Very nice property. Host was amazing. Breakfast was awesome. Very convenient to stay there and go hiking at a Ricketts Glen. Am definitely going back next year.
This is one of the best Bed and Breakfast we have stayed in. From the moment we walked in with a greeting to the relaxing nights by a fire. The hosts were very personable and accommodating. Breakfast each morning was delicious. The cottage and surroundings were beautiful. So many little touches made it a very enjoyable stay.
We had the most wonderful time staying here at Cottage in the Woods! This charming bed and breakfast was absolutely delightful and lovely in every way. The hosts are so warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The setting was peaceful, breakfast was delicious, and it has great proximity to Ricketts Glen parking areas. Cottage in the Woods was the perfect retreat after a day of hiking the stunning waterfall trails. We will surely stay here again in the future!
Our host were welcoming, super nice, and very friendly. We had an amazing stay. Their cottage is cozy and beautiful. We will return in the near future to stay with them and hike the area again.
Lovely accommodations.
Even more lovely hosts. Thank you Dave and Claytonna!
Felt a bit like visiting family.
Warm, cozy, and great breakfasts!
It finally got cool enough for the "outside" fire.
It all was splendid ...
The location is fabulous, room was nice. Well decorated and pretty plants outside. The breakfast was very disappointing. Tough pancakes, bland cold scrambled eggs, watered down coffee, mostly mushy fruit, undercooked bacon. It was our first time at a B&B and really was looking forward to the breakfast, heard that’s what B&B are known for and the pics of the food on the website looked amazing.
Mark and I really enjoyed our stay. Very accommodating and always had breakfast ready for you. I would stay here again. The treehouse looked like a winner for next stay😎
Claytonna and Dave were amazing hosts and their home was warm and cozy. The property was clean and inviting and minutes away from nice little restaurants and an amazing State Park
Perfect spot if you're interested in hiking and exploring the amazing Ricketts Glenn State Park! Hosts are also very knowledgeable about many other points of interest such as wineries and restaurants.
Claytonna's place is perfectly located, just a short drive to the park's trailhead. The room was cozy, clean, and quiet. THe breakfast in the morning was so delicious and perfect for a day of hiking!
This place is an absolute charm. Claytonna and Dave were so easy to click with and welcomed us with a lovely 1 night retreat. I took my wife to Rickett's Glen Falls for her Birthday and this place is very close by, which made it easy to do 2 days of the trails( thanks to Dave's recommendation on the 2nd day) and see a good portion of the gorgeous scenery up there. Now let's get to the welcoming party. Lexi greeted us in the best way an adorable doggie could. Zayne the cat was right around the corner looking to welcome us as well. This cat really acted like a dog which was entertaining. We met our hosts, got to our room which was spacious and very organized. We had a fire going at night and some good conversation between us and the guests in the other retreats. There is a tree house there. I would definitely do that if we get back there again. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic with fresh fruits, OJ, and a very hearty breakfast. We loved this B&B. It deserves all the great reviews it gets! Another thing...look at the stars at night if you catch a clear one there. the views are out of this world literally. Thank you for having us again!
