Come visit and enjoy our home. Use of our two kayaks is available, in addition to paddleboat, and rowboat or bring your own boat. Great location for a barbecue and to watch the sunrise!
Large jacuzzi tub to relax.
Nearby is Hudson, full of antiques and restaurants. Less than 45 minutes to Saratoga Springs and famous horse racing! Same for the Berkshire mountains of Massachusetts.

Great Vacation

The house was nice and surprisingly big. We enjoyed the row boat for fishing. The surrounding area had a lot to do. Overall great place to escape and relax!

Our Favorite Vacation Spot

This is our third time staying at this property and we love it! The owner is responsive and very helpful. The home is comfortable, family friendly and the property is large, private and safe. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing and swimming in the lake outlet which is a no wake zone. There is a train trestle which provides excitement every time a train goes by! The grocery store and pharmacy are just 5 min. away. We are already looking forward to next year!

Beautiful memories made

We stayed at this beautiful property for 4 days/ 3nights. The property was very clean and had all the essentials needed for a stay. It was big enough for all us to have our own space and not feel cramped. We all had so much fun with the kayaks and peddle boat. Having the lake right outside made things so much easier. The kids didn't want to leave and were asking when will we return. The owner of this property is great, any questions we had he quickly replied back. This is one property we highly recommend and look forward to return next year.

Beautiful Setting. Great Hosts

Set on an isolated inlet on Kinderhook Lake, this property's setting is beautiful and private. The house is comfortable, clean and well equipped. The hosts are friendly, responsive and generous. This was our second trip here and we hope to return again and again.

Lake Kinderhook

Great house. Roomy and well equipped. Great location. Sits right on the water while also having a large yard. Easy check in. Good communication with owner. Kayaks and a pedal boat are provided and were enjoyed by all. House is quite secluded . There is a picturesque stone railroad bridge and the passing trains were fun for the grandchildren. Everything was as advertised, four large bedrooms and two large bathrooms, laundry, well equipped kitchen. The living room has a large window looking out to the water. The dining table seats ten. A deer family would visit occasionally but were quite well behaved😁. Many birds provided a lyrical backdrop. We had a very enjoyable week.

Great place to stay with a family!

This is our second stay at this property and we are already planning on returning next year! The house is spacious and comfortable for people of all ages. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large and having a full size washer and dryer is a bonus. The river is shallow making it safe for children to swim and play. There is also a large yard for playing and relaxing. The property is tucked away from the road which adds to the safety and privacy. The kayaks and pedal boat provided by the owner are fun too! Trains cross the bridge frequently during the day and evening but they do not run at night. It is fun to anticipate what kind of train it will be and then count the cars. Our longest train this year had 4 engines and 153 cars! So exciting!

John always has the place ready.

Was another great stay. Many nights alone but most days my local families would visit. Everything u need and want is 2 miles away for cooking and entertaining my family. Fishing is fantastic, and again, thanks John for havind Steve take my family out. See ya next year.

Fabulous Weekend at Kinderhook Lake

We have stayed at quite a few rental homes and this one is just about the best appointed home we've experienced. The owners have thought of everything and the house is generously appointed. The location, on an access canal to the main lake is picturesque, charming, quiet, and relaxing. You can fish from the dock, or jump in one of the provided kayaks and pick your spot anywhere along the expansive lake. A rail bridge built in 1914 supports several freight and passenger trains each day and only adds to the overall charm of the property. Nice roaring fires in the fire pit rounded out each evening while the brilliant stars revealed themselves. We truly had a blast at this house and are already planning our return trip.

Wonderful Lakeside House!

Stayed for a week with some friends - we loved being on the lake, and especially the kayaking! The house was very nice, plenty of space and beds, good wifi, everything as described. Would gladly recommend!

Wonderful place to stay!

