Awesome stay

Peace and quiet to the max. Kids had a blast and found a shed set from a huge 8 point buck. Second stay here so far and will try to make this place a regular getaway.

Family Getaway

We visited this cabin in February and our now 3 year old still talks about it! It was a beautiful setting for our family to have a relaxing getaway in the country. We saw deer and we walked around the property, we can't wait to visit again. Thank you so much for having us!!

So peaceful

This is the best place to just get away in the middle of no where. The cabin was so precious and perfect for my husband and I. We really enjoyed our time and the amazing views and wildlife we got to see. We will definitely be back in the future!

Amazing Getaway!

We had a blast out here! The property is beautiful and full of wildlife. There’s a swimming hole that was set up with a pop up tent and chairs to use; they even had pool noodles! Such a fantastic gem tucked away out here. We feel so refreshed and celebrated my husband’s birthday recharging in nature.

Perfect retreat

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was completely private, peaceful and refreshing. Even in the summer heat, the mornings and evenings were perfect to sit outside and enjoy. There is a swimming hole which looked great, but we didn’t actually get in. We saw birds, deer, wild hogs and a fox from the back porch. Dinner and groceries are about 20-30 minutes away. Easy drive into town. The cabin was very clean and really cute. Perfect for a couple or a family with small children. Loved it!!!

Third stay and it keeps getting better

A group of friends stayed to celebrate my birthday for the weekend and had an amazing time swimming and enjoying the quiet nature. This is the third time staying at this location and its one of my most favorite getaways in Texas.

Cutie Cabin on the Creek

This was a great getaway for our family. The cabin had everything we needed and provided some much needed quiet with plenty of activities to keep the whole family busy. We hiked, fished, swam, and explored nearby Junction.

Amazing Cabin, Wonderful Hosts

Amazing stay here! Very remote in the best possible way. Swimming hole was tons of fun. Saw lots of wildlife, especially hummingbirds. We have three small kids and they had a blast. Cabin was extremely clean and well cared for. The vintage stove/oven was so fun! But gotta say, the biggest plus was how great the hosts were! When we went to leave at the end of our stay, our van would not start. Contacted Darla and she said Russell would be there as soon as possible. Russell came out and spent over an hour with us trying to get the van started. He even called around town to see if he could find a mechanic who would open up for us on a Sunday to help. Though we didn't have luck in that regard, we were able to finally get the van started. Absolutely would recommend this place!

Amazing Stay!

This cabin is everything we needed to have a weekend to just unplug! Although Junction isn’t far, it’s truly in a remote area to enjoy nature, fish or splash in the water, and just exist. While the weather was hot, the cabin stayed cool. Nights are something else—be prepared to see every star, watch lightening bugs, and be just a spec in the universe. Owner was super helpful/communicative. Since it’s on its own septic, showers have to be short. Already planning our next trip out there!

Perfect spring break trip

We were two adults and three 9-10 year old kids. The place was unbelievable. We will definitely be back before everyone gets too big. Setting was almost like a postcard. Pictures don’t do it justice. I recommend spring or fall, so you can spend plenty of time walking around and taking in the views or sitting outside in nice weather. Not sure if we would have appreciated the scenery as much if it was hot/cold and we needed to be inside. On one of the warmest day, the kids splashed around in the swimming hole. We had axis and white-tailed deer at house and what looked like 2 wild sheep walking on the road. Saw blackbuck at the adjoining high-fence. Owner answers questions quickly and shared some of the great history of the land. It’s a beautiful place. Highly recommend. I will say that the lofts are meant for the young or nimble. Luckily we had the right mix. If we get a couple of years older or lbs heavier, my brother and I will either be cuddling in downstairs bed or one on the couch. (Couch would be perfectly fine as it’s plenty big enough and comfortable). If you are on the fence, don’t hesitate. Great place.

Awesome

Everything from the rustic, charming cabin to the swimming hole were amazing. The peacefulness of the property was just what our family needed to escape the hustle and bustle of our busy schedules. The hummingbirds truly had our entire family captivated. Excellent place to just get away from it all and allow the kids to be kids!

Awesome Seclusion

We came because I didn't want to plan a typical bachelor party. I wanted us all to have fun without roaming a downtown setting. Between the swimming, fire pit, seclusion, and sights, this was a perfect trip.

Immerse yourself in nature

The property was as described. Our family -including our two dogs- enjoyed our stay immensely. Waking up to hummingbirds, deer, turkeys and various other wildlife was just amazing. The cabin was very clean and cozy. Swimming in the spring fed swimming hole, fishing and enjoying the stars (this area is considered a dark sky area) and just spending time outside immersed in nature kept us busy and happy. Would definitely come back here and have already recommended this incredible property to family and friends.

Awesome Cabin. Great vacation!

If you want to get away from everything, this is the place! The cabin is perfect, with all its vintage decor & cute furnishings. And that awesome Frigidaire Flair stove!!! I am determined to get one for myself. I can’t rave enough about the experience of seeing wildlife every day - deer, axis deer, turkeys, goats, pigs, donkeys and so many different birds. The swimming hole behind the dam is a treasure! Water was a little chilly but are coming back in June so it will be perfect by then. It is evident that Darla & Russell have taken great care in every detail. We hiked around the property several days, grilled out almost every evening, sat on the porch enjoying adult beverages & just listening to the sounds of nature. Then we retired to comfortable beds, anticipating doing the same things the next day. The cabin & property had everything we needed for one of the best vacations ever. This is one place we want to return to year after year (probably several times per year!) and I highly recommend it. Darla was prompt & responsive to all our questions & is such a gracious lady! We appreciate our welcome to share their hidden gem!
