About this property

Our Java Ski Haus was lovingly designed as the perfect family retreat. Located within minutes to the ski mountain, this is the perfect spot for the whole family from grandparents to little ones. It's why we designed in unique features like large bedrooms designed to sleep parents and little ones in close proximity, a massive bunkroom for older kids, and a main floor master retreat. With incredible views from every room, we know you'll love it as much as we have!

The space
The kitchen and pantry are fully stocked with spices, other basics and plenty of cookware to enable you to prepare a feast after a long day of skiing or hiking. As for sleeping, the home has 4 bedrooms including a bunk room which is a great place for all the kids!!

On our property, we arguably have one of the best sledding hills in Steamboat. You can grab a tube or disk from the garage and whisk down our hill for some added fun. Or, you can relax and enjoy the 360 degree panoramic views of the Yampa Valley extending from the Flat Tops, Sleeping Giant, Howelsen and of course, Mt. Werner; home to one of North America's best ski resorts.

There are great walking trails adjacent to our property and we routinely have visits from the true locals: Elk, Deer, Foxes, and Moose.

In the warmer months, enjoy our deck and outdoor patio for gatherings, BBQs, or sunset cocktails. We have outdoor furniture and sunshades for your group.

You will see great artwork inside the home. Most of which was created by a prominent Colorado artist (and former resident!). We hope you enjoy the indoor ambiance that her great work creates. (FYI - we converted her art studio into a spacious bedroom that has the best views of Sleeping Giant valley)

Our family loves to travel and as renters ourselves, we've tried to think of everything to make your stay enjoyable! We hope you'll make Java Ski Haus your home while visiting Steamboat!

Great Family Ski Hangout

Spacious well stocked house less than an 10-minute drive from Steamboat base area. Comfortable beds. Great views over the valley. The host Fergus was incredibly gracious in allowing our group to change dates when one of us unexpectedly required knee surgery and had to postpone the trip almost 2 months. Fergus was also very responsive to a few inquiries along the way. Highly recommended place.

Spring in Steambaot

The house was great, but disappointed we weren't aware there was no AC in the house (it was 90 degrees the day we arrived) and were expected to take our shoes off while inside the house (I have foot issues and can't walk around without my insoles).

Great house for a big family

The listing is very accurate, it’s a big spacious house in an amazing location. My sisters and I stayed for week, with 2 kids under 5, and had a great time! The kitchen is huge and well equipped, we cooked everyday. The views are lovely from the house, and we saw some cute wildlife right out back. My only criticism is the tv situation, it’s not a smart tv so there is no way to set up a movie. We had to settle for whatever was on cable, which did not work out well. If I had known, I would have brought a cable to hook up my laptop to it.

Perfect house for family getaway

Large, updated single family home overlooking the town of Steamboat Springs. Had everything we needed. Fully stocked kitchen, hot tub, comfortable beds, and a larger space than we thought. Short drive to gondola square. Perfect all around!

Fabulous home!

Our three-generation family spent 8 nights in this amazing home over Christmas. We were greeted with an early check in, and a clean, wonderful house complete with Christmas decorations and a tree. The house had every amenity imaginable, and more thoughtful touches than I can list. The kitchen had high quality utensils and pans and... well... everything. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding was so soft. Blankets, pillows, etc were abundant. The four bedrooms were huge. The two master bedrooms were so comfortable and well appointed, the artist's room was ENORMOUS and wonderful. And the bunk room! It is the largest and most fabulous bunk room I've ever seen. We adults agreed we'd all be delighted to stay in it. Such a fun room! The hosts were extremely responsive to any communications over the 6+ months between our reservation and arrival. They even accommodated the rental of a crib and stroller for our toddler. (Also, the house conveniently had a high chair and a pack-and-play.) We skied, snow-shoed, cross country skied, shopped, and ate in five star restaurants -- all within a ten minute drive of the home. (From the oversized two car garage!) We highly recommend this rental.

MOST BEAUTIFUL HOME

My family and I went on our annual elk trip and found this beautiful home! We’ve stayed in numerous properties and none compare to this house. It’s big enough for a large family, stocked with fun games, and completely stocked with amenities. You won’t need to run to the store for shampoo, toilet paper or anything else. And the view is AMAZING. Catie & Fergus we’re also amazing, never made me feel like I was bothering them and gave us all the info we needed! We were so grateful for that. We can’t wait for next year because we’ll be back at this home for sure!

The house is so amazing, it has great space for large group. The dining table seats at least 10. The kitchen was well stocked. And the grill was great to have. It's in a beautiful location with beautiful views.

Don't hesitate to book this property!

This home is perfect for a large group. We stayed in July of 2021 - it was bridal headquarters for my daughter's wedding. We couldn't have had a more perfect location and set up. The views are tremendous, and the house has everything and more that you could possibly need. Catie and Fergus are the BEST hosts! Anytime I contacted them, they were on it, answered my questions and I did not feel that I was bothering them at all. They were there for us. Clean and comfortable, wonderfully decorated. Thank you!!

the property was well situated for hiking, biking; close to the ski area so we were able to enjoy the various summer activities there. Large space very outdated and not clean

Hosts were very nice and attentive, responded quickly to a couple of minor issues. House is very large and rooms are large. But, Furniture and rugs are very dated. Rugs are tattered. (Easy to remove, even if you don’t replace) Bedspreads are huge and obviously not laundered between guests. Sheets are mismatched on beds. Extra blankets in closets were dirty. Kitchen drawers had crumbs, etc. We had to wash most dishes before we used them. There are many personal decor items of the owners, including random Christmas things in March. Shoes, gloves, boots, etc belonging to owners in the laundry room. Just gave the feeling someone left for the weekend and we walked in. Not the feeling of a well kept VRBO that you pay a lot of money for. The house has much potential but is in need of attention.

Full Steamboat Experience

Excellent communication with property manager. Family story that comes with home makes it feel homey. Beautiful rooms. Warm fireplace. Clean hot tub. Very close to ski parking. If we need the room for family next time we visit Steamboat will check availability of this property first.

Perfect house for a family wedding In the Aspens.

The house was perfect for our large family when our daughter got married in the Aspens in the mountains. The house was convenient, very clean, very comfortable and perfect for our home base. Plenty to do for the kids and well stocked kitchen for the breakfast and dinners! Highly recommend this place and hope we can come back in the future!

Great home close to everything and still private

We enjoyed staying at the house! It was a hit with our family of 6. The sledding hill was alot of fun for the kids and there were plenty of sleds and tubes. The property manager, Fergus has been great and very responsive to any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect for groups

This beautiful home was perfect for our group of three families. Plenty of space to spread out and all the kids slept perfectly in the bunk room. Amazing house and amazing location.

We had a great stay at Casey's place. We were a group of 10, and we all enjoyed our time. The house was very clean when we arrived, the kitchen was well stocked (we cooked all weekend), and the check in was a breeze with the property manager (ask Fergus about mountain biking - he'll give you the local tips!). There is no AC in the house, but it isn't a problem at all - just crack the windows at night (we were there in mid-July and the house cooled down nicely at night). Great house and great hosts - will be staying again. Thanks Casey and Fergus!

What makes this property unique

This home was custom built to take advantage of outstanding mountain views from every room. All the woodwork was hand-selected and imported from Java and Indonesia. We also have the garage stocked with sleds and snowshoes for your use!
