns.

Excellent stay!

The cabin was clean, cozy, and well-stocked. Lots of little details like throw blankets and coffee. The large variety of games was a big hit with my son and the grandparents loved the screened porch with swing.

Great cabin!

Our family of 5 stayed here for a weekend getaway. Both kids and adults really enjoyed the game room. We spent a lot of time around the fire pit making s’mores and hot dogs, and the hot tub was great, too. The cabin was super clean and had everything we needed from laundry detergent to kitchen utensils to corn for feeding the deer right outside the front door! We didn’t even end up using the neighborhood amenities because the kids were having so much fun just hanging out at the cabin. We did some hiking in the area and our host, David, suggested Fort Mountain State park. We are so glad we took his recommendation because the views were spectacular and there were even trails my whiny kids could handle!

Cozy Cabin

This was an absolutely beautiful cabin. The master bedroom had a very comfortable bed! We slept like we were home! The owner was quick to respond and fix the trouble we had with a fireplace. There are a ton of deer in the morning and evening. The cabin had corn for the deer. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and feeding the deer. We love this place and cant wait to go back!!

Wonderful weekend getaway

My family had a wonderful time at the cabin. Everything about it was just what we were looking for! From the hot tub, to the gas log fireplaces, to the ping-pong, air-hockey, board games, puzzles, and movies all our comfort and entertainment desires were exceeded! The kitchen was well supplied to prepare all our meals, the bedroom and bathrooms were comfortable, up-to date, and tastefully decorated, and everything was set up for comfort. We didn’t have to fight over the best seating when we watched a family movie because there were multiple reclining couches! To top it off, we had snow and got to feed about 7 deer that came by for a visit! We will definitely recommend this place to others and stay here again!

Best Trip Ever!

I dont even know where to start.. the cabin was BEAUTIFUL! I almost hate to write such a great review.... I feel like this is my "personal secret getaway" and I wanna keep it to myself 😄. Our family had everything we needed to cook a full course Thanksgiving meal!.. All the personal touches throughout the cabin just made it feel like home. The decor was perfect... and the attention to details just made it the perfect stay... The deer corn on the porch.. the deer in the morning at our front door...the fireplace. The fireplaces..the huge master bathroom...I could go on for days! CAN'T WAIT FOR OUR NEXT TRIP! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us! . And i loved the little soaps with the cabin name on the box .

Amazing Cabin . Peaceful and quiet

This cabin is absolutely beautiful. It is a e floor cabin and has a bed and bath on each floor.. the third floor has a pingpong and fuze ball table. A hot tub on the bottom patio. The cabin is extremely clean and organized. Kitchen is very stocked with supplies. Bring some deer feed or by at the local Walmart and feed the deer. they come up to the cabin.. The owner was extremely nice and was extremely helpful when I had to adjust my schedule! The area has enclosed pools and a playground, but it was winter so we didnt visit them.

Great weekend trip.

Very clean and spacious cabin for a family adult weekend trip. Nice quiet area where you can unwind outdoors by fire pit or inside by a fireplace. Check in was easy and location convenient to Ellijay. Did not get to use some amenities due to quick trip but would definitely recommend this cabin.

Great Stay

Very nice cabin the woods. Backyard was secluded and quiet. Property was clean and owners were very informative and detailed on check in and check out. Will have to make this our regular beginning of summer vacation getaway!

Dirty cabin and awful customer service

1. Dry pee - toilet 2. Dust and cobwebs 3. Items from previous guest (clothes, baby toys and open baby food) 4. Washer machine out of service 5. Dirty microwave We reported the issues to Keith and he responded with - “My wife inspected that cabin yesterday and everything was perfect, that’s impossible because my neighbor cleaned the cabin and she always do a good job”. We contacted the owner Jenna and she texted: “ I’m sorry that you have had to deal with, thank you for bringing it to my attention”. The cabin is beautiful but we ended up cleaning.

Awesome getaway!

We had an amazing time at the cabin- everything is there that you could need. Loved the deer that showed up in the mornings and the surprise snowfall on Xmas eve! Had great interactions with Keith and his wife who promptly helped us with what we needed and all while maintaining covid guideines. This cabin getaway for Xmas was a dream - even arrived to a Christmas tree and decor already in place! Would recommend to anyone

A great extended weekend in Ellijay

We had a great time staying at the Lightening bug lodge ! The cabin was great, well stocked kitchen, VERY CLEAN, beds were comfortable, we had no problems. Keith was great to work with and giving me information about all the things around there to do, My 3 year old grandson loved to fish at the river, swim in the indoor heated pool, play video games and putt putt all over at the recreation center. Enjoyed a fire every night in the nice fire pit and he also loved the hot tub and watching the deer come up and eat by the cabin every morning and evening.

Deer lover’s dream

Our stay in Lightening Bug Lodge did not disappoint. The cabin was spotless and stocked with everything needed for our yearly fall get away. There was a slight problem with the master bedroom fireplace when we arrived but was taken care of promptly. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the deer that would come to the cabin every morning and evening. Playing ping pong in the evenings provided so much laughter, which was greatly needed! We loved sitting around the fire pit at night, singing and roasting marshmallows. It was so relaxing! The beds were so comfy, something you don’t always find in rentals. Lightening Bug Lodge was just the perfect getaway....would highly recommend!

Perfect

We had 3 couples in our early 30's just want a weekend away from the kids and this was absolutely perfect. The cabin was extremely clean and very organized. We will definitely be going back again.

Great Birthday Getaway

This cabin was perfect for a child free weekend for 3 couples looking for relaxation! The owner left us great winery suggestions and we had a great time visiting them! Highly suggest!
