Many family members planned to attend a wedding in McKinney, so the idea of a lot of us being able to stay together was appealing, especially since we don't see each other all that often. A house suitable for a large gathering seemed appropriate, so this house, for ten, looked about right. Unfortunately, those ten have to be close enough to each other to sleep together, and not all our family is, so the house really accommodates comfortably only about eight sleepers. And, for those who stay upstairs, the bathing part of the bathroom wasn't very useful for those accustomed to showering. And, yes, I realize that was acknowledged on the web site. According to one who slept there, the upstairs carpet could use a cleaning.
So, we had eight people, but we couldn't all eat together because there are only six dining room chairs--another web site claim. And that many people sharing a single shower made for some interesting schedules.
All that said, we were able to enjoy the very comfortable front room for stop-over visits by other family members. The kitchen facilities were adequate and sufficient for our needs, except that--minor detail--it's a good thing we didn't all drink coffee as there weren't enough cups to go around, and we also ran out of paper products. Bedrooms need some side tables and a chair or two for comfort--just some homey touches. A concern was parking, but since we were there during a holiday weekend, no one complained.
The house is centrally located, so it was easy to find and to drive to. It's also in a working-class neighborhood, no nearby grocery stores or restaurants to walk to, but that was not a problem for us.
While I realize that an owner has an investment to protect, the rental process as well as the list of do's and don't's was a little intimidating. I fully expected to be hit with an additional charge for failing one of the many, and detailed, departure expectations. Other VRBO experiences have not been nearly as restrictive.
Because of the per person price, the location, the number of family who slept there and who gathered there, I would rent it again. The positives outweigh the negatives.
