Free Kayaks, Bikes, & Boat Dockage! Waterfront Home

This charming Home 2/2 that accommodates 6 people has been renovated with all the amenities needed for a great vacation. Located on Sombrero Beach Rd, this home is walking distance to the lovely Sombrero Beach, just a few blocks away from Publix, Winn-Dixie, CVS, great restaurants and local Bars.
The House is located in the heart of the Florida Keys, at Mile Marker 50 in Marathon, located on the Ocean side, Only a one hour car drive to Key West. The property Dock can accommodate comfortably up to a 35 foot Boat. Dock has a Fish cleaning table with a fresh water faucet & a Salt water hand pump. The dock also has a Shore power pedestal with 115V shore power, 120V AC outlet, a shower and a Fresh water hose for wash-down.
The House is comfortable for either fishing and or just relaxing as you wish. There is a freezer provided for your bait as well as a refrigerator for refreshments on the ground floor for your use. Just minutes away from the open water fishing grounds where you can enjoy catching various snappers species, grouper, tarpon, cobia, sailfish, dolphin (mahi), wahoo, tuna, king mackerel etc . . . and also Beautiful snorkeling or SCUBA diving to catch stone crab or lobster when in season. Close to Crane Point Museum & Nature Center, Bahia Honda State Park, seven mile bridge and great shallow & deep water fishing and diving. We also have a Live Bait Holding pen on site for you convenience.
The house has comfortable furniture and central A/C. We provide towels and linens. We have a stainless steel BBQ for outdoor cooking. Our home has Premium cable TV Service, FREE High speed WIFI Wireless Internet, Flat Screen TV's in both the living room and each bedroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed, the 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed and the living room there is a queen Trundle pull-out bed. We have a full kitchen with brand new appliances, microwave, plates, pots, pans, toaster, coffeemaker, blender, and utensils for your convenience.
There is ample parking in front of the house for cars and boat trailer. There are several convenient FREE boat ramps in town for launching your boat with the closest being on the bay side on 34th street in Marathon. We have a 2 kayaks ( a single & a dual pax ), a paddle Board & 2 Bicycles on the ground floor that you can use for strolling thru the waterways or neighborhood at your leisure. There are 2 Hammocks, a picnic table & 4 lawn chairs for just relaxing.
This is our home that we enjoy and we invite and would like you to enjoy as well!

Great Vacation

Cute little house with great amenities. The backyard is fantastic and our toddler enjoyed the hammocks. Beds and couch were comfortable. TVs and internet worked fine. It is on a busier road across from a high school so a little noisy and need to be mindful for younger kids. The dock was nice and enjoyed the ride out through the canals. The canal is a little narrow but we were still able to get turned around easily enough. It was great being so close to Sombrero Beach and it was close to any of the restaurants we wanted to go to. Overall we would stay here again!

Fun time in the keys!

Good central location in Keys. Location of house is directly across the street from a school so trash trucks woke us up at 5:30 every morning so gave it 3 stars for that as it wasn’t clear when looking at house. The house is really cute and decorated nicely! If up early to fish or start your day, not a problem and would recommend!

Relaxing Vacation!

This is a beautiful home and is stocked with bikes, games, beach chairs and everything else you need to enjoy fishing and the beach. The backyard is a tropical paradise and the deck is a perfect place to sit and relax at the end of the day. Close to the beach, restaurants and stores. Perfect rental!

Marathon rental

House was very clean and comfortable, property was very well kept. Dock was great and very clean. Easy ride out to ocean through Sisters Creek. Storage room downstairs was perfect for rods and equipment-bait freezer works great. It was nice to have extra fridge also. Plenty of parking for vehicles and trailer. Host was available for any questions we had. Would definitely stay there again - we had a great time!

The house amazingly clean and the pictures are 100% accurate and real! Great location and lots to do in the area. The back yard is amazing. This place has absolutely everything you need to enjoy your time. The Manatees even came for a visit in the canal

Perfect location...perfect home

We had a great time for Spring Break 2023! The house itself had everything we needed or could want. The outdoor living space was perfect; especially the hammocks, hot tub and bean bags! Indoors everything was clean and orderly. There was plenty of room for four adults and two teenagers. The location had you 5 minutes from just about anything you could need. Would definitely recommend to anyone and stay again!! Dora was super responsive and courteous throughout all of our communications! Thank you!!!

