My wife & I were returning guests, we love this property. Very peaceful and the view is amazing. Property was spotless and ready to go! You won't regret it.
Gorgeous view of St. Lawrence river with ships and wildlife passing by. Lovely new dock, kids enjoyed swimming each day, old folks sat in sun on riverfront porch, very nice. Not the biggest place in the world but certainly adequate for 5 of us.
TERRIFIC find! Nice new dock, great fishing, sunset deck, and firepit. Books up early.
We stayed here 1st week of Sept and have already rebooked for next year. Pam is a conscientious owner, lives nearby, and sincerely wants her guests to have a good time. The new dock is an excellent add, and the 12' rowboat took to my strong trolling motor very well. This allowed me to go out onto the river just fine (the current isn't that bad really) where smallmouth bass fishing was the best! I highly recommend Prenell Place cottage, and only suggest you reserve early since the summer gets repeat booked early (as you'll see if you look at 2024).
Gorgeous location right on the St. Lawrence River with wonderful views of the maritime traffic and beautiful sunsets. Cottage was very cozy for three adults, clean and well equipped. We never left the site! Everything we needed for a long needed getaway!
We don't have enough words to express how beautiful the view is from the large living room window. We watched ships go by day and night. The amenities were more than we needed. It was just excellent. The home has a Sea Life theme which we really appreciated. We actually had a little rain here and there throughout our week but found things to do inside and out rain or shine. Great job on the deck Pam! That was a huge bonus being able to sit on the dock and watch the river life. Or family wants to come back again for sure. Being able to relax in such a beautiful place was truly the vacation we needed. All thumbs up for this place!!
Beautiful cottage with gorgeous views of the river
My family and I just arrived back home from staying 4 glorious nights at this cottage. The place was spotless and equipped with everything you could need. We loved sitting in the living room and watching the big ships go by from every window ( my favorite was one of the rocking chairs. ) There wasPlenty of wild life to watch such as hummingbirds minks and chimpmonkks The brand new dock was wonderful for tying up the boat and sunbathing and watching the sunrise and set. We are already talking about wanting to go back! Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home Cheryl
The cottage is very cozy. We stayed with our daughter and her family, and the six of us (four adults and two kids) were very comfortable. It is well equipped with everything you need. Pam has added so many extras both inside and out - it feels more like home than a rental! She is gracious, thorough and accommodating. We had bad weather, but there are so many places to visit and things to do, we still had a wonderful time. And sitting in the rockers watching the river is enjoyable no matter the weather!
Great stay for a relaxing weekend. Fantastic view of the river and a well-stocked cottage. Beds are very comfortable, owner was easy to contact and exactly as described.
Although it rained for most of our mini-vacation, we had a lovely time watching the river and the ships and the storms. We'll have to try again in drier weather :-)
Pam's cottage is amazing. She goes that extra mile so that you can enjoy your stay to the fullest. The view of the St.Lawrence is spectacular both morning and night. We sat out at the bonfire and watch the fireworks across the river in Canada. A very relaxing, guiet and just all around wonderful. Thank you, Pam.
The cottage is just as listed, it was homey and well taken care of. The owner Pam was wonderful , friendly and informative.
Having coffee on the back deck and watching the sunrise over the bay is a magical sight.
Will definitely be back!!!!!
We had a wonderful experience renting Prenell Place. The location on the St. Lawrence River was perfect. The cottage had all the amenities from home. The vintage decor was amazing. Pam was an excellent host. We are looking forward to another visit soon!
If you want to get away from this insane world, Pernell Place is where you need to go. Leave there feeling so refreshed! We are planning on making a return trip next year.
Pam was a great host and was available when needed. Cottage was supplied with kitchen supplies, linens, and anything else we needed. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay, this is the place. The only traffic you'll hear is a boat passing by, my kind of traffic! Beautiful sunsets and a great view of freighters passing by.
We were looking for a quiet getaway and we sure found it! Prenell Place was exactly as described. We found everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Very private, quiet enjoyment of the river and it's inhabitants! Pam was very responsive and quickly reacted to a small problem with the grill gas. Even though our weather was a bit cool and rainy we were comfy and relaxed. The Remington Museum in Ogdensburg was amazing and we enjoyed the shops in Clayton and Alexandria Bay. We hope to return!
We enjoyed renting the property for the weekend. The view was amazing. Pam was extremely responsive and helpful. The property had everything we needed. Would like to go back and kayak !!!
This cottage made us feel at home as soon we entered. The front window and rocking chairs were a favorite spot. The window at the kitchen sink overlooks the river. The yard area was very nice .The river was right there . The sunny deck was very nice also. Pam was great offering any assistance we might need. It was especially great that we could bring our Lab Coco. Overall impression was excellent. Wish we could have stayed another week!
I am a newly-retired teacher having spent 33 years in the field of education. I taught both special education and elementary education. I consider myself blessed to live in such a spectacular area, and look forward to all the activities available locally in my retirement. I live here year-round, only 20 minutes from where the cottage is located. My partner, Greg, is still working. He's a man of many talents, and he and his 3 children have made Prenell Place a part of their family traditions.
Why they chose this property
A neighbor and friend is a realtor. She shared the cottage on her Facebook page, and the rest is history! My partner, Greg, and I went to visit in July of 2018 and immediately saw its potential and fell in love with it. I continue to pinch myself that this spectacular property is ours!!! There have been many upgrades done through the fall and spring, including a new roof, new siding and skirting, new sidewalk, landscaping, and the extra-special discovery of hardwood floors underneath 40+ year old linoleum!
What makes this property unique
Residing only 20 minutes away provides our guests with the privacy of their own, personal space if they want, or we're only a short distance away if they need us. I hope our guests will be able to relax and enjoy the cottage as we more so! When we're there, we're constantly finding things with which to 'putter.' But--Prenell Place is the only place you'll actually catch us sitting down for extended periods of time! How can you not, with the incredible views and peace?
