Amish Country Barndominium
Only 1 mile out but away from the hustle and bustle!
We are conveniently located to all of Holmes County and Amish Country. We are just one mile from Berlin, 4 miles from Charm, and 6 miles from Mt Hope. Location is perfect for a quiet country stay yet close to Amish and English villages. Our barndo is 1800 sf, that has all the modern conveniences and comforts. It features comfortable "shabby chic" decor set on an open floor plan. There is a full kitchen, washer and dryer, baby grand piano, a large covered patio with fireplace and front porch with swing and rockers. We are minutes from plenty of things Amish. Our listing states it sleeps six people but lots of guests use our comfy air mattress to add sleeping for additional guests. While relaxing at the barn you will hear the sound of the buggys and horses as our Amish neighbors go about their daily routines. The sites and sounds of Amish country cant get any better than this! Guest traveling with pets are asked to let us know how many and breed. Pet fees are $15 a day per pet. Please let me know in a message if you have pets. Those fees are paid property.

The “Barndominium” experience was special! 1 mile from downtown, Berlin yet on a large farm…everything we have grown to expect from our VBRO experiences down to such unique details! We enjoyed it very much!
Loved the openness. Big and roomy. Would be wonderful in warmer weather with fire pit and patio. Definitely will come again and recommend to everyone. Did have to get use to the well water
We knew from the listing it would be unique 😉 It was enjoyable. The property was awesome for our dog to get
out and run.

The refurbished barn was fun to stay in. Tons of room and near to attractions. The road was very busy with big trucks driving by so it was noisy, but we enjoyed the stay.
This is a rustic barn with a wide open floor plan. We had dogs and the property was really nice for them. The bed was comfortable. The host responds quickly and checks in by text to see if you need anything or have any questions. It is located just outside Berlin and less than a mile from Hershbergers. Just off rt. 39. We will definitely stay there again.
Excellent and easy check in process. Host met us immediately with basic instructions.
Very unique and quaint place to stay in the heart of Amish country. Light switches were difficult to locate , we would recommend notations within the dwelling on how to find them all. Coffee pot needs attention, it was not useable during our stay although all necessary supplies were available.
It was as advertised. It is a converted garage with a cement floor covered with throw rugs. It was pretty cold when we got there and took some time to warm up. The chairs and tables were comfortable. There were games so we had a pleasant evening with our family.

Good property for several people to stay. Everything you need in the kitchen, and two beds plus futon. My only real complaint is it was a bit musty, smell like an antique store with some very old books. But I will say once we were able to open the door, we were able to get rid of some of the musty smell. The room is a great location to Berlin, and i would recommend with the same information. Great place for the pets, we have one service dog and one pet and they both enjoy the yard, but it isn’t fenced completely-fence is there but easy for them to escape -
When we arrived there was a $15 a day fee in excess for having our dogs at the property which was fine, however there were not exact instructions for how to pay in any way that is necessarily VRBO friendly present. Additionally, the welcome letter and pet letter we were forced to sign should have been published at minimum at the one-week email one receives. It should be mentioned that this property while it
As usual everything was great! Tim and Suzanne are the best! I recommend if in the area and need a place to stay give them a call you won’t be disappointed! Thank you Suzanne and Tim for another good stay!
We are a group of teachers enjoying Spring Break. Some of is have never been to Amish County. The location of the Barn was perfect so we could hit many attractions! We hope to come back next year.
We had a great stay and loved that the property is dog friendly! The hosts were very responsive when we arrived and we couldn't connect to the internet. We found ourselves shopping less than normal so we could return and hang out at the barn. The 4 super comfortable recliners were also a great surprise and perfect for conversations over coffee. We will be back!
This is really great place to stay! Host was very friendly and accessible if needed! The place was big and very home feeling! This was so awesome that we have already booked for memorial day weekend! Can’t wait to go back! So relaxing! Thank you Suzanne and Tim it was awesome!
We loved it and can’t wait to go back! It is very close to lots of attractions making it easy to stop and drop things off (or pick up needed items!). Our girls (16 mo and 4 yrs) love the outdoor space and the added little touches inside that made it more kid friendly! My husband and I enjoyed sitting outside in the evenings with our favorite beverage-so peaceful!
Some things to keep in mind-
-it is concrete floors but they have lots of cozy rugs throughout and flooring in the bathroom and bedrooms.
-the water is very “hard” which my oldest didn’t like when brushing teeth. My husband and I noticed it in the shower but we grew up with similar water and understand how difficult it is to treat and know this is likely the same water other properties have. But just a heads up.
-traffic can be heard in the front room of the barn which was difficult for our oldest to sleep thru. Next time my hubby and I will sleep there to solve that problem!
The hosts are wonderful! Overall our stay was wonderful as well and we are excited to go back!
We had a very quite comfortable stay at this property! Easy check in and out, perfect location, email contact was responded to in a timely manner. Felt very at home away from home and since we could bring out fur babies this was an ideal property. Would definitely stay here again hopefully this fall!
We were at the property in January 2020. I chose this location, which is by a major highway, in case there was a lot of snow. The downside is, of course, road noise, which was most noticeable in the bedroom. Otherwise, the place is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well-supplied for cooking meals. It is one of only a few properties that accepts dogs in this area and the rates are quite reasonable. We enjoyed our time here!
My husband and I spent a few nights at this property in November. We had a very pleasant stay. Although it’s advertised as a converted barn, it doesn’t have the feel of a traditional older barn converted to lodgings. It appears to be a metal building that was originally used for some commercial purpose and then was converted in to a dwelling. That said, the concrete floors, cozy gas fireplace, commercial heater on the ceiling and stainless commercial kitchen pieces mixed with the rustic decor gave the place just the right industrial/country feel for us. Although near the intersection of two roads, we weren’t bothered by road noise. The heater is a bit louder than you might expect, but was not a problem for us. The back and front porches looked charming with white string lights lit up at night, but we did not use the outside areas as it was quite cold during our stay. We had an issue with the cable TV, but the owner called immediately and helped us to get it working. It was quite cold in the unit when we arrived (temps in the 50s) and took a little while to get the place warmed up. The second bedroom is not entirely private as it has been carved out of the main living area by creating walls using old doors. It looks cool but would not offer complete privacy-again not a problem for us, but could be a consideration depending on your traveling companions. We had our 14 ft cargo trailer with us and had plenty of room to park it outside of the unit. Overall, we had a very nice stay and would return to the converted barn in the future.
