About this property

Poplar Hollow Barn

Enjoy being in a West of city suburb but on an 18 acre farm complete with horses in a clean three bedroom barn apartment. 25-30 min to downtown Nashville. It is truly country in the city. Check in is between 3-8pm only. Please do not make a reservation if you cannot check in BEFORE 8pm.
This apartment was built as an add on to a large old barn in 1983 and has original concrete floors, antiques and unique rustic decor. Liza the miniature horse is100 ft away and 3 other horses are also on the property. There is a creek and pond, you will need to drive through a low creek to access apartment, but most cars have no trouble with this at all. WiFi and basic cable channels included. Non-smoking. Coffee maker, coffee, and tea are included and present in the home. Complete kitchenware and all linens are present. Charcoal grill, hair dryer, small iron/ironing board are included. Central heat and air. Stove and microwave. Fire pit and firewood available. Paper goods present to get you started, but you may need to supplement (paper towels, toilet paper, etc). 5 min to interstate I-40, then 15-20 min to downtown Nashville. Variety of local restaurants, cafes, shopping in vicinity. 2 miles to famous Loveless Restaurant and 3 miles to Natchez Trace. Bicyclists are welcome! It is a safe neighborhood. Nashville Short Term Rental Permit #500803.

This little farm, in our family since 1972, is surrounded by nice subdivisions, but feels very country. Our desire is to keep the property as original as possible. Bellevue is a suburb on the west side of Nashville.
Bring your car, but Uber and Lyft are available for nights on the town. We live on this property as well, so are usually available if you need anything. You can walk the 18 acres as long as you don't mind sharing the space with the horses. Property is very pretty, especially in spring/summer/fall, sit on the aggregate patio and watch the horses graze...
Home in is large barn on property. Finding the driveway at night can be tricky, please call or text us before arrival so we help you find the place or visit the night map in the photos.
You are welcome to pet the horses, but please let us know in advance for a quick safety instruction. No smoking please, the apartment is in a big barn!

We will be there if you need us, but respect your privacy. We will only enter the apartment if invited, by our request and your approval, or in case of emergency.
We are within 2 miles to Loveless Café, 3 miles to Natchez Trace Parkway. We have a wonderful greenway about a mile away, for walking and biking.

Directions to the farm: From I-40, exit 192 to McCrory Lane, go left (from Nashville) and right (from Memphis). Go about 2-3 miles to stop sign. Turn left, go about 1 mile down hill. Poplar Hollow Farm (8151 Poplar Creek Road) is on the right at bottom of hill, look for a weathered rustic sign that says Poplar Hollow Farm. Pull in the flat driveway, look for the big grey barn and pond on left. Go over low creek on left to big barn.

Home away from home
We had a wonderful stay at Pam and Will's property! They went above and beyond by teaching us about their horses and even letting us feed them. We loved the freedom to explore the property and enjoyed brushing the mini horse whenever we wanted. The accommodations were cozy, comfortable, and exactly as described. Pam and Will were incredibly kind and accommodating, making our stay much better than being cooped up in a hotel room for 3 days for a baseball tournament. We would definitely stay here again!

Fabulous find!
My teenaged son and I came to Nashville to spend a few days and experience the city. Pam’s place was the perfect spot to stay. We loved having the animals right there with us and Pam was a gracious host. We had enough room to spread out and the beds were very comfortable. I loved the sheets and towels! If you find yourself in Nashville and are looking for a quiet place to stay outside of the city lights, but not far enough away that you spend all of your time driving, then this is an amazing home. I will definitely return!!

Relaxing
We enjoyed the weekend at Pam and wil’s place. The horses were very sweet and the barn was cozey. What I like is you feel like your out of town enough but then in reality your really close to some good restaurants and some grocery stores Incase you need to run out and get something. Definetally reccomend this to everyone!

Very clean and original. I grew up on a farm and this stay really brought back memories.
The property was as advertised. Pam and her husband even took my daughter and 3 of my grandsons on a hayride around the pasture. There was a small problem with over booking but Pam went above and beyond to make sure that everything went smoothly and we were accommodated. Will stay with her again.

Owners include Pam, a retired nurse, loves most all animals, loves to read, cook, meet our guests and love wine! Married to Will, a retired accountant and fulltime horse farmer. We were both born and raised here in Nashville, went to local colleges and have stayed in our community. We are spiritual/Methodist but respect all/none religions. We love guests coming to our farm and we love hearing about you and your life ! We are available by phone 24/7 at 615-218-7929.

Why they chose this property

We inherited this property from my husbands mother who bought it in 1972. She ran a day camp here for kids for many years. It was a family farm in the early days with raising and showing of Tennessee Walking Horses. Later the next generation rode, showed and cared for quarter horses and walking horses. Many animals have made their way to the farm due to my mother in laws kind nature and desire to teach children about farm life. We currently have a rescued miniature horses on the property named Liza, rescued mare mule named Ellie and two walking horses, Miss Ann and Jessie Belle.

What makes this property unique

Sleeping in a converted barn in Nashville. Country comfort and Music City close by. Spend your day in the city and sight-seeing, then drive 15-20 minutes to your peaceful retreat. The barn home is very cool, we lived in it ourselves for 3 years while building our new home on the hill. We keep the property clean, but we stop at major renovating just to ensure that we keep the old time feel of the property. This is not an updated Hampton Inn style lodging. More like your Grandma's house. Also, the picnic table is a favorite spot to sit and drink your coffee/tea and watch the small pond for wildlife. Walk the 18 acres with the horses ! (after a safety instruction please)
