Tiwakawaka Haven - Greytown New Zealand

This cottage is modern, spacious and sunny with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry. It is down its own driveway in a secluded back corner. It has off-street parking for two cars. It is opposite a lane that connects to the centre of Greytown in a few minutes, as well as being a block way from the Fresh Choice supermarket. It has a queen bedroom next to a bathroom with shower and toilet. The laundry has a washing machine, dryer and extra toilet. There is a very comfortable double sofa bed in the living area. The kitchen is very well-equipped for those wishing to self-cater. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar, salt, pepper and cooking oil are supplied. It has two decks with pretty garden views. An electric grill and frypan can be used on one of the decks. It has lock up available for bikes. It can be possible to come by train from Wellington with or without bikes. This is designated a non smoking holiday house.

Beautiful stay

Such a well maintained property with everything you could possibly need! Wendy was a lovely host and was very generous to us throughout our stay. Would highly recommend staying here!

Tiwakawaka Haven truly lives up to its name!

Right from our first email with Wendy, we had top service and communications with her. Her wonderful Tiwakawaka Haven is a well designed, comfortable and relaxing dwelling. We enjoyed watching the Tiwakawaka and Kereru from the decks, while enjoying our cups of tea. The place was well stocked with essentials; was very clean and tastefully decorated. Literally minutes walk to the cafes, bars and shops, but nestled among beautiful trees away from the madding crowd. Such a peaceful place which recharged our batteries. We will definitely be back!

Excellent central location for exploring the Wairarapa.

More than we expected. Much better equipped than any other place that we have visited. Next block back from SH2, so little traffic noise. Friendly host. Very enjoyable stay.

Real gem

Fantastic modern cottage that catered for everything we could possibly need or want. Great location close to the centre of Greytown but with a private garden look out. Wendy was extremely welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. This place is a real gem.

Wairarapa experience

Great. Superb wee house. Beautifully and tastefully appointed and well insulated. The bed and bedding is very comfortable. It is well located, being a short block away from the Main Street; thus, quiet. The garden is well tended, loved and very pretty.

Amazing, had everything - a home away from home

We stayed for an extended period as we were waiting for our new house to be completed. Tiwakawaka is very well thought out. Plenty of storage and the kitchen had everything you could ever need. It was all spotless. The decks are nice and private and it's only a 2 min walk to the restaurants. Off street parking was also a bonus. Tiwakawaka is suitable for long and short stays. The host was great .

Imacculate property exceptionally well equipped

The owner has equipped this new build with all modern amenities which made our stay trouble-free and restful. Quality furnishings, everything you could wish for in the kitchen, and a lovely garden to enjoy from the decks. She even made room in her garage to store our bikes during our stay. Highly recommended.

The absolute best!!

Our stay in Wendy’s Cottage exceeded our expectations! From check-in to check-out, we always knew Wendy would be available if we had any questions or concerns. Of course we did not, because Wendy thought of every detail that would make our stay an enjoyable and relaxing time. The unit was clean, comfortable and peaceful, and we were sorry to leave. If/when we return to NZ, we’ll be sure to work another stay at this cottage into our plans. We wish Wendy all the success she deserves with her home based business in 2020!

A beautiful property

I live in an old settlers cottage on the front of the same piece of land as the newly built Tiwakawaka Haven. I ran the old cottage as self-contained accommodation for nearly ten years but now I live in it. Being retired I am on hand to greet most guests. I should be readily available for any information regarding Greytown and the Wairarapa.
I am also in a position to replenish any supplies as needed, in particular firewood.
