If you're looking for a staycation getaway that hits all the marks (decor, space, environment, ease, near the beach, great landlord) book this property STAT. Beautiful grounds, outside and in....makes you feel like you took a plane ride somewhere else.
Great property! Big outdoor decks overlooking beach... three proper bedrooms ... spacious living and dining areas. Very easy access and clear instructions. Needed more days, longer stay!
I wish we could have stayed longer! What an amazing home with a gorgeous view. Did I mention the whales and sea puppies we saw. This was a fabulous location.
I would recommend this stay to anyone. 10/10
This place gave us exactly what we were looking for! Perfectly located with an amazing ocean view. Home itself had everything we needed. Only wish we had more time!
We enjoyed our stay. The views are breathtaking and the home was clean although a bit weathered. Overall we had everything we needed and really enjoyed our weekend.
What a perfect place for our family. The home was spacious, clean, and equipped with all we needed, not to mention a spectacular view of the ocean. And Terrie could not have been more responsive and accommodating. We hope to return one day soon.
We truly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home! The house has a perfect view of the beach. Terry was a wonderful and attentive host. We would definitely stay here again.
Plenty of space for our family of 5 (one slept on the couch). Location is about 30 minutes to San Francisco which was perfect for us. View of the beach is awesome! Don’t expect a state of the art home with all the fancy fixtures. Yes it could use some updating but that’s not why you’re staying here. Terry was a great host left us a bottle of wine and easy check in. Would definitely stay again if we were to come back to the area.

Fun place with amazing views!
We loved staying here if only for the night. Spacious and comfortable and close to the beach and amenities. Terry is very accommodating and attentive.
The property was very comfortable and the property manager, Terry was very responsible. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and the location was accessible to all the major sights. We would stay again in the future.
The ocean view was wonderful. The owner very friendly. Location excellent. So convenient to get to Half Moon Bay within 15 minutes. We were happy to have the opportunity.
2 levels of spacious accommodations with upper and lower deck overlooking Half Moon Bay. Short walk to local shopping area that includes an amazing coffee shop. Close to San Francisco, but a world away. Hope to visit again.
This was one of our best rental experiences! So welcoming and inviting and the house itself was very cool. The view was amazing- just breathtaking. My daughter and I walked into town for coffee and we walked up the hill for a sunrise view so the location was perfect on so many levels. We definitely hope to be back!
We stayed at Pedro Point after a Road Trip through California. The house was located at a hill with a stunning view over the bay. We were lucky to see a few whales right from the deck and even the breakfast table every day! Terry was a great host, answering every question within minutes. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed ! The location offers short distances to visit San Francisco and the coast south via Highway 1 to Monterey etc… we just had to get used to the fog hanging at this part of the coast …
The views are absolutely breathtaking! House had everything we needed, it’s super cozy and conveniently located in close proximity to stores/restaurants. Easy communication with the host.

Needs basic maintenance completed.
AWESOME VIEW! You are definitely paying for the view and you are getting that. However, some basic kitchen items need to be fixed or replaced (ie blender held together with duct tape). Laundry lights need to be replaced and the duct tape on the dryer door needs to be replaced otherwise the dryer has a hard time working. Lastly, a fresh coat of paint to cover impections and the metal showing on the drywall corner beads. Again the view is worth it but the the property feels a little tired.
A total fraud. Said quiet neighborhood. The ocean view pictures I saw turned out to be blotted out by construction with noise so loud and so close you couldn’t even escape it in the house so the deck was unusable. Did everything right. Notified owner & VRBO sent pictures which were not what was on the site. Checked out next day. Didn’t use showers or cook. Asked for a partial refund as I had to pay another 3 grand to take my family elsewhere. This was May 12th and both this owner and VRBO have strung me along, but no refund. I paid $3000 to stat one night in a place you would not want to go. I only gave one star because you can’t give zero.

First disappointment with vrbo
Location is much farther removed from the ocean than the pictures on the website suggest. The place needs major maintenance inside and out. The downstairs bathroom was shockingly bad with paint peeling off the walls, stain ring around the toilet, one towel rack barely clinging to the wall, etc. No lights next to beds in our
downstairs bedroom, one bluish white light in a cheap glass ball on the ceiling, no drawers there, only sheers on one window; the view windows along the entire front of the house were dirty, the main part of the wood floor worn down; the deck has holes from dry rot and a rose bush growing up through the slats; would not stay there ever again. Made us wonder about vrbo's inspection process. The only good things were the heating system and an unusual dining room table. Also the host who lives next door was very nice to our guests.
Our host, Terry was great. The location and the view were amazing! The house itself was very clean, however, it could use a little tlc. Peeling paint in some areas of the house, hardwood floors need some detailing but again, these are minor things. I had a great stay and would consider coming back.

About the host

I have lived on Pedro point for over 30 years and I'm a professional artist, professor and furniture maker. I teach at a SF university and have a local studio. The art in the home is made by my friends and some of the furniture is also made by me, I also built the home in 1992 with two friends of mine, the home was designed by a SF architect. If there is any questions about the home, myself and the art, feel free to ask.
Why they chose this property
Pedro Point is a special spot, located just 20 minutes south of San Francisco yet has a fell of being much further away. The natural beauty of this eclectic community with it's rich history I'm sure you will enjoy and come to love as much as me. All of the homes are different and most are custom built, lots of trees and meandering streets are everywhere to stroll on and take in the beauty of "the Point". There is plenty to be discovered in this special spot.
What makes this property unique
Walking, biking and public transportation are all within a few minutes. Linda Mar Park n Ride is a 10 minute walk and Samtrans 110, 112 and 118 take you directly to Bart. The coastal highway 1 is just down the hill, north to SF and the wine country or south to Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz is all there is you feel like driving. Everything is close yet you seem so far away.
