Away from it all- plus a fishing boat
Thank you to Greg for loaning out this beautiful home! And fishing boat- which is a hard thing to find in a vk rental! This is a place to relax on the water with adventures close at hand. Kayaking and fishing in the boat were favorites of our family. There's a 20-min kayak ride that takes you over to a super fun jumping rock in the next lake. As the cook in the family, I loved the beautiful kitchen, and I appreciated the craftsmanship of the whole place. The deck is also beautiful - perfect for sitting out for morning coffee and prayer time or afternoon reading. Be sure to put up the hammock while you're there too. We visited during a heat wave in the high 80s, and were glad we brought fans for each person; as with any camp in Maine, the sleeping loft upstairs was hot and we needed the air circulating. There are some house fans as well. You should check out breakfast at Spencer's, lunch at the Monson General store, and a ride on the steamship Katahdin on Moosehead lake. Hope you will find as much rest and joy as we did here!

Beautiful View
My family had a great time at Greg & Cindy's. The cottage sits directly on the pond and the view was incredible. We enjoyed fishing off the dock, kayaking & using the small motor boat for evening fishing and watching the sunset. Waking up to the sunrise over the pond, drinking morning coffee on the dock, it was all magical.

Great bass lake and local hiking!
What a gem for fishing! Caught about 25 bass over several days/ outings plus some good sized perch. Hiked two local peaks (Kineo on Moosehead Lake one day and Borestone Mt. another) with great views of surrounding lakes, valleys and mountains. Went to a local brewery right around the corner on the back road to Monson - we discovered it by accident. Another farm to table pizzeria and produce stand in Dover was recommended to us by the owners the day we arrived and was a great way to start the week (we didn't feel like cooking after our long drive). Beautiful accommodations and view overlooking the lake (15-20' from water's edge). Comfortable bed in master BR with nice lake breezes at night. Loft was great for our kids - they loved the novelty of the ladder! Great memories of Maine made here. Thank you hosts!

Wonderful Cottage at Davis Pond,Maine
We spent a wonderful week in the very nice cottage directly on the lake. The house has its own lake access incl. equipment for kayak trips and boat. Greg and Cindy are very friendly and helpful and always available. The lake is very quiet, ideal for kayak trips where we explored both ponds and saw loons and an eagle with young. The area has much else to offer as well. The Moosehead Area is not far away. We enjoyed our time at Davis Pond very much and can recommend this cottage.

Perfect place to relax and enjoy nature
We had a great time at the lakeside cottage. Greg and Cindy were super helpful and responsive. They gave us a bunch of suggestions of things to do in the area. We spent most of the week swimming and boating in the lake. We saw a loon pair with their baby and a pair of bald eagles right across the lake. If you have time to kill before check in, check out Turning page farm & brewery down the road where you can hang out with the goats and drink beer. I already miss being there.

Beautiful week by the water
My family and I had a wonderful week at this beautiful cabin! We had been looking forward to the trip all summer, and it did not disappoint. The cabin is cozy, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated—it really felt like a home away from home, and is even prettier than it looks in the photos. We enjoyed kayaking on the pond, which feels more like a lake, and loved watching a family of eagles and the loons. Greg and Cindy were a pleasure to work with—responsive, friendly and helpful. They made everything easy, and had good suggestions about the area. We would definitely rent here again!

A very relaxing peaceful stay
This rental is the perfect place to stay for a vacation. It is a beautiful log cabin that is well furnished, modern, clean and comfortable. I enjoyed waking up each morning and seeing Davis pond from the bedroom window. In the evenings we would sit on the couch or outside on the deck and watch the pond until it became dark. It is a peaceful, quiet area to relax. A great location with Moosehead Lake just 30 minutes away. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Perfect Getaway
I booked this vacation for my son's 13th birthday with hopes of spending the majority of our time fishing, kayaking, and hiking - and that is exactly what we got! Excellent hiking and fishing within driving distance and beyond as well as on the First and Second Pond. We caught bass and perch every day from the kayaks. Great communication with Greg and Cindy. Cabin/Camp was exactly as described. Would highly recommend!

Great family getaway
This was a last minute idea that turned out to be a hidden gem. From the start the owners told us the location was remote with no internet or ac. Having four teens/preteens this might have been a deal breaker. When we arrived at the site we couldn’t have been happier! The location is definitely remote but the perfect place to do some family bonding. The lake house sits literally just a few steps from the water. It’s spacious, clean and has all the amenities of home! From a motorized boat and kayaks to board games and family movies...you will be set for a perfect vacation. There is also a beautiful full sized kitchen and a grill for family meals. If your not up to cooking there are a few nearby restaurants that offer great pizza and wings. Lastly the owners were very easily accessible and answered every question within minutes of us reaching out to them. Definitely would come here again!

Greg and Cindy were very nice hosts, supportive and concerned that we enjoyed our stay.
Their home was exactly as seen in photos. We had a relaxing, enjoyable stay. The neighbors were family and very friendly. We would definitely consider coming back. If I would make any suggestions at all, it would be to be able to dine at a table outdoors and a guard rail for loft upstairs. However, we managed just fine without.

About the host

Cindy and I have spent our vacations at Davis Pond for our entire adult lives. We raised our children here. Over the years we have infused every corner of the house and property with features and adornments that give us joy. As you walk in the door and out onto the deck we hope you will feel embraced in the spirit of this special place. Many have told us that they instantly relax upon arriving and we hope you will too!

Why they chose this property

They can't build camps this close to Lake anymore!
We tore old camp down and put up new structure in the old footprint. The camp sits right at the water's edge. The view across the lake from Living room is awesome! My family has owned the camp next door since 1965. I grew up on Davis Pond in the summers and then my children grew up there as well. Now, after ownership of over 20 years with a total of over 54 years on Davis Pond, Cindy & I would like to share this special place with your family. Greg B.

What makes this property unique

This is a place to come and relax ! A quite pond with very little boat traffic, great for paddle boards, Kayaks and small boats. If you're into fast boats, water skiing, jet skis, Davis Pond is not for you.
Loons call almost every night over the Lake , sometimes just outside your window. Eagles soar past and otters can be spotted in lake and stream next door.
