Palliparambil is our family name. Palli means "Church" in local language and Parambil means "Land" (Empty land). My dad is born and brought up in Fort Kochi and 45 years he is living here in Odatha. Our previous home is just 3 mins from our homestay and it is now rented and my dad is staying in the first floor of the homestay. I am living in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). We all grew up in Fort Kochi (My fater, my mom). My mom died in 2012. My wife and 2 daughters lives just 18 Km away from our homestay. My father studied in Santa Cruz and I studied in St: Pauls. It is just 3-5 mins away from homestay.

Why they chose this property

As a guest if you live in a road side homestay or near the beach you will not able to enjoy the local culture.
History of Odatha - Our homestay in in one of the oldest residential area in Fort Kochi and once it was garden and it is the birth place of "HORTUS MALABARICUS". Odatha was the offical residense of Henrtric Van Rheede The book was writen with his personnel attension. So Odatha is the birth place of Hotus Malabaricus.
Odatha means GARDEN. The Garden was maintained to collect observations from the plants to write and draw pictures. So it supports the claim odatha is the birth place. The word odatha is derived from the Dutch word hortha which means garden. In the 17th century, during the Dutch rule in Kochi, a botanical garden was established in this area. It is likely that this was the first botanical garden in India.

What makes this property unique

No pets to bother you. No sound horn. No pollution. No family staying with you. You are free to do whatever you want. Good for family. Calm and quite away from city. Relax and enjoy your stay with us.