The house was immaculate and came with so many extras. Host thought if everything, from books and games and beach equipment to a kitchen equipped with everything you may need. Great property in great location

My husband and I took a winter break in mid-January and visited Dora's home in the Sombrero Beach area of Marathon, FL. We had to change or trip plans last year after Hurricane Ian hit the Fort Myers area. We settled on Marathon and I am so glad we made the decision to stay at Dora's home. It was outstanding and we had a hard time leaving. Positives about the home include it's location along Sombrero Beach Road. We were only a mile from a small community beach, the grocery store and gas station. The intersection at the Overseas Highway also had a traffic light which was very helpful when traffic was heavy. The neighborhood has walking and bicycle paths everywhere and most of the homes, including Dora's, back onto canals. We enjoyed sitting in the back area with plenty of chairs and a hot tub perfect for evenings. The home was very clean and had everything we needed plus a few perks including a portable, wireless speaker we used to listen to music on the deck. The home also has plenty of parking and lower level storage with bikes and beach chairs/umbrellas. We didn't need to purchase any extras during the trip. If I had any suggestions to offer it would be helpful to know where to leave any extras we purchase for future renters. For example, we had a few unopened sodas and food items which we left in the downstairs fridge. Dora was very responsive. I messaged a few times and she replied within less than 30 minutes. The communication was outstanding and very much appreciated. Overall, we had a wonderful time. There is so much to do in Marathon from the turtle hospital and dolphin research center to snorkeling, boating and fishing. We especially enjoyed the nearby Dockside bar/restaurant in the neighborhood which had daily music and decent food. We also rented bicycles which we road from the house to Pigeon Key along the Old Seven Mile Bridge. You won't lack for fun things to do and Dora's home is the perfect.place to stay.

Wonderful summer getaway!!

Dora’s home was very clean and our experience was a great one. We stayed in her home for a week for my son’s 17th birthday/ summer vacation. I wish we could have stayed longer. We didn’t have a boat but her home is perfect if you have one that you want to bring with you. The kayaks and paddle board came in handy. We spent a lot of time snorkeling a couple local spots. We rented a boat for a day and went to sombrero reef which was beautiful. The house is in a great location, close to the 7 mile bridge and about an hour to key west. We had an amazing time and Dora’s home was very accommodating.

Marathon Key Trip

Great 2 bedroom, 2 bath plus fold out. Updated and well- maintained unit on a canal. A bit of a ride to the ocean but not bad. Had a hot tub, gas grill, bikes and some water toys. Even had friendly neighbors. The home was very near to restaurants and a supermarket (Publix). I certainly recommend this rental; my family and I had a great time!

Great House

This was a very convenient location. The hot tub was nice to sit in at night. Overall this is a great place to stay. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. I would definitely stay at this home again we go to the keys several times a year.

Amazing Stay!

Dora’s house was very clean, comfortable with updated kitchen and bathroom.

We were very impressed and pleased with the property and the caring, nice and responsible property owner Dora. We have rented dozens of properties in many states and this was the first one that exceeded our expectation. Great beds, pillows and couches are priceless when you travel 1,300 miles for your one vacation a year. Fortunate and blessed.

Family Get Away

We have been visiting the Marathon area on a regular basis for fishing and diving over the past 20 years, most of the time in the Sombrero Beach area at the same house. Unfortunately the owner sold the place and we have been trying different places. This was out first time staying in Dora's place and at the end of the trip every said we need to book this one for next year. The house was just the right size for our family and was very well equipped, the kitchen offered nice dishes, cooking items and appliances along with niceties' that you would not always think about bringing such as spices. Dora's taste in décor really fits the house and brings out the beach feel and putting you in a relaxed state of mind. We go to the keys to fish and dive, the dock worked out very nicely along with the fish cleaning station, and has running water and power. The ground level storage area has a refrigerator and bait freezer which made it nice for fishing and also a good place to store rods and gear. When we weren't on the water we spent almost all of our time on the rear deck or down stairs in the outdoor seating area which was nicely laid out with a tropical feel. We are already discussing our next trip down and are planning to stay at Dora's place again. Thank you for the use of you beautiful home. Rich, Lisa, Will, Jennifer, and Bridia.

Very clean property in a safe neighborhood.

If I had to complain about something, it would be that the two bicycles 🚲 that come with the rental are in bad need of some upkeep. Everything else about the place is great. I'd say it looks better than the listing. Dora the property manager is super friendly and easy to get hold of if you have questions. Thanks again Dora for the beautiful flowers and wine you had waiting for us to celebrate our 25th anniversary. You da bomb.
