A perfect place for a peaceful getaway in the Cascades! Aaron was really helpful, and the home is cozy, filled with thoughtful touches and spotlessly clean. Absolutely heaven.

Perfect!
My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at Cabana del Oso. The location in Packwood WA was perfect. Ten minutes to hiking at Mt. Rainer and five minutes to downtown Packwood. Packwood has a grocery store, coffee shop, a few restaurants, library, post office etc…. The cabin is very clean and is as pictured. We stayed 3 nights and wish we had stayed a few days longer to enjoy the fire pit, sauna, and just relax. The two outside decks are nice. We would definitely book this home again. Aaron was a pleasure to work with. Any questions we had were addressed completely and he is very easy to communicate with.

Aaron shares a wonderful little gem in Packwood. We went up to ski and the location was perfect. Less than 30 minutes and your parked at White Pass ready to ski (that was with snowy/icy roads)
Fire place was cozy and heated the place perfectly so don’t forget your firewood! the back patio with a the sauna and hot tub were a welcomed treat after skiing.
Beds were comfy and plenty of sheets, blankets and pillows. Lots of towels and instructions for the hot tub.
There was a washer and dryer, just bring some detergent.
Plenty of heat, lots of games and a cool coffee table book that shows all the hard work he has put into the property.
Communication was great, Aaron was out of the country, but his property manager was around for last minute questions. The internet worked great.
He’s already working on replacing the TV (the color is fading a bit) and adding a couple more pans for the kitchen. Otherwise it has what you need for a great getaway!
We can’t wait to go back.
The cabin is perfect, comfortable, and had everything we could have wanted in a vacation getaway. Hot tub AND sauna!?! yup. Proximity to White Pass? Yup. It was perfect all the way around, and Aaron is a great with communication.
If you are looking for a place to stay near Mt. Rainier, this is the place! The house itself is clean and spacious. However, you will spend most of your time out on the back deck enjoying the quaint forest scene. The spa and sauna are in great condition and very clean. Aaron has created a unique and enjoyable space to relax. There is a book at the house that shares Aaron's story and how Cabana del Oso came to be- sentimental and impressive! My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Cabana del Oso was a great place to retreat to after hiking all day at Mt. Rainier. We will definitely recommend it to friends and family. We may even make a return trip sometime soon!
Very private, relaxing zen cabin. We loved the hot tub and sauna after a long family hike. Clean, comfortable, cozy cabin that has everything you could ask for. Thank you!!!

I want to stay there again. Great space and deck all around in a beautiful setting.
Overall a great place to set up a great outdoor vacation. White Pass for skiing and touring was superb! Wood stove was great and heated the space elegantly. Hot tub and and suana made for great relaxing and therapy. When I go back I’ll be staying there at Cabana Del Oso. Gracias amigo Aaron great place you’ve created there.

Great hospitality and beautiful house
We had some difficulty getting in initially but Aaron stayed up late to work with us and get us into the house. His diligence was very much appreciated!
He also had left some amazing welcome gifts which made everything so much better! The house and amenities we're fantastic. I'd love to come back.
Thank you!

Cabana Del Oso is Fantastic!
What a great place to get away for a night or longer! Owner answered all our questions in a timely manner considering the time difference! We were able to enjoy the sauna and cedar hot tub with clear instructions on how to use them! Great outdoor shower to rinse off in as well. Even had the fireplace roaring which kept the house warm without having to turn on the heat! It also has everything you need in the kitchen! Will recommend to friends and we will be back!

Great cabin near White Pass!
The house was a great base for skiing White Pass. It is very well equipped, with plenty of pots and pans if you want to cook, plenty of towels for the hot tub and sauna, games, a big screen TV and easy access to the highway up to the ski resort. The beds were comfortable, and the whole house was clean and neat. There isn't a table to sit at, but the counter and stools worked fine for our meals and card playing. The owner was out of town, but exceptionally responsive to our emails and did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. We would certainly stay here again!

We had a great time at Cabana del Oso!
The house was clean and the accommodations were perfect for us. It’s a house tucked in at the end of a quiet street. Minimal drive up to White Pass! We really enjoyed the use of Aaron’s cedar hot tub and sauna. The wood burning stove made the place cozy and warm. If there was ever a question, Aaron responded very quickly! Thanks for the homemade soaps! It was a fun family trip⛷❄️

This is a great house!
We stayed three nights in late August and explored Mt Rainier National Park. The house is in a good location for seeing the park. It is comfortable and the outside area is fantastic. We spent lots of time outside reading, eating, sitting in the hot tub. We found the inside roomy and comfortable. Perhaps the common area would seem a bit tight in the winter, but for our summer visit it was perfect. We would go back and definitely recommend the house.

