Mary and I decided to get into the short term rental business, when her father, was having so much success in Folly beach South Carolina. After all, Mary and I tied the knot in Charleston S.C. outside of Folly. We had a Florida room with a bunch of exercise equipment, that was totally not getting used...lol. That's when we decided to build out the Pelican Pad. We opened up in April of 2019. It started right away, booking like crazy. Three months later we are opening the Flamingo Flat. One month later I putting my notice in to my employer. we opened up our HSJ Hospitality business. We now have 5 places and cohost one. Couldn't ask for a better job, a better wife, or a better life
Why they chose this property
Mary and I purchased this home because we fell in love with the home and property. The neighborhood is so welcoming. Being so close to Clearwater and Dunedin to the north, and you go south and you are within 20 min of St Pete. You are only 20 minutes, depending on traffic, to Tampa. the Pinellas trail runs right behind the property. Its 55 ft above sea level. You don't need to worry about flooding. Its such a safe neighborhood. Our neighbor Janet has live in her house since 1976. She can not ever remember a break in. Its pretty perfect!
