About this property

The Yellow Coconut is a beautiful East End hilltop home with spectacular views over the Caribbean Sea, Altona Lagoon & the North Shore. The home has been featured in Architectural Digest. The grounds of the house are well manicured, surrounded by beautiful bougainvilleas, large palm trees, aloe vera plants, and many other exotic flowering plants and trees. The property is very private, so you will feel it's just you and the island with not a care in the world!

Our Property Manager, Jamie Lammering, will greet you at the airport. Jamie is originally from the midwest and has been on St. Croix since 2005. She loves this sunny island as her home, and enjoys vacationers falling in love with the house, and the island. Once you've picked up your rental car, Jamie will escort you to The Yellow Coconut. The entrance has a spacious parking area and professionally landscaped walkway to the arched front door and side courtyard. When you open the front door, you will notice the breezeway leads you to the large, saline heated pool, as well as the master bedroom suite, and the remainder of the house. The pool is kept at a comfortable 86 degrees year round. There are NO STAIRS anywhere in the house, making it easy to wheel or carry your luggage to your room.

The master bedroom suite is separate from the remainder of the house. French doors from the master open to a lounge-bistro covered dining area overlooking the views and pool. The room is very spacious, with a brand new king bed, new nightstands, new fan and a new 40" mounted TV that you can move to your liking. The master has a bath/jacuzzi tub and a tiled two person shower. The bedroom also has a walk-in closet.

We have two guest bedrooms, both with queen beds, nightstands, fans and TVs. One of the guest bedrooms has it's own ensuite bathroom with a tiled two person shower. This bedroom also has it's own closet.

The large kitchen, living and dining areas are very open with many places to sit and relax. The kitchen also has bar seating for two. The living and dining areas have comfortable seating for eating, drinking, watching TV, or just socializing. This area includes 4 french doors that open to the heated pool, deck and the garden area.

When you're at The Yellow Coconut, outside in the pool and deck area is the place to be. There are 6 chaise lounge chairs with colorful pillows around the heated pool if you're looking to bask in the sun and enjoy the spectacular views. If you're looking to escape the sun for awhile, we also have covered outdoor seating outside the dining room and master suite with plenty of places to sit.

The Yellow Coconut is in an excellent location. We're located 2 miles or less from all of the following: Christiansted, beaches, snorkeling, diving, golfing, marina for boating/sailing, and many restaurants.

Incredible House!

We could not have loved this house more! We had the most amazing family vacation here. Beautiful view, spectacular pool, clean and spacious house. Property manager went above and beyond to make sure we were happy! Highly recommend!

The Yellow Coconut

We loved this property! The views were amazing. The pool was large and clean. We had perfect weather and spent most of our time in the outside spaces. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked most of our meals. We also used the grill. There were nice beach chairs that we took to the beach. The pool and beach towels were very nice. The beds all had amazing Casper mattresses. Jamie was great! She showed us the lay of the land and also answered our questions as needed. This is the best VRBO we have ever stay at. Wonderful Vacation Home

The Yellow Coconut was a beautiful place to stay. The location was in a quiet neighborhood and minutes from a grocery store. The house was lovely, inviting the outside in, the view overlooked the ocean, the heated pool made all the difference in a comfortable night swim, the beds were incredibly comfortable, the towels were luxurious. Jamie was quick to respond to any need. It quite simply was awesome!

Amazing!

This house was just as described! Very clean, had everything we needed and the best views! Jamie was amazing and very helpful. We spent our days lounging at the pool, taking a trip to buck island, hiking to the tide pools and kayaking in the bioluminescent bay. Couldn’t have asked for anything more!!

The Yellow Coconut

This was our third stay here. The location makes it easy to go anywhere on the island. The neighborhood is very quiet. The patio and pool are our favorite place to hangout because the view is mesmerizing! The house is spacious and comfortable and always pristinely clean. Property manager is attentive and friendly.

Perfect location, fantastic view, and great pool!!!

