Every aspect of this home has been completely rebuilt from the foundation up. In early 2016 we took on the monumental task of taking the existing structure down to the foundation. We meticulously removed everything between the foundation and the roof structure expanding and re-configuring the floor plan. The end result was an efficient 2 bedroom 2 bath beach house with top end finishes that lives sophisticated but comfortable. Walls, windows, kitchen, baths, fireplace, flat screen TV (Premium Channels) Herring bone patterned floors, Mahogany doors, Quartz counters, Stainless steel appliances, French doors open to front patio.

This place was perfect for a long weekend with my grandparents visiting from out of state. Easily walkable to beach and bars/restaurants. Definitely recommend for those wanting to stay in OB!
This is a cute and cozy place to stay while visiting San Diego, Ocean Beach and surrounding areas. Host was extremely responsive and helpful. Location is great - only a couple-minute walk to the beach.
We really loved this place - from the lush garden of a front patio to the comfy beds, it was a perfect little beach cottage! It is a tight squeeze but also plenty of space for 4 as long as you all love each other (but would you be sharing a Vrbo with people you don’t love?!?) The home had all the basic essentials stocked up, and if anything is missing you can mosey to any one of the many markets nearby. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend this rental if you’re in town to relax!
We were visiting our kids who live in OB and Mission Hills and this place was perfect for us, very close to the beach, shops , downtown OB and the courtyard was a great place for us to gather. The place itself is modern and nicely put together with care. Definitely come back!
Beautiful property. Spacious clean living area and patio. Great location. Only downside being under the flight path for the airport. Did not expect that.
We found this to be in a great location. We stayed a very short time but we’re able to enjoy Torrey Pines, La Jolla, children’s pool,
San Diego Zoo. We drove the cost to Laguna beach and watched many sun sets at sunset cliffs. We enjoyed Many great restaurants walking distance toward the pier.
Ended our trip for souvenirs in “old town San Diego” 👍
I had an great stay at this little house with my friend, and it was absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived, everything was great. The host was super friendly and helpful, making sure we had all the information we needed. The place was clean, and beautifully decorated, making us feel right at home. We loved the convenient location, close to all the cool spots and easy to get around, and walking distance to the beach. Best of all, we had zero issues or problems during our stay. It was a stress-free and enjoyable experience from start to finish. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic SB getaway!

The good and the bad.
The good was spending time on the patio. The bad was we didn’t have time to search for a propane tank and rest assured you will have to if you want to use the fire pit or grill.
We loved our stay in San Diego. The House was immaculate and had pretty much everything we could have asked for. The only downfall for us was the No AC part. Although for the most part we were very comfortable two nights were hotter than the others. Being from Texas I didn't think to look for AC as an amenity, so I know this is on us. Other than that the stay was perfect location and family friendly :)

Cozy and neat and very very close to airport Difficult to use lock box upside down
The owners instructions are clear but the tone is threatening and off putting. We didn’t feel comfortable being watched and living under threat of eviction
We have loved coming to this house for years—this was our 4th stay if that tells you anything. Its location is so awesome. The place is clean, comes with beach chairs/sand toys/boogie boards, etc. And the front patio is really awesome.
Please note that the owner does say that they don’t refill the propane for the BBQ or the fire pit—they rely on tenants to do so. To me that just means that the fire pit and bbq aren’t available because most folks aren’t going to fill and “donate” a tank of fuel to a house that isn’t their own. If we stay again, I’ll bring a tank from home next time (if we are driving), because it was a bummer not to be able to enjoy the fire at night.
I have a short work trip every summer and almost always pick OB for my stay. This spot was perfect location, and so cute! We had a last minute add-on (2 moms, with 2 16 yo daughters) so it was a bit more cramped than we expected, but the beds are comfy and having two full bathrooms was a bonus! Owners did a great job making this small space work well for up to 4 people. We did yoga in the open front courtyard each morning, spent our days on the beach, went back to watch sunset each night, and had some excursions to La Jolla for snorkeling, and made a few visits to Clementine Tattoos for a permanent memento! (Joel's the BEST!) Do NOT pass up OB Noodles, and find your way to Grass Skirt Tikki restaurant in Pacific Beach one night. Thanks for a great spot to stay this year. We'll be back in OB next summer!

