About the host
Hosted by Fernanda Castillo

Dear Travelers,
Fernanda and I met in New York while attending graduate school at The New School. I was working on a novel for my thesis to get my MFA in Creative Writing; Fernanda was studying to get her degree in Fashion and Design at Parsons. The last several months we have been working on a non-profit project the two of us founded called The Herder's Wife. It's focus is on empowering Peruvian women of the Andes by helping them sell their handmade textiles at a higher price that they deserve for their hard work. Fernanda is from Cusco, and I recently joined her here. We both love this city, but we are often traveling to other places throughout South America, learning about new cultures and enjoying life.
We travel constantly between New York and Cusco, and when we're not living in Peru we love opening up our apartment to interesting guests from around the world! As a couple, Fernanda and I believe travel is the most important part of life. Learning about other people and how they live only brings us together in the end. And to help people from around the world see how great people in Peru are, really makes us happy. We are sure you will love your stay at our home!
Fernanda's native language is Spanish, since she's from Peru, while mine is English, me being from Texas. The combination of Fernanda's expertise on everything Cusco, to my ability to assist you in all things American, such as all the little domestic somethings we came to expect when staying somewhere - we have what it takes to give any guest an extremely comfortable but also informative and helpful time.
I also speak French and German, in case there might be a few travelers who haven't quite gotten their English down yet. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Michael and Fernanda

Why they chose this property
Located next to bus stations, you could be extremely frugal and get anywhere in the city for a sol or two. Or, if in a rush, take a taxi to the center square for only 3.5-4 soles, depending on whether you can say a word or two in Spanish, the journey only 7 minutes, making this location quiet and authentically Peruvian, while conveniently near all the main sites.
What makes this property unique
Kingsize bed in master bedroom - stunning windows throughout the apartment. All furniture and appliances are brand new. This apartment offers the best combination of comfort for good rest, as well as huge living areas for large groups to socialize and enjoy nice dinners.
