Great place on more than adequate corner lot surrounded by fencing with outdoor fire pit and indoor fire place. Copious appliances and all you could want amenities. Pleasant indoors and outdoors surroundings. Privacy for main bedroom. Two full bathrooms. Responsible host by text or phone.
We truly appreciated and enjoyed our stay at Patricia’s beautifully remodeled home. Loved the intentional big and small details that went into crafting such a sweet, cozy home. Next time we are in Portland area: yes please!
This home was very clean, warm, and welcoming. The attention to detail was unparalleled. We especially loved the gas fireplace during cool evenings. The kitchen was well equipped, even though we were out visiting family for most of our meals. We really loved our stay and would absolutely love to stay here again!!
We had a wonderful stay. The house is beautifully thought out and well appointed for guests needs. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful with friendly neighbors. We’ll definitely be back.
This Hilltop house is a great location for us because we have our daughter to visit in Oregon City and friends we enjoy who live in West Linn and Southeast Portland. The house is central to all these areas. It is charming and we enjoyed having a few visitors sit on our patio with us in the evening. The interior setting is very appealing (nice sofa, chairs, decor, plants, cabinetry and counters in the kitchen). Great bathrooms.
We enjoyed the house a great deal
Fireplace was lovely
Outdoor fire pit was enjoyed by all
The kids made s’mores and loved it
The appliances are newer and top end
Everything worked perfectly
We will stay here again on our next visit to Portland
If you need it, this property has it! So many lovely added touches to make the stay comfortable and luxurious. Well appointed linens, a plethora of throws, and even a heated floor in the bathroom area. Automatic lights in the huge walk in closet and the laundry area. Every cooking utensil imaginable and a great supply of dishes. A humongous refrigerator for all your needs. The freezers are separate drawers to the left of the sink. For ambiance an attractive and warm gas fire place. It was cold and rainy/snowy so we enjoyed the indoors. Additionally, the home was decorated for Christmas which was a lovely touch when you are away from your own home. The beds were comfortable and the shower amazing. We highly recommend this place if you are in the south Portland area. We travel to Portland often and will definitely try to rent here again.
I was in the area with my small dog for a week of specialized veterinary treatment and this house made a difficult week a truly comfortable one! The house is welcoming, warm, and cozy and also modern and solid in the best ways (wonderful gas fireplace, high end appliances, heated floors, modern construction, comfortable linens and furniture). I was able to work seamlessly during the stay (fast internet) and the neighborhood is a quiet and safe one. There is a nice 24 Hour Fitness within a 10 minute drive that sells guest passes. The Safeway down the hill is a good one. All in all, this is a house I would love to come back to and bring my entire family with me-- thank you, Patricia, for sharing this spot and for your responsiveness!
This was a very lovely place to stay while in Portland visiting my daughter. The home is "as advertised"--it very much resembles the photos and is a very pleasant space. The owner was very responsive on a few things that were not working--the ice maker in the freezer and the outdoor patio lights--and I expect those will be working for future visitors. I would recommend this place!
We feel so fortunate to have stayed in the Hilltop Hideaway for a little over a month. I've rented many short-term houses over the years through various sites and will say that this experience was one of the very best. Our host Patricia treated us to a fabulous Bob's Red Mill gift bag left on the table complete w/fresh baked sourdough bread, marionberry jam, granola & vegetable soup mix. The house was spotless and more well-stocked than any other I have rented. So many lovely extra touches like essential oil diffusers, one of which was going when we first entered the house. The kitchen is very well appointed with high end appliances, and had every thing we needed including spices, paper products, cleaning supplies, etc. The quiet backyard has two wonderful seating areas and a very nice gas BBQ which we took advantage of to grill fresh salmon. We loved the hummingbird visits while having coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening. I love too that a house this nice allows small to medium sized dogs, that's hard to find in nicer properties for obvious reasons. You would never know that an animal had stayed here before. Our Boston Terrier Baba loved the backyard too, and we all three thoroughly enjoyed our extended walks through the neighborhood. We always felt safe and welcomed. Patricia was wonderful helping us out with a few things, very responsive, thoughtful, and kind. She even offered to have her housekeeping service clean once during our extended stay, we took her up on it and they did an exceptional job. Patricia obviously cares a lot about providing a lovely experience for her guests and it shows in so many ways. We highly recommend this property and are looking forward to staying here again as soon as we return to the area.
Absolutely gorgeous MCM home with overprotective owner
I cannot say more about how wonderful this home is! It is absolutely beautiful, extremely well-stocked (even had a small cooler for use), very comfortable, beds are amazing, showers are incredible, great mudroom, kitchen fully-equipped, fantastic neighborhood. My only 2 complaints would be the wood chips from the yard being constantly tracked in by the dog and too much contact from the owner. The owner is very particular and micro-manages the booking and the stay. The owner called and texted many times; I felt like I couldn't relax and vacation. Read the pdf to understand all the rules, special rules about the number of guest and the age and number dogs allowed at the property. Housekeeping is exorbitant.
By now, I have stayed in lot of vacation rentals. This was our first time in Portland and we chose this house mainly for "value for money" and Turo car rental which was near by (which got cancelled due to different reasons). The house is cozy and even if relatively smaller in size, it is PERFECT for a small family. Everything worked exactly like it is supposed to. Patricia went above and beyond to answer all my house and non-house questions. The house is decorated with a unique taste which sets it apart. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.
This is the best places we have stayed! Peaceful and privateabs we will actually miss the house and neighborhood. Anyone staying in Portland should stay here.
This was a wonderful little house with a delightful back yard and gas fire pit. It was very clean and full of little amenities like essential oil vaporizers, fancy soaps and hand creams, etc. The fenced yard was a great space for my daughter's dog to run around in. The kitchen was perfect, well stocked. My husband, our 2 daughters and one boyfriend spent time in this cozy little house. Our daughter, who lived nearby, a short 7 min. drive from this house, and her boyfriend, ended up staying at their own house with their dog basically because of the sofa bed not being very comfortable. I don't think I have ever slept on a comfortable sofa bed and this was no exception. So I would say this house is perfect for 2 couples and perhaps a small child. Patricia was responsive and informative. I would definitely stay there again but not with the same expectation that it would sleep 5-6 comfortably.
Everything was as advertised on the app. House was clean and well stocked. The hostess was kind and responsive. Will definitely check it out again next time we're in town.
This is a special place. The location to downtown Portland and surrounding Mt. Hood area is convenient and ready to navigate. The home was warm, welcoming, fully stocked and has special amenities - gas fireplace and wonderful backyard with an outdoor firepit, which was perfect for outdoor relaxation with a glass of wine! The host was extremely responsive to all questions.
We had to spend a week out of our home in Oregon City while our floors were being refinished. What a treat to be able to stay in Patricia's lovely home in this quiet neighborhood! Everything we needed was there, and more. She's really thought of everything. And the home is even better than the photos. Patricia was a great host. Very easy to communicate with. A perfect 10!
This house was perfect in every way. I want ti build a duplicate on my property in Julian!!!
