Great location with plenty of room for all
I rented this property for my wife and her friends to celebrate a birthday. The group was 12 people to include 4 children of varying ages. There was plenty of room for everyone and the location was perfect. We were walking distance to good food, to include Holy Smokes BBQ on the property, and only a short drive to more outdoor activities than we could fit in a weekend. I would recommend this to anyone with a large group looking to stay in the area.

Good location. Stay & Eat & Ski rental are in the same spot.
Great stay and nice view. Reasonable price. We enjoyed staying here for our ski trip. Clean. We were mostly cooking bcoz of pandemic and this place provides lots of cookwares and tablewares. Our group has teenagers and they love to stay in loft in Chalet 3. It will be excellent if they have laundry in house and more bedrooms.

Property was very quaint and we had a great time. Owners were very friendly and attentive to our needs. We were in Chalet #3. Our only recommendations would be to somehow let guest know that Chalet #3 does not have a kitchen and that the mini fridge holds very little. The coffee pot cannot be used unless put on the floor because cord will not reach the outlet. This Chalet would be perfect if it only had a kitchen.

Myself and three other little girls met in a church over 50 years ago. Our journeys have brought us all back to that same church half a century later. To celebrate, we booked a long weekend at the lodge. There is no rating scale to accurately capture our stay at the lodge. The atmosphere is so peaceful, friendly and accommodating. As if that wouldn't be enough, what made our trip was the staff. They quite literally became like family to us. Given the chaos of our current world, if you ever find that, you have found treasure. To illustrate, the owner actually carried our bags and snacks to the chalet and refused a tip. The chalet was precious in atmosphere and spot on as described. Each of us had a bed and a generous common space to "giggle," reminisce about our past antics and ponder the future. The kitchen was equipped with more "stuff" than we could have imagined or used. Additionally, the bathroom had an added bonus, a bathtub that was low enough for "age challenged" folks to easily access. Words fail us to express the grandeur of the view that greets you outside the Chalet's door. Truly, you are seated in the clouds with a vast expanse of beauty encased beneath a canopy of trees. Strategically placed chairs are positioned outside your door on a balcony to allow you to sip coffee and drink it "all" in. It's breathtaking! On site, there's a BBQ restaurant, Holy Smokes, with amazing food that is quite reasonably priced and homemade fudge. (My favorite was the birthday cake. )They also have affordable -shirts and other cute souvenirs for sale at a most competitive price point. It's a one stop getaway destination. After touring the area, eating at several places and visiting different stores, it was our unanimous conclusion that White Wolf Lodge is the best destination in Banner Elk!

THE VIEWS ARE AMAZING!
if you are looking for a place with a view - this is it!!! This cute 2-bedroom condo is all you need for a quick weekend away. We spent the majority of the time on the porch! One suggestion - the signal is spotty on the mountain and it was hard for me to reach the owner. Make sure you get the check-in info before you get on the mountain. Otherwise, no issues!

Loved it!
We rented chalet 1 & chalet 2 for a family Thanksgiving Vacation. Our extended family of 14 had a wonderful time! There was plenty of room for everyone, and having the adjoining rooms worked out perfectly! The property is located within close vacinity to attractions and stores. The views from the porch are amazing! You can view Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain, and Grandfather Mountain! We can't wait to visit again!

Beautiful mountain views, spectacular lodge
We stayed in Chalet 1 for a quick weekend summer vacation. The chalet is very clean and the decorations are lodge-like which was exactly what we wanted - bear print on the sofa, solid wood floors, and wood everywhere. There are 2 bedrooms - one is downstairs and the other is upstairs in the loft. There is also a pull out sofa in the loft and a pull out sofa in the living room so it is plenty of space for 6 people. My family of four slept in the loft and the grandparents slept downstairs. The views are absolutely breathtaking. We woke up the next morning and went downstairs to the shop and Larry was down there with his two dogs. The dogs are super friendly and clean; my kids really loved them. We bought t-shirts and fudge. This is the best fudge I have ever eaten (and I have eaten a lot of fudge in my 40+ years of life). We will definitely be back to visit! My only words of caution are - you will eat too much fudge if you visit this place and make sure you have your brakes serviced before your trip; this place is up quite high on Beech Mountain.

Just Wow!
We rented all three condos for our annual scouting ski trip. The accommodations were fantastic and clean! Laura and Larry are truly hospitality driven. The smiles on their faces are the proof. It is definitely your one stop shop! The lodge is convenient to most everything and the slopes are easy to get to via the shuttle bus that stops right out front of the lodge. We will go back!

Mountain Top Hospitality At Its Finest
My family and I had a wonderful stay here last night. Laura and Larry are so wonderful! It truly was hospitality at its finest. Our chalet was huge and more then enough for 4 people. The price was extremely fair for what looked one of their busiest times of the year. I was glad to see they are working on opening a restaurant soon and cant wait to go back and check that out. The gift / coffee shop was cool and the best part was Laura's homemade fudge! We tried probably 6 different flavors between the 4 of us and they were all amazing. My teenager even said it was the best fudge that she ever had! The best part of our stay was by far spending a little time with Laura and Larry. They are such an awesome couple and made us feel like we were honored guests in their own home. They even prayed for us before we left this afternoon. Can't wait to go back soon!

Excellent accommodations one of my favorite vacations!
Hi Larry and Laura! Thank you again for your amazing hospitality and kindness! I've told everyone about it today at school and as I wrap up work and am about to go home (yes, it's 10:17 P.M. but such is life for a Band Director). "I was looking for the perfect surprise getaway for my dear friend! I looked at websites that advertised individuals that rented their vacation homes and cabins, bed and breakfasts, and finally looked at the visitnc.com website. There I found Beech Mountain's Hike and Wine package! It looked perfect! All the goodies that came with it sounded amazing! So I started clicking through all of the places to stay and Beech Mountain truly did save the best for last! When I clicked on White Wolf Lodge, I knew that was the perfect place! I called and was able to get a Chalet for Labor Day weekend! What are the odds!!! Speaking to Laura on the phone made me realize I made the right choice! She was so kind, friendly, and helpful! When my friend and I finally got to Beech Mountain on Saturday, we were floored! Not only was the temperature PERFECT, but we seemed to be dropped in a town that was magical enough to be the setting for a Hallmark movie! In fact, we joked about that throughout the weekend. Larry, Laura, and their son were so amazing in getting us settled and were clearly so in love with all that Beech Mountain could offer visitors! In fact, each person that entered their gift shop, were made to feel like they were the most important person at that time. When others would have been caught up in the business, they were calm and sunny! They offered wonderful suggestions for us since we'd never been to the area! The chalet itself is perfect!!! Two of us stayed in the chalet and it was wonderful for us each to have our own sleeping area. The loft in which I slept was really cool! They had a very well stocked kitchen and cable TV which made it easy to hook up my laptop or Blu-Ray player to watch movies at night. The rocking chairs and picnic table outside gave way to a gorgeous view and we ate outside as well as inside! Many things are within walking distance from the White Wolf Lodge! The Mercantile is a fantastic place to gather things to cook a meal back at the chalet and there are several fantastic restaurants close by. It was hard NOT to find a smile in Beech Mountain! It was a perfect recharge and you bet I can't wait to come back! I might even learn how to ski so I can come back in the winter ;)"