Great location to Mt. Rainier and met all our family's needs perfectly!
We loved our stay at the Cabana del Oso! Aaron did a fabulous job of creating a "home away from home" in the woods while offering guests a soothing jacuzzi and sauna after long days of hiking.
We appreciated all of his attention to details in the cabin such as a well stocked kitchen, bathroom supplies and laundry!
We highly recommend this cabin for anyone planning a vacation at Mt. Rainier!

wonderful mountain experience
we enjoyed our experience in this rural area. unfortunately it was unusually hot and there was a lot of smoke causing poor visibility by forest fires in neighboring areas so hiking in Mt. Rainier National Forest was difficult at best. We enjoyed the cabin and the owner and neighbor were very helpful with any questions or concerns.

We spent most of our full day at the community pool. We had a great time hanging out around the house and, we found all the amenities to be as advertised. The owner was great about communicating with us during our stay.

Quaint cabin with wonderful mountain decor, great proximity to White Pass
We stayed at this charming cabin for three nights in the heart of the White Pass ski season. The cabin is perfect to get one in the mood for a get-away-from-it-all ski vacation. Kitchen fully stocked (crock pot included) and the owner is generous with sharing his spices and any condiments in the fridge. Nice flat screen tv for when the ski day is over and you want to unwind by "vegging out" and watching the selection of DVDs. Owner was readily available via text message to help answer any questions or walk us through the various remote controls.
Only drawback was that while cabin had internet satellite, for some reason we could not get or stay online...it may have also just been the winter weather, or a sign that we needed to unplug :)
One of our favorite features of the cabin was the wood burning stove and readily available pile of kindling and firewood that the owner obviously spent time chopping and stocking for his guests. It sure kept the cabin cozy and warm while we watched old classic movies, had fondue, family game night, and sipped wine.
Another great feature is the outdoor barrel sauna (it literally looks like a big barrel), which we did not wind up using because we are not really sauna people (more jacuzzi people), but I can see how if you like a good dry sauna, this would be a huge added benefit.
Lastly, the beds are super comfy - there is one king in the master bed, one queen, and two twin bunk beds. There were three of us on this trip, and it was plenty of room...we definitely could have added a couple more people and still been comfortable. One bathroom, which was not a problem for our group.
Best part of our stay was that extra personalized touch...the owner was very accommodating and hospitable from beginning to end, and we definitely plan to stay at the Cabana del Oso (Bear Cabin) again!

Great peaceful haven after mountain day hikes. Would stay here again.
My family and I really enjoyed our July stay. We used the house as a base while exploring Mt Rainier and the north side of Mt St Helens. Packwood is well situated for those trips. The house was very clean, well maintained, comfortable and located in a peaceful wooded residential area. The beds and bedding were comfortable (the bunk beds were a little hard but the kids did not complain). There was no reviews when I booked which made me a little nervous so I wanted to be to leave one.
Pool: Our favorite amenity was the community pool. It felt great every evening after hiking. It is really two fairly large pools- one about 1-3 ft deep and one about 4-8ft deep. The pools had great warm temperature, popsicles and soda to purchase as well as pool toys. There is also a tennis court and play ground. I felt lucky to see it as it is located on the northside Hwy12 east of the house turn off (the house is on the southside of Hwy 12). You have to drive to it and wear the wristbands.
The neighborhood: Lush and peaceful! There is a cold creek to play in that just south? of the cabin. It was fun to climb rocks and bath your toes in. One negative- we were awoken each morning at 7 by a man walking (yelling profanities) at his dogs.
Firepit: Bring your smore making supplies and maybe a comfortable lawn chair(there are a few upright plastic chairs). There is plenty of wood and a little paper for fire starting.
Ventilation: My husband wished he could open up the windows and enjoy the fresh air but there are no window screens other then the sliding door. There were fans but it did get a little stuffy. The AC worked (after we replaced the remote batteries) but we would have preferred fresh air.
Household amenities: We used the washer and dryer once and it was really nice that he provided laundry soap . The washer stopped once randomly as something had triggered the GFI but once reset it finished the load. Kitchen and fridge/Freezer were nice. I could have wished the kitchen had dry measuring cups (as there was only a liquid measure), a pair of scissors and another lg pot. He had a very large stock pot, one large pot, a good fry pan and a thin pizza pan cookie sheet for the oven that I used. I was glad I had brought my large pot from home so I could cook two things at once. The only indoor eating area is the kitchen bar with 4 stools. The WiFi was slow and we did not get cell coverage (we have Verizon) but we could send out and receive email.
