Everything overall was ok, with the exception of a couple things… the hide-a-bed needs a clean new mattress or needs to be professionally cleaned. It was filthy when we pulled it out to the point where we had to put 2 layers of sheets on it for the kids to feel like it was “clean” enough to use it - it’s so remote that there is no where to run purchase an air mattress or we would have. The second thing was the pathways to both doors were laid out amidst a thick bed of ivy & with it being Spring time and snake season, those should’ve been trimmed back much more than they were. The amenities were great and overall, it was a good stay for our group.
This was our second time staying here for Thanksgiving. We LOVE this cabin so much. It is like stepping out of our home in KC and into our home in Canton. You will not want for anything staying here. The cabin is exceptionally clean and well maintained. Kitchen is stocked with all the cookware you could need. The cabin is a nice, quiet retreat in the woods, but close to town with easy access to Canton, Madison, and Jackson. Check in/out is easy and clear, and Eva responds practically immediately if you need anything (we didn't). We will absolutely be back again! THANK YOU for another wonderful trip!!!!
This was the perfect place to escape hustle and bustle and enjoy some quiet. Our favorite part was sitting on the back porch overlooking the pond and reading. The house was well stocked. It was a great place for our family!
This place was a GREAT place of respite for our family. We were here for bereavement and the peacefulness of the property was just what we needed. Thank you
This cabin retreat helped our whole family to disconnect from the busy chaotic world and just connect with one another. The property was beautiful and tranquil inside and out. The decor of the property made you feel at home and so cozy. Everything was considered as there wall essentials were provided from TP to snacks. The DVD collection was a great touch as watching a good movie is a wonderful bonding experience. Wish we could have stayed longer.
We so enjoyed the peaceful, quiet retreat the cabin provided. The cabin has all standard amenities and a lovely screened in porch where we spent most of our time. We are eager for the opportunity to visit again.
The property was amazing! The house/cabin was extremely neat & clean, kitchen was nice, charcoal grill was right up our alley. The property is out,in what seems to be in the middle of nowhere, very tastefully decorated and furnished. Even though it has at least one MS State article someone from Ole Miss would be very satisfied with this property.
Highest of recommendations.
This cabin and property provide a perfect location to unplug. The cabin is furnished with quality furniture and tasteful accents. There are several comfortable sitting areas, both inside and outside. We especially loved sitting on the deck listening to the birds and relaxing on the screened-in porch under the ceiling fan. I hope to return.
Wonderful cabin tucked away for a quiet, peaceful retreat from the business of everyday life. We thoroughly enjoyed our short weekend trip here, surrounded by beautiful trees, a stunning pond and lots of bird watching. The cabin itself was well equipped and offered a screened patio as well as an outdoor back deck overlooking the pond. Great place to “unplug” and appreciate the beauty of the property and nature itself!
We loved the cozy and comfortable ambiance of the home in the woods...it had everything we needed! We attended a wedding in Canton Square and being able to "come home" to this place made the stay memorable.... very quiet, beautiful surroundings plus there were ducks and deer on the property.... we loved it!
The house was very comfortable, absolutely enjoyed being away from the city and sitting on the back porch. There was everything we could have asked for to make our stay easy.
We rented this house for a week to spend Thanksgiving with my husband's family. My family (me, husband, teenage son) and my Dad and his girlfriend stayed. There was more than enough room for all of us. Towels and blankets galore. Wonderfully stocked kitchen. This house far exceeded our expectations. The screened in porch and HUGE deck overlooking the pond were favorite spots. We were spoiled with beautiful weather, though when the rain cooled things down the gas fireplace warmed things right up. The house is in the country, but a quick drive to Canton, Madison, Jackson, and the reservoir. It was a treat to wake up to the views every morning. You will not be disappointed in any way, and we are already planning a trip back.
This cabin could not be more perfect. It gives the illusion that you are far out, but really you are just 20 minutes from anything. The cabin is spotless & well stocked. The beds are extremely comfortable and the setting is beyond relaxing. Hated to leave!
This is the perfect place if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful location with a gorgeous view. The large deck overlooking a small pond was perfect for morning coffee and family time. The cabin was the perfect size for 6 adults. The beds were comfortable and the home has a wonderful old home vibe with all of the modern necessities. I definitely recommend if you are looking for a place to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle.
The house was wonderful…very clean and comfortable. The screen porch was where we spent most of our time. It’s a little off the beaten path but so worth it once you’re there!
If you want to book this cabin at the perfect time, come in late April. The days will be cool enough to comfortably hike the Natchez Trace Trails, the red lilies scattered all around the property will be at their peak, mornings on the screen porch (my absolute favorite spot) will be mild and breezy and bursting with bird songs, and you may even need the gas log fire place for a night or two.
This cabin is aptly called a retreat because you will drive on some little, out-of-the-way country roads to get there, and you’ll be unplugged from wifi the whole time—but everywhere you look, both inside and outside, you’ll see beauty; you’ll enjoy the well-stocked, modern kitchen and the skylights over the dining area; and if you’re a reader you will be IMPRESSED with the thoughtful selection of books on the bookshelves and delighted with all the perfect spots to cuddle up with a book. We really hated to say goodbye.
If you are using Google maps to get there, please note that their very last direction has the cabin on the wrong side of the road—and there is a driveway over there, but it leads nowhere. You will know you’ve found the right entrance when you immediately come through a wide, iron gate (pictured) and see a grassy, landscaped lawn. Also, the mailbox is on the same side of the road as the cabin.
