Sandpiper is a low density three story complex. Its unique V shape building and shared common area walkway in front of each condo lends to a friendly get to know your neighbor atmosphere. Family reunions, large groups of people traveling together and individual families choose this property often. The tropical courtyard, seasonally-heated swimming pool (mid-March through October, as needed) and grilling areas give Sandpiper an ambiance all its own. It is a highly requested property and has the most repeat guests.

Perfect Condo for a Golf Trip

The rooms are open to the outside and in close proximity. The pool is large enough to accommodate everyone and the beach is a few easy steps away.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We did enjoy are stay, we love the Sandpiper and its location. Our condo is a little dated but furniture was clean and comfortable. We had several light bulbs burn out when we were there but Bender staff was prompt to replace them. The can spot lights above the table need to be replaced. We purchased the linen service but the kitchen dish towels and dish cloth were actually bathroom towels. The bath towels were also pretty worn with exception of one. We have already booked for next year and look forward to our stay in Gulf Shores.

Our Unit was really nice, cozy, and had all of what we needed!The other guests became our "neighbors" and we had fun times. The rental, maintenance and cleaning crew were always helpful and kind. I really experience "southern hospitality" here and in Gulf Shores. We have booked for next year! (Only suggestion-get rid of Dish TV-poor quality)

Sandpiper approved, but never again in 11b

The condo had cool a/c and plenty of warm water, but we just not comfortable. We lived out of our bags and didn't even unpack. Absolutely the hardest bed we have slept on or attempted to sleep on. We actually considered sleeping on the couch because it was more comfortable. The previous renters put the dishes back in the cabinet dirty. We had to wash dishes before and after we used them. However, the condo itself was clean.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we had a good week at Sandpiper. The unit had plenty of space and the kitchen was well equipped. We had just a few things that weren't quite right. The bathrooms weren't perfectly clean. There was mold/mildew in the track of the shower doors of both bathrooms. The tubs didn't look clean...looked like they weren't scrubbed in spots. Also, the tile in the bathrooms looked dirty around the edges of the baseboard making us wonder how well it was mopped. The coffee maker was the filthiest I have ever seen. I spent over 30 minutes cleaning it the first morning before making coffee. Our only other complaint is how much smoking there was by other guests. We realize it was outside on the decks and people need to smoke outside but there was so much that it was difficult to enjoy sitting outside the unit. There was even a time when our units outside chairs were covered with ashes that had spilled down from the unit above us and had to be cleaned.

Reviewer Comments: The unit we were in needed to be updated furniture was old and floor and doors were in bad shape. both toilets would run and run before finally shutting off it did not help there was a large group from Louisville that stayed up late every night boozing so we could never set out and enjoy the night I think there were about 50 of them and they just took the whole complex over every night Very unhappy with the whole set up of letting 50 people basically run it every night with loud and vulgar partying

The Master bathroom toilet has flushing issues runs for a long time after flushing. mold stains in toilet. Mold in shower door track. Ceiling painting peeling and water stains. Other bathroom bolt missing from toilet so was rocky when used. Mold in shower door track. The whole condo could use a fresh coat of paint. The garbage can had dried food in the bottom of it. Master bed was hard. Kitchen was well stocked. Great location and pool area!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I love the Sand Piper and have rented there for many years. I have rented 11 B for about 3 years. 11 B continues to be a total disappointment. It needs a complete renovation which I have stated each year that I have rented. The kitchen tiles are broken, toilets need to be replaced, kitchen appliances need replacement, the sliding glass on the bathroom tub does not slide, the tub in the guest bathroom cannot be used for bathing( tub plug does not work) kitchen is poorly furnished, can opener doesn't work, coffee pot is ancient, beds could use new mattresses, walls and baseboards need to be painted. Luckily, I was able to rent another condo (which has been renovated) for my two week stay next year. I now can look forward to my return for two weeks.I also appreciated Mr. Bender's letter concerning the unacceptable behavior of the large group of people who rented during the week of July 9th - July 14th and the consequences which could be imposed if they return next year and behave in the same manner. I appreciate that Mr. Bender ensures that I will not be subjected to the kind of behavior that these people exhibited this year.