From the reservation being submitted to checkout, this rental sets the bar for VRBO reservations. Jamie, property manager, is the best we’ve come across in renting VRBOs for over a decade. Every detail is considered, and it made our experience that much more enjoyable. That being said, the property itself is fantastic. The saltwater pool is a really nice addition that takes this place up a notch. There are many great beaches nearby with the town just minutes away. The views are fantastic, and the kitchen is stocked enough with virtually everything you may need. L

Spectacular Home

We arrived between Christmas & New Years to spend a week with our college/just graduated kids. The house was perfect for our family of 4. Jamie, the manager, was VERY easy to work with. She was quick to respond prior to our arrival with details to help make our stay that much better. On our arrival day she met us at the house, gave us a tour, had a nice welcome set out for us with flowers & punch. The house was really well stocked with all our possible needs & then some. The pictures don't do the view justice and the pictures are great! Would absolutely return to the Yellow Coconut should we get back to St. Croix.

Spectacular View, Wonderful Stay!

Words cannot describe the home of owners of this home. It is absolutely perfect for a small family gathering. The views are amazing, the pool is perfect and the home so comfortable. The property host Jamie was delightful and checked in on us often and provided a ton of information and answered every question. The owners are lucky to have her as she is an asset for sure. Amazing home

We stayed here with our adult daughters for a week in the beginning of December. The house was everything promised and more! The location is minutes to town, but in a private neighborhood with stunning views. The property manager, Jamie, made us feel welcome before we even touched down in St. Croix. She is a treasure! A stay at the Yellow Coconut is a must for anyone visiting the island!

Piece of Heaven

Everything from booking to check out was impeccable. The gorgeous house, location, and island are truly heavenly. It was hard to leave the property every day and we looked forward to getting back for the evening. We took full advantage of the pool. The Yellow Coconut is fabulous!

Perfect location and wonderful villa!

We (me, my husband, our teenaged son, his friend, and my mother) stayed for a week in June. Beautiful home in a perfect location. It's close to East End destinations and to Christiansted, and only 35 minutes to Rainbow Beach. Communication with the hosts was seamless, and the property manager, Jamie, could answer any question we had and made sure our stay was perfect. She really goes above and beyond, and has extensive knowledge of the island. I was worried that the 2nd bathroom was connected to one of the two other (non-primary) bedrooms, but there is a separate entrance to the main living area. Meaning: nobody has to enter a bedroom to access that bathroom. The entire property was extremely clean. We didn't see an insect in the house all week, despite keeping the doors open every time we were "home" in order to enjoy the breeze. That's really saying something for this part of the world! The pool is large for a private home and we enjoyed it very much. We would definitely stay here again as a family. It was our fifth time on St. Croix and Yellow Coconut has been our favorite rental so far. Thanks, Brian, Denyse, and Jamie!

Peaceful

The owners are so wonderful to work with and Jamie is the best!! She kept us informed and made sure all needs were met. We were welcomed with rum punch on our first day. The house was absolutely beautiful and great location for the east end. My granddaughter who is five was able to enjoy the pool and I was able to relax looking at a beautiful view. It made leaving the house hard to head to the beach! They provided beach and pool towels, beach chairs for when you do take those trips to the beach. The process of washing off salt and sand was easy with the garden hose that was easily accessible. This home is VERY well equipped with everything you need for your vacation. If you are looking to relax in a great house this is the place and I can’t wait to come back!!

Simply the best

My partner and I stayed at the Yellow Coconut last year and had the best time. The house is perfect. The location is perfect. Brian and Denise are perfect. And Jamie is perfect. We were itching to get back again this year, and thankfully, we did. And this trip was just as sublime, thanks to the Yellow Coconut and all the care and effort that Brian, Denise, and Jamie clearly put into it. It really is as good as it gets, if not better. Don’t pass up an opportunity to stay in this gem, or we’ll slide in again for a third stay ;)

Great stay and location

House was great, location was terrific. Close to Christiansted and far enough away for privacy. Jamie the manager was great and responsive to questions and offered us different tips/ideas through out the week and a lovely parting gift. The view was incredible! Beautiful sunsets nightly. Pool was warm and nice. The house was extremely well equipped. We rent houses on most of our vacations and this one was the best equipped yet! Great stay, will rent again when returning.

Totally worth it!

