About this property

H3B is a comfortable rustic vacation home with 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths that is sure to accommodate everyone. The property is secluded in a wooded area with a beautiful elevated view of Big Green Lake's west end. It has a large front yard for yard games or just hanging out. The home was built as a rental vacation home in 1925. When the "House of Three Bears" camp was open it was used as a girl’s dormitory. You have your own private pier, swimming area and boat lift (boat lift 4000lb max for regular hull, pontoon and tritoon). It is super pet friendly and has its own doggie wash station.

Rustic and quaint combined with comfort in a beautiful setting

Three of us (originally four but one cancelled at the last minute) 70+ year-olds guys back for our Ripon College 50th reunion in a rustic but very functional house which can hold up to 3 couples in separate bedrooms and four children in a bunk room. (If the 4th guy had come I would have slept in the bunk room. Plenty of room there.) The house sits high on a hill above Green Lake with a staircase down to a private pier where one can dangle a fishing line or tie up your boat. The Owners, Sheila and Dan Smith were excellent hosts who live next door but are unobtrusive and very helpful when needed. The setting was magic for us city dwellers at the end of a private road. Don't expect modern bathrooms or 5 star hotel-like luxury but everything works and, in a word, it was delightful.

Great Getaway

We had a fantastic stay at the H3B. The cabin was clean and well stocked. There was plenty of space for our 8 adults and 2 dogs. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the views from the covered gazebo, fishing off of the pier, or sitting around the firepit. The dogs loved exploring the large yard and jumping off of the pier into the lake. Sheila and Dan were wonderful hosts. We will be back!

Delightful Green Lake Vacation

We could not have been happier with our stay at House of Three Bears. The setting is spectacular with a beautiful view over the lake. The cabin is really more than a cabin, it felt very spacious and airy. The building itself is simply charming. Sheila was a marvelous hostess. There was absolutely nothing we needed during our stay. We will be back again for sure.

Wonderful !!!

We had another wonderful stay at The House of The Three Bears! This is our third year staying here and we have had an excellent stay each time. The cabin is perfectly located with lake front access but also ample yard space, perfect for kids to play. There is plenty of space to house our boat trailor and pickup truck. The cabin itself is cozy and well kept. It is an easy drive into Green Lake which is a charming town. We hope to continue to return in years to come and highly recommend this property!

Lakefront "cabin in the woods"

Wonderful place! A rustic "old school" cabin made modern. Great lakefront location, wonderful deck on bluff overlooking the lake, grilling and campfire pit very nice, plenty of firewood adjacent. Very roomy, had a perfect week!

H3B Family Trip

The House of Three Bears was exactly as expected. Plenty of room to roam, comfortable living space, big kitchen, ample parking, play games outside, swim off the dock, and park our Tri-toon boat! Sheila, Dan and their son Adam were super helpful throughout our stay and made things very comfortable for our family of nine. Definitely would go back and make it an annual gathering place.

Awesome Retreat!

What a perfect place for a family! Quiet mornings, cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed, host was close by for any questions we had and things we might have needed. The property had a lovely gazebo with a nice view of the lake, fire pit and lots of lounge chairs to use. Has a long flight of stairs leading down to the pier, but has railing on two sides and a gate at the top to lock to keep kids and dogs from going down without permission. We will definitely go back next year!

Hidden Gem on Green Lake!!

We had a wonderful stay at the Three Bears Cabin. Property photos don’t do it justice. Outdoor seatings areas were the best ever, loved the covered deck looking out onto the lake. The boat lift and dock was great to have, kitchen had everything you needed. Hope to return next year!! Thanks to the host for letting us stay

Best time at the House of Three Bears

The property is better than the photos show and the owners are terrific. We made use of the dock for boat rental and kayaking, the view overlooking the lake is wonderful in the daytime and at night. The fire pit was the highlight of our evenings. I hope we can enjoy this property again next season!

Best vacation experience!!

We were so lucky to find this hidden gem in Green Lake WI for our family reunion! The description does not do justice to how beautiful and clean this place is. We had members ranging from 16-81 yrs and we all found something to do. It has great walking trails near by , family restaurants and of course the lake. We enjoyed our morning coffee by the lake and sat by the fire at night. We enjoyed many water activities like swimming in the lake, kayaking and paddle boarding. Rooms were rustic but very clean and with all the necessary amenities. Sheila was a great hostess. It was a perfect location for our gathering and will definitely visit again!

Great place to gather

We used this property for a group of guests for my son’s wedding. Love the 2 big fridges! Loved the big open yard! We forgot a few things and had a few questions and Dan and Sheila were right there to assist us. Good parking also for several cars!

cozy retreat with a view

This house has a wonderful view of sunrise on Green Lake, and plenty of bedrooms for a large group. There was plenty of outdoor seating for everyone, and nice trees to cover it all. Everything you need in a rustic lake house cabin! The swimming was also excellent (though a bit cold in the beginning of June, as one would expect). Having a boat lift was a really nice plus. The hosts live nearby and were very prompt and welcoming.

Great Place, Beautiful View

We rented the place for an annual friends getaway and it was everything we were looking for. The place is spacious, clean, and has a gorgeous view of Green Lake. The fire pit area is perfect for hanging out under the moon light while appreciating the view. We loved the pet washing station too, great amenity.

Fun summer retreat

My family thoroughly enjoyed our time at Three Bears. The property is the perfect blend of a rustic cabin with with modern amenities making it extremely comfortable. The perched view of the lake offers breathing taking sunsets. We took advantage of the boat lift and also swam and fished from the dock daily. Sheila was a wonderful host and offered us various toys for the kids to enjoy in the front yard. We will definitely visit again

Great visit to House of Three Bears

We had a great stay at The House of Three Bears. It was the perfect size for the 6 of us and when we hosted a family reunion. A rustic cabin with lots of room, air conditioning units, two refrigerators, and more. The view from the bluff is amazing and all of the outdoor seating makes it easy to enjoy the scenery. Another hot item was the tire swing! Sheila and Dan and their adorable dog were such gracious and attentive hosts ready to help whenever we needed.

Great family getaway

Our family of five really enjoyed our stay. The rustic-style cabin was comfy and quiet and has a great semi-wooded yard overlooking the lake for dining and games. We enjoyed swimming at the property and also its convenient location for reaching town and beaches in the area.

House of Three Bears is a family run vacation home. I am a recently retired elementary school teacher. My husband Dan and I spend our summers at the House of Three bears property in our personal cabin while renting out the second. We look forward to meeting you and doing whatever possible to make your stay as enjoyable as we can!

Why they chose this property

This property has been in our family for 5 generations. It was once the location of the famous House of Three Bears children camp back in the 1940's and 50's. We have held onto this amazing place and enjoy sharing it with vacationers to the area. Its rustic but modern comforts makes for a great place to stay with your family and friends. This is our only rental so we can offer extremely personal service to our visitors. Cant wait to see you!

One can enjoy an evening fire in the fire pit with the provided fire-wood, and coffee in the morning overlooking an amazing view of the lake. The cabin is homey, rustic, and pet friendly. It has 4 bedrooms with 2 full baths. There are two full size refrigerators to provide plenty of room for both food and beverages.
