Nice Place to Stay

We had a great time and enjoyed our stay. The deck outside was wonderful and we appreciated the king size bed and large bathroom. Our room had a coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven, small fridge, and a television. Our needs were fully met and the location was great!

Amazing!

We had an absolutely wonderful 3 day getaway on Plum Island. We could easily access everything by bike and the suite is beautiful with a great small kitchen setup and lovely bathroom. Thanks for everything!

Attractive venue

The unit with its 2nd floor deck was very attractive. The management was very responsive at all hours! Small ways to improve the venue: add a wastebasket to the bedroom, hangers for the coat rack, remove mirrored room divider to make room for an armoire (and remove coat rack), add another light or two to bedroom (maybe just above headboard for reading in bed), add nightlight to bathroom, unclog sink closest to the bedroom, have housekeeping wash dishes (the mugs were all wet - guests can't be counted on to wash dishes), reduce all the various fees - $100 for one bedroom and bath is outrageously expensive - charge for a much larger venue last summer was $35!

After spending 3 nights at Luney Dunes, we felt that the description in the listing was misrepresented and inflated. For example: "As you awaken in Luney Dunes Penthouse, you're surrounded by expansive water views. The only water views you see are between the waterfront houses that obstruct your view. Watch the eagles soar, the boats cruise, and the sun rise from your luxurious king sized bed. Then, you arise and make a lovely cup of coffee and sip it on your private deck. Ah yes! The sounds of the sea! We didn’t see any eagles, just sea gulls and there were no sounds of the sea because the Penthouse is located adjacent to a bay. Kitchenette - Kitchenette furnished with dining accouterments and small appliances - Microwave, mini-fridge, and Keurig coffee maker This Kitchenette was about as minimal as we have ever seen on a vacation rental. It had the 3 appliances noted above, 4 coffee cups, 4 glasses and a plastic baggie with some mixed silver ware. There are no bowls or plates and no sink so when you use the coffee cups and glasses you have to wash them in one of the bathroom sinks. There was no closet where we could hang our clothes up. There was a coat tree that was loose from it’s base. I had to tighten it with my fingers to use it. The Penthouse had two doors connected to the main house and we could hear talking and barking from a large dog and did not feel privacy. We were unable to fulfill our expectations and would not recommend this rental.

Nice Place

Communication with property manager could have been better - some type of of welcome info would have been helpful, i.e.. beach access, instructions as to 3 TV remotes, request for dish soap and a couple extra towels not answered, etc. Tone of messaging could have been better - only there a day or so into a 5 day stay and warned of late check out would result in $100–$500 HOURLY charge and extra cleaning charge for not washing dishes — AND THERE ARE NO DISHES! Had to wash glasses in bathroom sink with hand soap. No trash can or trash bags provided. Seating was limited. Could be better use of “kitchenette” space, e.g., shelves, etc. Patio and patio furniture should be cleaned before each new guest - birds are an issue.

Nice place for two but NO A/C

The size and location was perfect however there was no A/C. This is a second floor of a residence and the temperature must be controlled by the main house. All of the windows had to be opened to have a cool breeze. This meant you heard EVERY little noise outside where the neighboring houses are super close. Just not what I expected when paying this much to stay. Bathroom and shower was really nice.

Only one issue

Though I rated most things high, the overall rating was poor due to one issue. The owners were courteous, friendly, and easy to work with but unfortunately they left the day after we arrived. They had someone house sitting during their absence and whoever it was smoked weed in the main house. The stench came through the air conditioning ducts and the adjoining door to the main house that is located in the penthouse…we noticed it the last two days we were there…we notified the rental company who said they would contact the owner immediately but we are not sure of the outcome. We left the a/c vents closed and opened the windows. I work for an FAA associated job that requires periodic random drug tests. While I doubt I would test positive, I’m not willing to take chances with my career. One other thing is that the rules for the penthouse is no smoking…the a/c system should be separate to prevent such incidents.

Amazed

The place is as it looks in the pictures. Actually even better! The host was very helpful and available. We arrived very late and the property number was not lit. Needed up going to a couple of wrong properties in the area. But after that the experience was amazing. The views are incredible, it was quiet and peaceful. Plan to go back as soon as I have a break. Kudos!!!

Lovely penthouse en-suite

Lovely king bedroom and bathroom with a huge deck. Amazing views. Seamless check-in. Liann was very responsive with the 1 small issue we had. The only thing I might suggest is another table lamp in the bedroom. Other than that the accommodation was great and I highly recommend it!

Great getaway!

Great location! The bed was super comfortable and the patio is perfect. It was nice to have the mini fridge and coffee maker in the morning. There was A/C in the room but we could not find the panel to adjust the temperature. Overall would stay here again!

Relaxing getaway

Luney dunes was just as described. Comfortable oversized bed. Private entrance and deck overlooking the water. So peaceful. Close to downtown Newburyport to shop and have delicious food. The host was great and asked if we needed anything. I will book again!

4th of July

Despite the rainy weekend we had a good time, Newbury port is close by and Plum Island has quite some decent places, we were lucky with live music at Beachcoma. There is a small public beach close by, but we chose the larger beach. We didn’t figure out how to control the temperature, but we didn’t need to because it wasn’t too warm (sadly ha), but contact with management is fast and pleasant. Bed was excellent, always a must.

A great place

This was a great location. Beautiful views of the river from the deck. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and bright. This ifs listed as a studio, to me that means some sort of kitchenette with a sink and small cooktop. This had only a dorm fridge, microwave and a keurig. We were here 4 nights so we ate every meal out. A longer stay it would be nice to have the capability to at least make breakfast. We would stay here again for a short stay.

Lovely weekend on Plum Island

We had a great time--wonderful space, wonderful location, easy access and check-in, and incredibly helpful management. The private patio is especially gorgeous. Note, for packing, that there isn't a traditional closet with hangers, though there is a coat rack and ample dresser space. A perfect weekend away, all around!

One last hurrah

Long weekend away at the beach. Was a great location for our pups. Short drive to Newburyport for fine dining and shopping. Everything was exactly as pictured. Beautiful views of the water! Host was extremely accommodating. Would stay here again!
