Welcome to The Firefly Cottage at Higgins Lake!

Clear the calendar for a trip to 'The Firefly Cottage’,' a 2-bedroom 1-bath vacation rental house that sleeps 6 in beautiful Higgins Lake! You'll feel the stress melt away from the moment you turn down the street and are greeted with a beautiful lake view at the road end public access.
The entire cottage was completely newly furnished and appointed in 2019 and has been meticulously maintained. The Firefly Cottage will welcome you and make you feel right at home!
Whether you prefer summers spent enjoying all that the beautiful Higgins Lake has to offer or fall and winters on the neighboring trails on your UTV or snowmobile, you'll find an adventure awaits right around the corner. If you prefer old school non-motorized fun, the Firefly offers (4) cruiser bikes for guest enjoyment. Kick back, relax, and enjoy one of the world’s most beautiful lakes!

The Firefly Cottage is the perfect spot where up-north charm and modern amenities perfectly coincide. Equipped with high speed wireless internet and Smart TV with access to all your streaming channels you subscribe to in case you need to wind down from the day’s adventures. A portable air conditioner in the living area and window unit in the master bedroom provide cooling comfort when needed.

Charming Home Away from Home

Communication, check in and check out was phenomenal. It was perfect, relaxing and everything needed for a relaxing weekend away. All the details were addressed, and everything was simple and perfect. There were so many ways to enjoy your vacation in this place, for any type of vacation you are looking for. It was definitely versatile and perfect place to reset!

Great getaway on Higgins Lake!

The cottage was cleanly, cute and just right for a summer weekend up north. We loved the extra thoughtfulness of having a little cooler to use, bug spray, spices, etc. Super close to the water and a nice dock to hang on. I’d recommend to anyone and definitely stay again!

Awesome location and amenities

A great place with access to the lake about a block away! Very clean and the main living area was modern and comfortable. A great place for a few people to hang out if the weather is rainy. The best part though is when the weather is nice. There is a back yard with plenty of space to hang out or to prep for heading to the lake. Between the driveway and the garage there's plenty of room to organize the water toys for kids or adults. Beds are super comfortable too.

Amazing As Always

This is our second time here! We love it so much! So homey and quite and close to the beautiful water. The place is always spotless and owners always answer immediately! We will be staying agian for our next weekend trip!

Lovely cottage

Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. Only 20 minutes from Grayling, Roscommon, or Houghton Lake. Nice, quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Trip to Higgens Lake

A very lovely peaceful place. Great place to visit nearby places like Hartwick Pines and Mackinaw Island. The state parks are very nice too. The beds and accessories in the rental are very nice

Higgins Lake 2022- Awesome

Our stay at the Firefly cottage was excellent!! It felt more like a home than a cabin. The lake is beautiful and clear and the sand is white and soft. We rented a boat near by and enjoyed every minute. Michelle and Bryan are excellent host and very easy to communicate with. Can't wait to come back.!!

Cozy Cottage

The cottage was just right for a week long vacation for my elderly parents. Everything needed from bikes, pans, linens, wifi, firepit, and washer/dryer were all conveniences just like home that made their stay very comfortable. There is a nearby beach available to watch the boats and sunsets. Owner Michelle was easy to get a hold of and answered all our questions quickly. Would encourage all who need a small, cozy cabin, with everything you need to make your stay restful to consider the Firefly Cottage.

Higgins Lake vacation

This home isvery clean and we loved how it was decorated with a the Higgins Lake theme . The kitchen has a very nice stove, cookware and beautiful dishes. We enjoyed watching movies, riding bikes and fishing on Higgins Lake. Very nice neighborhood! Everything you could want in a home by the lake. We loved staying here and would stay again.

Perfect!

This was the perfect cottage for a weekend getaway. We loved the decor and it had everything we needed to feel like home. The proximity to the nearby state parks made it easy to take our toddler out for part of the day and then easily head back for nap time! I 100% recommend the firefly cottage and hope that we get to visit again sometime!

Visit with family and friends in Michigan

This property was very easy to book, communication was excellent and check in was extremely easy. The cottage was extremely clean which was so appreciated. The beds were comfy, plenty of linens, and kitchen was well stocked. We loved being able to see the lake from the front deck and we really enjoyed the fire pit on the back patio. Thank you for hosting us at your cottage, we really enjoyed our stay and would have spent extra time there if possible!

Lovely cottage

This is a beautiful cottage, beautifully appointed, with comfortable beds and outdoor seating. In a neighborhood that’s great for walking and bike riding. And the windows were large with a great view of the lake.

Wonderful Cottage

We spent 10 lovely days at the Firefly and it was perfect. The accommodations were great, the kitchen was well-stocked and little details were well-thought out. There are four nice bikes in the garage, a fire pit and grill in the backyard and a nice patio and table all available for your use. Plus a full-sized washer/dryer which came in handy. Very thoughtful touches, nicely decorated and updated. We could easily walk to the lake and the dock at the end of the street was the perfect spot to capture the glorious sunsets. We are making plans to return next summer. Thanks Firefly for a great vacation.

This property is beautiful! The porch is 50 yards away from Higgins lake with a nice dock. House was very clean. My family and I enjoyed the stay and the area was perfect. Very quiet neighborhood

Peaceful retreat

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this clean and cozy cabin. It served as a bed and work space as we visited family on the north side of the lake. We needed to have space to ourselves where we would work in the mornings before going out to play, and the Wi-Fi was stable and reliable for us. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, and there was just enough view of the lake to see it sparkle from the living room area. Would have been plenty of space for our kiddo, if he hadn't been enjoying his stay with his grandparents! The cabin had everything we needed, and the owner was in touch and responsive. Would definitely recommend to others!

Comfortable and cozy cottage

We had a wonderful time at this cottage. Access was easy and the cottage was as represented. The cottage was even nicer than reflected in the pictures. It seemed recently updated and was very clean and comfortable. The beds were also very comfortable. It was very quiet even though we were there for the 4th of July which tends to be loud. Communication with the host was easy and she promptly responded when I had a question, and was very kind to find and return to me a charger that I left behind.

The cleanest, most well done VRBO I have ever stayed in.

WHAT A GEM! If you are looking for a place in Higgins lake this is it! Booking and check in was a breeze. Everything was spotless and welcoming upon arrival. Everything we needed was there but it didn’t feel at all cluttered. The beds were very comfy...even the roll away! Location was spot on with easy access to the water and a nice quiet road for walks and bike rides. I could go on and on...the firefly cottage stole our hearts!

Great weekend stay!

Very nice house! Kitchen was great for cooking at home and our kids loved the snacks. It’s ten minutes to either state park and there is a dock across the street. We would stay here again!
