Taylor Lodge is an ideal place for a reunion, school camp, family gathering, birthday or just a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The building is made from four old railway buildings moved onsite and joined together in the early 1980s. There are 11 rooms sleeping 46 people, a catering style kitchen and dining area and a large lounge with a fireplace to keep you cosy. A separate games room for the kids, or maybe settle them in front of a movie in the TV room. A drying room is available in winter for all your snow gear. Located between Ohakune and National Park off State Highway 4 in Pokaka, Taylor Lodge is secluded, yet close enough to get to all the activities that the Ruapehu region has to offer.
The beds are all singles/bunks, apart from one double and one king bed. Standard kiwi bach practise applies - with guests needing to bring their own linen (sheet, sleeping bag, pillowcase and towel).
Upon confirmation of your booking we will send you a Welcome Book so that you can start to plan your stay with us.

Lovely managers (who also bring you food to feed the animals), super clean property and able to utilised by lots of people doing different things. Great place to stay and we will definitely be back.
The living room is nice and cozy, the kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfy enough for a good sleep if you bring a sleeping bag-- as they advised.
Easy, great price, perfect for large group. Good central location to both mountain options. Out of town so can make some noise. Well heated. Great place, we will be back.

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with Pokaka when we saw flocks (up to a dozen) of Kereru flying between the trees. Not something you see in the city! There is so much to do close by - snow sports in winter, hiking and mountain biking.
