We would stay in the Rundle Cliffs units again, but this Owner has been our ONLY bad VRBO experience. Do yourself a favor and move on to another Owner. We wrote this long review to save others from our bad experience with this angry, toxic person.
Our family has been using VRBO for a while, probably 7-8 rentals total. Always for long periods near ski areas, in upscale units.
The unit was in good condition. It even had a heated floor, which was a bonus the Owner had not mentioned. Overall, the Rundle Cliffs complex (where this unit is located) seemed new and was within walking distance to surprisingly quaint old downtown Canmore. There was building construction nearby, but noise was not an issue for us. And though the unit's windows are adjacent to a street and sidewalk, vehicular and pedestrian traffic were minimal.
If you are considering renting from this Owner, be warned that you may be falsely accused with no basis and no evidence of having broken something, so that the Owner can keep the entire, very high, cleaning deposit. For us, the false claim came a day and a half after we had checked out.
After explaining you broke nothing, you can expect a litany of angry and accusatory texts (all in broken English). Either due to her temperament or her language difficulties, the tone will be irrational, escalatory, and personally venomous. In our case, she changed from "you broke a desk" to claims that we had left the place a mess, had more occupants than claimed, our children were adults, etc.
Be warned. You do not want this toxicity to taint your vacation memories.

You even discounted the rates that was already reduced and You broke my desk .

We will work with the credit card company and VRBO to get our money back. She may "reply" to this. If you read it, imagine you are in our shoes and did nothing wrong and are on the receiving end of whatever allegations she makes. Again, move on. Not worth it.