Beautifully updated, close to beach with parking
We enjoyed our stay. The place is small but very nicely remodeled. One of the selling points for me was the big courtyard with fireplace so when it wasn't working I was pretty disappointed. We did contact the owner about this and he was prompt to reply but the fire pit didn't get fixed. Also I did feel that the security camera over the front door was odd and I felt like I was being watched the whole time. I understand that the area might not be the safest but a disclaimer about the camera would be a nice touch. Although the beds were small, they were comfortable and anything larger definitely would not fit. All in all I would recommend. Very close to the beach and restaurants.

GREAT cottage a block from the beach...
This cottage is pretty much a gem in the Ocean Beach section of San Diego. Very nicely redone and the outside area is a bonus...we stayed out around the fire pit every night. Only problem was the cottage is directly in the take off flight plan for the San DIego airport...starts at 6:30 am and ends around 11 pm...it is VERY LOUD!! Had to abort conversations until they passed (at one point in the morning...planes left literally every minute).
The Ocean Beach area is more a "surfer-dude" type beach...and there are many people sleeping everywhere (beach, cars, etc). The dog beach is really entertaining....soooo many dogs coming and going and playing...fun to watch. William was kind to suggest a couple of restaurants we enjoyed. And the house was really very nice (could use a few more hooks to hang up clothes and a couple more bed side tables).
All in all, we had a good time and would recommend this cottage (with comments taken into consideration).
I enjoyed staying at this VRBO in San Diego. The beds are not big enough to sleep comfortably 2 people in a bed. I went there with 3 other female adults. One of my guest slept on the couch because it couldn’t accommodate. There was construction next door to the place we were staying. I probably missed it but I didn’t see anything in the notes from the owner there would be construction next door. The workers woke up my guest and myself the 3 days we stayed there. I stayed Thursday through Sunday. Friday and Saturday morning the workers started before 7 am. I reached out to the owner to let him know and I was told I was already informed by the property listing. I didn’t see anything about construction going on while we would be staying. It happens I’m not upset but it would’ve been nice to sleep in. Other than the small issues it was a nice place to stay, close to the airport, beach and other places to visit.
Let me start with the positives – great location, just a few blocks from the beach, very nice place with recent updates throughout the house, very nice patio area and a reserved parking spot is very necessary.
The only negative is a major one with insufficient air conditioning. If it is above 70 degrees outside then the portable air conditioning unit is not enough to cool this space. It would keep one bedroom cool, but that won’t do when there are multiple individuals staying in the house. When I informed the host of this he did drop off three box fans. It was in the 90’s during our stay and those didn’t help much. He said it’s a portable air conditioning unit so move it where you need to. This unit’s condensation tray would fill up with water in 30 minutes and a "P1" would show on the display. When that happens you must empty it or else the unit wouldn’t cool, just blow air. I’m not sure what the host expects you to do through the night. We went to a business and purchased a hose and a clamp so it could drain to a sink or a shower. We also tried to purchase an additional air conditioning unit of any kind, but with a heat wave bearing down on Southern California they were all sold out. They had an evaporating fan which we tried, but these are not air conditioners and only helped slightly. We returned this at the end of our trip. Too much of our time was spent trying to cool this space. If you’re going to list air conditioning as an amenity, then make sure it’s proficient to cool the whole space. We looked specifically for a rental with air conditioning and were willing to pay a higher price for it and it was not provided.
We’ve stayed at many rentals, but have never had to work so hard at trying to stay cool in one. I’m a landlord in Kentucky and I’ve installed Mini Split Air Conditioning units in similar spaces. They are very efficient and affordable.
To sum it up, this issue would keep us from staying at this location again. In addition, a ten seconds video on locking the front door would be a good replacement for the paragraph trying to explain how to do it in the binder.
The only issue we had was the glass bedroom doors. When lights in the hallway or hallway bathroom are turned on it really lights up the bedroom. Other than that we had a very pleasant experience everything was as described in listing, hosts were very pleasant and communications were responded quickly and clear..
We feel blessed to have lived in San Diego for the past 30 years. Our wish is to create unique spaces so that our guests can experience the best that San Diego has to offer.
Why they chose this property
This property is unique because it has been completely rebuilt from the ground up and located only 1/2 block from world famous Ocean Beach. Our guest get to enjoy this fantastic location as well as every modern convenience in a stylish beach bungalow. The beach lots are typically tight but this one is large by comparison. This beach house rests at the back of the lot which allows for a generous amount of outdoor space to relax and entertain. We do not accept changes to calendar 7 days prior to arrival. Please note there will be construction on the corner lot- potential noise which we have no control over
What makes this property unique
The location of the beach house is ideal to take advantage of the beach, nearby restaurants, pubs, antique shops, fishing, biking and other water front attractions.
