100Mbps fiber optic internet.

Did you know there are 2 volcanoes in the town of La Fortuna??? Most tourist only hear of the Arenal Volcano, but there is a second one right next to it.

My home is a 2 bedroom with great views of the Costa Rica Rain-forest, right at the edge of the jungle, and the majestic Arenal Volcano and the second less known Cerro Chato Volcano.

I'm excited to make my home yours while you are vacationing in the area. You are renting the whole cabin while you're here... I nor anyone else will be staying at the property during your stay. However, I can be reached if you need anything, but for the most part you're on your own.

The cabin is located at the base of the Arenal Volcano. It's only 9 minutes (2 minutes on a bumpy dirt road) from the center of town in La Fortuna, but private and secluded, yet 5 minutes (1.9km) from one of the larges stocked grocery stores in the area, and 3 minutes from the La Fortuna Waterfall.

You want birds, we GOT them - hummingbirds, toucans, Montezuma Oropendolas, Honey Creepers and many, MANY, many more.

You want a Volcano view, you could pretty much reach out and touch it.

The Howler monkeys can frequently be heard passing just 100 yards away. If you're lucky you'll get to see them climb from tree to tree as they lounge around eating and enjoying the day.

I am constantly landscaping so there are a LOT of plants, trees and flowers for you to enjoy. You'll LOVE eating out on the porch as the beauty that IS Costa Rica moves around you. I feed the hummingbirds and they'll be enjoying their breakfast as you enjoy yours- fun to watch - SO TERRITORIAL. And at night when the sky is dark and there's nothing to see but black. You can see the hundreds of fireflies roaming around in the distance.

Cute Home at the base of the Volcano

Nice home with an excellent view of the volcano. Only a couple minutes to town, but the feel of seclusion. Met the owner while checking in and he shared any and all information you may need about the home.

Nice Rustic Cabin on a Beautiful Property

We enjoyed our stay here in La Fortuna. The cabin was cozy, well-appointed, and clean. The grounds had many exotic and beautiful trees, flowers, and colorful birds. The owner was friendly and easy to communicate with.

Loved the view of Volcano Arenal. Loved the quiet location, but close to town. Loved seeing the birds (20 species!) and hearing the howlers. Perfect!

Jungle cabin

Nice house in a small neighborhood right in the middle of the jungle with easy access to la fortuna. Saw many birds, including toucans. We thought the neighbors had a sick donkey the first several days only to find out it was howler monkeys in the trees behind the property.

Pura vida

The property was beautiful! D'Angelo has cultivated a beautiful garden. It was great to sit and watch the comings and goings of volcano Arenal from our porch as the clouds came and went. We all really enjoyed having a secluded cabin to come relax in after a day of sight seeing. We were thankful to D'Angelo for leading us to the VRBO the first day and showing us all the features and how to manage temperature and bugs within the cabln. The one issue we had was managing the flow and temperature of the shower-we never did figure that out. Otherwise the cabin although some might call rustic was very relaxing and comfortable, we would stay there again.

4-night stay at La Fortuna

The property owner was very easy to communicate with, through VRBO and later using Whatsapp. He gave clear directions on how to get to the house and gave us a tour of the property. The house is well stocked with towels, linens, and kitchen items. The beds and furniture are comfortable. The views off the patio are amazing, Arenal Volcano fills your view on a clear day. There are dozens of species of birds in the gardens, the howler monkeys were heard early each morning, and a sloth was spotted in a tree on the neighboring property. The neighborhood is quiet, be advised that the neighbors are somewhat close, but are screened by the lush garden. Would stay here again.

Exactly as advertised

The place is great and as advertised. It’s rustic, but comfortable and in a great location. It made it very easy to get everywhere. We really enjoyed sitting out on the wrap around deck, drinking our coffee in the morning or listening to the rain at night. It was very rainy when we were there, which made it even more important to have a 4x4 in general, but especially getting down the neighborhood road (again, as advertised). D’Angelo was excellent. In addition to just setting us up for a nice stay at his place, he gave us some really good recommendations of things to do that enhanced our trip.

We really enjoyed our stay! It’s such a hidden gem. We saw howler monkeys from the balcony!! We have stayed in several places in Costa Rica and this place has the most comfortable beds!!! The host was incredible would definitely come stay again.

Awesome Cabin!

Very cute, cozy, well appointed cabin located at the bottom of the Arenal Volcano. The host was amazingly helpful and friendly and knowledgeable! A great place to stay for a few days as you explore the area. Would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend! Thank you for sharing you place with us!

Perfect Cabin

My wife and I stayed at this cabin during our trip to La Fortuna and had a blast. So much wildlife right outside and the view of the volcano is truly breathtaking. Very well located and we were able to easily access all of the things we planned to do and see in the area. We stayed in Tamarindo afterwards and all we wanted to do was go back to De’Angelo’s cabin! It is a TRUE Costa Rican experience. We loved our stay.

This is a very nice property but there are a couple of dozen little fixes required. Screens and doors do not fit snugly - so expect the odd gecko. The toaster was pretty finicky, the lock was a bit finicky. The water pressure was up and down quite a bit while we were there making showers quite challenging - nothing major - but it adds up. The biggest complaint is with the very dedicated rooster who takes his job very seriously. Also lots of barking dogs and a dirt bike next door that seems to run a few errands in the morning around 5 and then returns late. I feel like the price was high for what we experienced.

THE PROPERTY IS VERY COMFORTABLE AND THE LANDSCAPED GARDEN SHRUBBERY SURROUNDINGS ARE FANTASTIC. D'ANGELO ARRANGED FOR MY AIRPORT ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TRANSPORTATION INCLUDING THE TRIPS INTO TOWN. HE ALSO PICKED ME UP TO SEE THE SUPERBOWL ON TV IN TOWN AT THE MEXICAN RESTAURANT.

D'Angelo's assistance to meet us in town, ensure we found the cabin, show us all the features of the home, and give us great advice on Fortuna adventures meant a lot to us! His home is lovely, with so much character associated with a rain forest jungle. Great decorations and vibe. Loved the wrap around porch, open to the LR and Bedroom. Beds were comfortable for a great night's sleep, enjoying the sounds of nature. The cabin was very clean. Such a great experience! On D'Angelo's recommendation, enjoyed Maquique Adenture's Rafting and Canyoning experiences. Also did the waterfall, hiked Arenal, and enjoyed the "free" Hot Springs after dark. So much fun!

Very dirty house in a beautiful location

After high sensation when entering the house, our stay turned into a nightmare. What a shame to leave abandoned such a potentially lovely house! Dust, lizard and insects corpse, spider webs, sticky cutlery, wet sofa, shower leaking to toilet, front door lock hardly working, abandoned trash in the garden and crawlspace are just some of the too many issues which make us escape from this hell instead of spending a second night at the same place. We can't understand how owners maintain their house in such a poor state, despite tremendous potential inside and outside. This house doesn't deserve to be offered for rental before being seriously repaired, maintained and dishes being refurbished. Photos are unfortunately misleading...

What makes this property unique

The cabin is surrounded by a lush tropical garden. The wrap around porch provides great views of the surrounding jungle and is a nice place to enjoy a morning coffee and watch the many tropical birds in the area. We are located in the back of a typical Costa Rica neighborhood. The closest house is about 120 yards away.
