The house had the old school cottage feel. Plenty of room for our big family. The lower suite was amazing! Like two homes in one!

A cousins get away
A traditional lake house get away. The knotty pine interior brought back many childhood memories. The view of Lake Huron was most relaxing. This place met or exceeded all our expectations and the cleanliness and thoughtful touches were much appreciated.

Nice cottage right in the water. The knotty pine gives it a wonderful up north feel. The sleeping arrangements were as advertised and worked great. I would recommend this cottage.

Extended family summer vacation!
This place was so much fun for our extended family! It was so clean, stocked for anything, and we were greeted right away by T.J. the owner! She was delightful & helpful! We were pleased at how shallow Lake Huron can be for swimming in comparison to other great lakes. Due to the rise in water levels there are steel walls for erosion protection. With little children we had some concern about the lack of rails along the edge of these tall walls, yet made it work. The treat was seeing the sunrise & set all in one beautiful place!

Family Vacation 2022
We had a great time! The "grandkids" (all adults now) could drive up after work, which they did (from Caro & Akron). One daughter/fiancée live in Essexville and said they weren't going to stay but ended up staying two nights! We even had extra beds! Lots of parking: had six cars at one point, and visitors for a few hours we didn't expect from Caseville, so we could entertain them too. Loved the view from the outside deck watching the sunset. Everything about the place suited us very well. We highly recommend it! The grandkids even stated that the cottage felt comfy and homey. Great place! Thank you for sharing it with us.

Just Perfect!!
This property was not only beautiful, but the location and views were simply amazing! Oh my the sunsets!!! And talk about having literally everything you need! Every detail was taken care of from eating utensils, pots and pans, dishes, kitchen stocked with spices. There are plenty of bath and beach towels, games, outdoor furniture, fire pit, grill. We only left the property for about 2 hours to go on a short hike. I wish we had more than a weekend because we could literally have stayed here for a month and enjoyed every second of it! We also found the living room furniture to be so unique, very cottage vibe to it, but solid wood, very well made and upholstery looked brand new but with a classic old school look to it! This is the place to stay for an incredible weekend, week or more in the thumb! We will definitely be back next year.

Phenomenal Sand Point Stay
The place is awesome! Location is great! Communication and assistance from the owners is top-notch. A lot of memories made with family and friends at this absolute gem on the North Shore of Sand Point. The cottage had everything you could possibly ask for... plenty of room, 2 full baths, sunroom and an extra fridge downstairs to keep all the food (and beers) cold! A nice grill, kayaks, a portable fire pit and 2 beaches (upper and lower) to pick from... along with a great garage (boathouse) set-up for rainy days... a great time was had by all even with a couple days of rain! Thanks a million!

Great for a large group
We had a group of 9 ladies staying at this property for a weekend away and it was just perfect. The only challenge for a large group is the size of the kitchen. Other than that, the location is beautiful, the space is cozy and well furnished, beds are comfortable and there are plenty of them, and everything is provided for. We were so pleased with the availability of basic essentials both in the kitchen and in the bathroom. If I had another group getaway, I would certainly be back!

Vintage Cottage With All the Updates!
The Lilac Cottage was as close to perfect as any rental we've ever stayed in! We have a large blended family that includes our adult children with their spouses and 3 grandchildren, and we just loved our time there last week! I look forward to renting this property again soon! PROS: The vintage charm of the inside will leave you fondly remembering family vacations of your own childhood while having all the updates and technology of today, not the least of which are AC, WiFi, and three flat screen TVs with a gazillion channels and access to Netflix! The kitchen is fully stocked and its appliances, including the dishwasher, are new. The owner has even provided a Keurig with k-cups in addition to a regular coffee pot for those relaxing mornings on the patio overlooking the lake, and there is an industrial sized refrigerator for beverages and overflow as well as a big, new washer/dryer set in the basement as soon as you walk in and a gas grill and picnic table on the patio beside the house on the lake side! The apartment sized room in the basement was fantastic for our oldest grandson and his cousin. The adults shared the king size bed and the boys each had their own twin plus a family room area with a big flat screen TV where they played video games when they tired of being with the adults and babies. We called them the "cave dwellers" because at 10 and 12, they were usually tired of us so spent a lot of time in their "cave", but because the room is downstairs, this grandma didn't need to see or stress about the messes they made and it was all cleaned up before they left! CONS: (These are NOT complaints! As I stated in the beginning, this was the best place we have rented over the years, but each family is unique so I provide the following as feedback for those multigenerational groups with little ones like us looking to rent.) The biggest disappointment was the lack of beach, but I have rented on Sand Point for many years now and know how the water levels fluctuate from year-to-year. We were still able to access the water using a ladder and enjoyed floating on rafts and taking the kayaks out. The backyard (roadside) is better for small children due to the steep stairs and drop offs from the patios to the water and cement boathouse pad in the front yard. We made the best of things though and used a small inflatable kiddie pool for our two youngest grandchildren and played some mean games of wiffle ball in the private drive off the main road!

Weekend getaway
The Lilac House was a lovely cabin in Caseville. We only had 4 people so the house was plenty big for us. Everything you needed was there and then some. The use of their kayaks was convenient, the towels, sheets, beds were all nice, clean and comfortable. The owner was very responsive with before we arrived and also with any questions while we were there. My only suggestion would be update the listing so does not show as beachfront. We were looking forward to letting our kids play right in front of the house, but the water levels are so high, there is no beach right now. Not the owners fault, obviously, but our expectation was there was a beach. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay!

The location of property is perfect. It is maintained really well. The kitchen is stocked with lots of items. It also provides kayaks, floats and many other item to make your time in water fun. They also have fire pit and provide wood! The internet connection may not be first thing on your mind when you go there but if you need one they have really good connection.