This was our 4th try at finding a rental home in this area for our family vacation and this one was just right! There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 children to sleep and play. The yard is large and the lake at this location is shallow so we had a great time playing, swimming and using the boats provided. There are life jackets in all sizes in a bin on the deck and everything is clean and well kept. Inside the house, the bedrooms are large with comfortable beds. The bathrooms are also large! The kitchen and living space are just right too. We had everything we needed and more. The trains go by at different times night and day but we found that after the first couple nights, they didn't even disturb our sleep. My grandchildren loved them! There is quite a bit of boat traffic in front of the house which we also found very entertaining. It is a no wake zone and everyone was respectful and friendly. The owner is great to work with and responds quickly to all questions. The house is in a great location accessible to everything and we can't wait to return next year!

Great family time

We enjoyed our stay. House was immaculate and so nice. We fished, kayaked, and grilled food. Had a little National Lampoons Vacation moment with some wayward bees but the owner was quick to send his manager Steve over to take care of it. This also enabled us to have a wonderful time on Steves boat with his wife Donna as they do tours of the lake. Highly recommend. The deer were interesting family of 5 hanging out wherever they felt like lol. The property was private and quaint with all amenities. We had 4 adults and one child and more than enough room. People passing by on the lake were friendly and funny. We would definitely rent again. Thank you John for always resoonding quickly to questions and for helping us when we needed.

Perfect Stay

As w other properties few folks stayed w me as live in area. Main purpose of this VRBO is location plus lots to do during the day. Lot's of badminton, corn hole, fishing, kayaking, grilling, fire pit...we enjoyed all of it. Will repeat next year.

Nice lake front house great for kids, we enjoyed our stay

The house sits very close to the lake just as pictured, it is on the only public access channel to the lake so you will have traffic flow in front of the house. It is a no wake zone so the traffic is slow. Also the house sits very close to a main road so it's not a quite country setting. There will be car and truck noise. The train was fun and the bridge and very picturesque.

Wonderful stay by the lake

A perfect location right on the lake, and spacious and comfortable accommodation. Great amenities like a top notch grill set up, canoes and kayaks, and outdoor picnic tables for group meals. The only negative was a couple of visits from a bothersome neighbor, which the host took care of and compensated us for, otherwise a wonderful getaway!

Very Relaxing waterfront home

We really enjoyed are week on Kinderhook Lake. The home had everything we needed. The Kayaks and Pedal Boats were a lot of fun. My favorite part was the Kayaking (my first time). The location was nice and private. There are trains that come by a few times a day but it didn’t bother us at all and I never heard them on the overnight. . The owners were totally awesome and since there weren’t any renters leaving the day we were arriving, they offered for us to come early in the day to enjoy our first full day there. We did arrive early and got to get settled in and still had a good part of the day to enjoy the lake. House and beds were really comfy. We will be going back again!

Awesome family get away!

House was very spacious and had everything you could possibly need. Beds and furniture was very comfortable and the house was spotless. We had 3 couples and two small children and there was more than enough room for all of us. We spent all day on the lake in the kayaks and paddle boat and did some fishing off the dock and shore. The owners were fantastic. We got several emails from them prior to the trip and a few while we were there just checking in to see if we needed anything. Our whole family had a wonderful time. Highly recommended!!

Lakeside Vacation

Nice, big, secluded (to our surprise) and clean house. With exception of passing trains (4-5 times per day), it is a very quite location. We rented pontoon boat and Steve (property manager) show us some good spots for fishing. John is very accommodating host who allowed us to come earlier and stay later. We enjoyed out staying and most likely will come again.

Nice calm setting for getting on the lake

We really enjoyed our stay at Kinderhook lake! The hosts have made sure to provide all the amenities to be able to enjoy the lake and the property to the fullest! The property's setting with the bridge and the bay is very interesting. It makes the lake access very intimate.

Exactly what we needed

As described and exactly what we were looking for. Located near great towns, sites and trails to explore outdoors. While also providing the perfect outdoor space to just stay home. The kids spent hours at the waters edge, running around the yard and even rowing out to the lake. The train was never a bother at night and the kids enjoyed seeing it pass. John was also easy to communicate with. Definitely the relaxing long weekend we were hoping for. Thank you.