This house is awesome. The view and pool are absolutely amazing! Communication with the owners and the manager, Jamie couldn't have been better, very responsive, had great suggestions, helpful when our flight was canceled, allowed late check out since they didn't have anyone coming the next day. Beautiful property, nice touch with the details such as plenty of beach towels and sunscreen and bug spray, Yeti coolers which were great for day trip to buck island and Fredrickstead, very comfortable beds and pillows, fully stocked kitchen Books they've created with nice suggestions and summaries. Two small things I would suggest, the iguana was a pain swimming in the pool and they stink. I don't know if they can be relocated? I know that's a tough one that's kind of out of your control. Thanks for being cool about us breaking the skimmer trying to get him out. Also, I would get more comfortable furniture for the living room, chairs and couch very stiff, but we really never wanted to be inside with such a fantastic outside.

Absolutely stunning

I have never stayed in a home as perfect as this. The gorgeous photos in the listing do not do this property justice. Everything from the view to the home itself is absolutely immaculate. You could stare at the view for hours and it will never get old. The cross breeze with all the doors opened is just so relaxing and magical. The house is stocked with everything you could possibly need...platters, utensils, cookingware, two grills, endless towels, beach chairs, snorkel gear, coolers... seriously everything you need for your vacation. Location is perfect as well. Easy 10 minute drive to Christianstead and 30 minutes to Frederiksted. The most amazing addition to the home was the house manager, Jamie. She met us at the home and walked us around the property, and made a point to stop by to say goodbye when we left. She checked in on us when a big storm rolled through, and responded right away with any questions we had during our stay. She has created the most informative guides for the beaches, restaurants and activities and all of her recommendations were fabulous! Jamie genuinely loves the Yellow Coconut and St. Croix and it makes the stay so much more enjoyable. You feel so welcomed; it was hard to leave!

Amazing place

This property made me a lover of St. Croix. Had never been before and it is not my favorite place in the Caribbean. This property is a big part, in the most beautiful part of the island and Jamie the property manager made sure we had everything we might want. The property is amazing, loved the pool, loved the mater separated from the main hour. Thanks so much for the use of your property - we will be back

Happy place on the hill

Always an amazing time! The house is a great place to unwind and relax. We spent several days enjoying the deck and the pool with beautiful views of the lagoon and sea. Serene stay

This home is very private and in a serene neighborhood but conveniently located to Christiansted. Beautiful view and lots of comfortable outdoor seating to enjoy it from. Heated pool is awesome! Home is clean and comfortable.

Our favorite place on the island!

The location is convenient to all of the things we enjoy doing most on the island. The Yellow Coconut has a well equipped kitchen. The layout is outstanding for our family, and the outside space has so many nooks and crannies for reading a book, cuddling up under the stars, and the lighted swimming pool is spectacular in the evening. We so appreciate this house, Jamie the house manager, and the owners. Stellar property!

Wonderful stay

This property is so charming and comfortable. The view from the deck is just spectacular and we spent many hours relaxing on the loungers admiring it. The furniture was clean and comfortable as was our bed in the master. Everything was in working order and well stocked. We had pool floats, towels, beach chairs etc. The owners were very gracious and worked with us to reschedule our stay when covid threw a wrench in our plans. Jaime, the property manager, was a delight and eager to make sure that we had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. It was just wonderful and I wish I was still there!

We have been together for 23 years. We grew up in Kit Carson, CO, a town of 300 people. Brian's high school graduating class was 8, Denyse's was 14. We both are college educated, and we currently own a small business in Boulder, CO. We have 2 dogs, love the outdoors, sports, sun, sand and the beach! We visited St. Croix in 2005, and absolutely fell in love with the island. We decided then we would retire there someday. We've planned and saved to someday buy a home on the island. We finally put our plan into motion in 2015.

Why they chose this property

The property is special to us because this is the first step of realizing a dream to retire in St. Croix. Even though the house is used as a vacation rental home, this home is so beautiful that it is a house we will eventually retire to.

What makes this property unique

The home is a ranch style, with the entire home designed around the hilltop views and easterly trade breezes. You have direct access to the salt water pool from the master bedroom and the living room. The house was designed to enjoy the views in or out of the sun, with an electronic awning providing shade for the whole day.
